  1. I had assumed the OP was personally connected to the victim. Perhaps that was an incorrect assumption.
  2. TAs can also get lower base prices by booking enough cabins to get their customers a group rate.
  3. At the opposite end of the cruise experience scale, on our very first cruise, Celebrity in the Carribean, we never got off the boat.
  4. I had something similar happen to me years ago involving a college encounter with Southern Comfort.
  5. Why should your desire to sleep with the curtains open trump someone else's desire to have their balcony light on?
  6. Aw, be nice and let them enjoy their snobbism.
  7. I had always understood that the corkage fee only applies to bottles brought to the dining room. Was I wrong?
  8. I don't understand the idea of going on a vacation and then dumping your kids in glorified nautical daycare. When my family vacationed it was to spend time with each other doing fun and interesting things.
  9. And then charging you a hefty gratuity on the free wheels.
  10. Same here. It was the best part of this beating a dead horse thread.
  11. I think passengers should be allowed to bring their personal robots on board, but only emotional support robots.😉
  12. This was pre-pandemic, but we used a company called ROME CHAUFFEUR and it was fine.
  13. If I am going to use my YC card to get in and there is someone close behind me I think I would say something like, "Oh go ahead, I forgot I had to meet someone", and walk away without opening the door.
  14. On our first cruise, a 7-day Caribbean cruise with Celebrity, we never got off the ship.
  15. I recall there also being a chef up there who would be making the pasta dish of the day freshly, for lunch. But I am also very partial to the lounge with the small buffet and Afternoon Tea, and music in the evening and all the drinks. But they are both great.
  16. It's not a one size fits all world.
  17. MSC is clearly not a good fit for you and that's OK. You have plenty of other options. But calling a delayed refund 'stealing' seems a little over-dramatic. How was the actual cruise?
  18. One caveat on this point. The early ships that have Yacht Club had the YC restaurant at the opposite end of the ship from the 'enclave'. So you have to walk the length of the ship to get to and from the restaurant. For 3 meals that means walking the length of the ships 6 times. Which can be difficult for folks with mobility issues. The Divina is one that has this awkward arrangement and I think there are others but I don't know their names - maybe someone can chip in with them. If this might be an issue for someone they should check the deck plans. The second generation of YC has the restaurant with the rest of the enclave, so no problem there. I really liked Divina, but now I'm mobility challenged, so it is off the plate, for me.
  19. I'm so sorry for you. After this you won't be satisfied with less. Your expectations for cruises will jump to another higher energy level. Have a great time. Let them pamper you,
  20. Which cruiselines have the fewest restrictions in the three areas of 1) vaccine requirements, 2) testing requirements, and 3) masking requirements? Have any of them completely eliminated all 3? Thanks.
