  1. Similar to what happened to us. I checked are assigned table when we got board and it was a nice table for six but there was only four of including two grandkids and I knew we wouldn't be eating in TBE MDR
  2. I got one also for our cruise on the Encore that ended in November. I just got the one page and did not show itemized transactions. I am glad I also had them print it onboard that did show all my transaction's as I had to send it to my TA for a large amount of cash back from them.
  3. I have never used a PCC but did get a nice check from my TA's company after our last cruise and also got a $100 onboard credit from them.
  4. Seems the problem is why would NCL schedule two large ships there the same day when they can't handle it and they know they have to cancel one. I really like the Encore and just spent three more weeks on it for the Panama Canal cruise. I have a granddaughter in New Jersey that will be going on it January 22 and have already sent her on email to make her aware they may change GSC to Nassua.
  5. Just my thoughts. We did the Zuiderdam 4 times around 20 years ago and we switched to other cruise lines. We have the Rotterdam booked next August and I am looking forward to seeing the entertainment options onboard. From what I hear HAL changed for the better for what we might like. Might not be perfect for others but for us it looks promising.
  6. We did the 21 night Panama Canal cruise on the Encore in October that had a big price drop after final payment. Pretty sure from now on we won't book any long cruises until after final payment. I think on our cruise it was at about 50% occupancy. Not unhappy just now will wait to book long cruises.
  7. Sure looks like it to me. I am looking forward to it to see how much it has changed. Of course what sold on it to try it again is the 4 ports in Norway. Bob
  8. I really appreciate all the comments. We did the Zuiderdam 4 times many years ago and haven't sailed with HAL since but we do have the Rotterdam booked for 7 nights in August going to Norway from Amsterdam and it gives me a good idea how HAL has changed since then. Looks like we will like the changes,
  9. There is a difference but I do like the fact that in Taste compared to the Manhattan room it feels because of the fewer tables it has an atmosphere more like a specialty restaurant. We did eat 7 times in the specialty restaurants and also one time in the Haven so we enjoyed all of them.
  10. We just did 21 nights on the Encore Panama Canal cruise and we hadn't planned to eat in MDR but talked with a asst Maitre we knew and she said she worked evenings in Taste so we tried it and liked it and probably ate there 5 nights. Food and service was very good and to me it was sort of like eating in a specialty restaurant without the extra cost.
  11. I hope you like Choir of Man. Until I saw Choir of Man MDQ was my favorite. Saw MDQ probably about a dozen times and have seen Choir of Man 10 times on the Encore. Like them both obviously.
  12. Thanks for the info. This coming late summer we will be doing a similar itinerary but to make it work for us we are doing two separate cruises.
  13. We have done whale watching twice in ISP. First time was on the ship excursion to many people last time was with Glacier Winds and that was great only 6 of us much better.
  14. Hope they fix it for you' Just checked our three cruises and all looks good. We have 13 to book with first four able to book December 2.
  15. We are also on the Joy in April for three cruises and both are showing on the second page of the dining options along with Q.
  16. Very accurate account. We were also on deck 13 probably very close to you. And saw pretty much what you saw
  17. Hope some day you can try both and then you will be sure which one is best for you..we have done the Oasis and the Allure but quite awhile ago but we do have the Oasis booked for ten nights in January and looking forward to it. We have never been on the Joy but do have it booked for 26 nights in April and looking forward to those cruises also. We have been on the Bliss and the Encore that are similar to the Joy and really enjoyed those ships. Guess what I am trying to say is you should enjoy either so pick one and go and enjoy and don't second guess your decision.
  18. Thanks for posting all of this. Looks like your itinerary was very similar to the one we had booked on the Serenade for next fall. Of course Royal did cancel that one but we did switch to the Jewel for next fall but does a somewhat similar itinerary so this does help us.
  19. Not on NCL but next fall we had a 14 or 15 night TA cruise booked on another cruise line that they canceled but they offered and we took it a 17 night TA cruise at the same very low price. Hadn't booked airfare yet so that helped.
  20. Not sure if you can change your dates if that happens but you might want to consider the April 15 twelve night cruise on the Joy. Of course no guarantees NCL won't change that cruise later.
  21. Actually just looked at the TA site for the April 30 Joy cruise and when I tried to do a mock booking for that cruise and it also came up as unavailable for all categories. Guess lucky for us I booked the April 1, 8 and 15 cruises. Hopefully it will turn out okay for the April 27 and April 30 cruises.
  22. I was looking at adding the April 27 cruise to my other Joy April cruises and it showed available on my TA site but when you get in further and try to book it it shows unavailable in all categories. My TA called NCL and they wouldn't say why.
  23. Actually was $651. Works out to $15.50 pp per day. I always get a $100 onboard credit from them besides the cash back.
  24. I usually do not but on our upcoming 21 night Encore cruise I have because it helps pushes up from $500 cash back from our TA to $750. And I was going to pay it eventually anyway.
  25. I have balcony guarantee on a 17 night TA next year at a great price and if they did not honor it I would be forced to keep the cruise and depending if I still have any FCC it would probably be my last cruise on Royal. This one would be number 30 on Royal.
