  1. We have been Inside, sheltered, balcony and princess Grill, had a look at deck 8 but if you want a view of the ocean sheltered is the way to go, only problem is unless you are very tall, sitting on your balcony chair you cannot see the ocean, you will have to stand
  2. Do not forget they also have ironing boards.
  3. Today booked Sydney to Yokohama March 24, Queen Elizabeth. and recently Barcelona to Singapore Oct.this year. I do hope that when the market gets back to normal PRE-COVID that fares will drop.
  4. Sorry I cant help, sounds wonderful good luck and keep in touch.
  5. Our Last cruise to Japan was April 2019 there was a complimentary shuttle into the nearest towns/cities that has always been the experience on all our Cunard cruises. Akita in April was one of the highlights, shuttle left us off in town and we walked to beautiful park cherry blossoms every where and of course the famous Akita dogs, food stalls and we paid to go into a Japanese Tea Ceremony in the park. As history buffs we took a tour off the ship to visit Nagasaki War Memorial Park and see where the atomic bomb was dropped. I believe this was the first year Cunard started cruising in Japan and with mostly Japanese passengers they appeared to cater mostly for them like early dinner 5.30.It was a pleasure to cruise with these passengers, elegantly dressed, beautiful manners and in the true Cunard way any small disruptions were professionally dealt with and of course another great cruise!
  6. We are cabin breakfast people on Cunard, can't answer your question but breakfasts are great and it is always nice to give the server a tip.
  7. Our trip to Halifax was to visit the cemetery where some lost souls of the Titanic are buried, where you get of the ship you should see a statue of Samuel Cunard who was Canadian.
  8. Friend I have answered the question from the original topic regarding QM 2, 9 June looking at the Itinerary.
  9. Make sure you do your homework as NYC hotels especially downtown have gotten very expensive outside of winter rates.
  10. Last time QE on our Japan Cruise, think it was for the benefit of our Japanese passengers as they eat at 17.30.
  11. I would not expect to see one drinking out of a bottle in the Britannia, but in a glass and paying corkage perfectly acceptable !
  12. Just clarify, if you buy a drink in any bar or restaurant on Cunard, you can take your drinks anywhere on the ship PERIOD.If you bring alcohol on board you pay corkage but if you drink it in your cabin no corkage. When I read 20 people come in with bottles and glasses of beer I get suspicious, now I have not done 65+ cruises but there is nothing wrong with my eye sight nor my hearing.
  13. What makes you think that it was not their personal supply, although it has not been mentioned in the original post, around 20 people coming into the theatre with bottles and glasses of beer would make a Diamond Member like myself question !!
  14. I think you are missing the point here, we are talking about around 20 people bringing drinks into the theatre, this is not about individuals most people are discrete bringing drinks to any part of the ship.
  15. Is this new? as the latest cruise we were on, Cunard was selling a package Drinks and Box for both evening shows.
  16. Thank you for this, yes I have seen people being discrete about wine, being brought into different venues. It appears the minority is spoiling it for the majority, when I read about a large group bringing bottles and glasses of beer to the show, first thing Cunard will say it is a workplace health and safety issue, broken glasses beer bottles left etc because they will not take there empties with them. It grieves me to read that Cunard has had to put this notice out and who can blame them, never never ever have I seen anything like this in a notice on the Victoria, Elizabeth or the Mary.
  17. I think there is a big difference when a large group of people are carrying bottles and glasses into the theater compared to being served by a waiter. Would you do this going into a Broadway or West End Show? in the many Cunard cruises I have never seen or heard of this, I see sometimes in the buffet someone wearing a gown from there cabin, if everyone carried on like that the place would be chaos. You pay for the boxes but the issue is in the general seating area not the boxes.
  18. What cruise are you on? I do not think you are stuffy, nothing surprises me in this day and age.
  19. Very many thanks for your very useful information, have not cruised since 2019 and having been on the same ship before but have lost touch. At the end of every cruise we would have a look at the different empty cabins and think we would remember the ones we liked, alas it does not work that way unless you write the information down.
  20. We have not been away since the start of COVID so really looking foward to getting back cruising.
  21. Has anyone stayed in this cabin, appreciate any comments.
  22. I would recommend an insurance broker also contact every Insurance Co in Auckland and make sure you mention you are on a cruise and need to be covered for COVID. Enjoy your cruise, QV is a beautiful ship and do not forget your dancing shoes.
