  1. I have been reading on CC reviews, Cunard Q E Unrecognizable, Poor Service, Food up and down, not Value for money anymore, the only good reviews came the Grills, more like a 3 star ship with Dropping Standards. I know one has to have an open mind with regards reviews but with a 20 and 18 day cruise booked should we be concerned ?
  2. Received mine in the post box, page 141" Smart attire from him" has me worried. I have not sailed since PRE- COVID, does this mean no jackets required for Britannia Restaurant for dinner?
  3. Have been reading on CC some not so positive Reviews regarding QE, would be interested to hear from anyone Just off the ship.
  4. Thank you for your positive comments regarding laundry etiquette on Cunard.
  5. Wait to you see the price of liquor in Tahiti think it maybe a scream instead of a wow!
  6. No one is queue barging, do you not think if someone is doing their weekly ironing that it would be good manners to offer to let the person with one item use the iron, especially someone good looking like myself. I have seen fights as good as any I have seen in Madison Square Garden not only in the laundry but with chairs out on the decks.
  7. Lets keep this civil no one is penny pinching, we just wear expensive clothes and don't do laundry after getting a very expensive jacket ruined. Now I understand the way the world has gone with dress codes, on a business class flight recently again I had to raise my ex army voice when this fella decided to sit in his bare feet. Read carefully what I said, if someone is doing 12 shirts and I want to iron a shirt for dinner, would you not have the good manners to let the person iron one item. But I forgot good manners have gone by the wayside.
  8. So are you condoning such behavior? what about the elderly ? do you expect them to be running around looking for another laundry. When this happens to me I just go into my army voice never rude just like my old Sargent Major and question the behavior of the person who is going to take at least 30 minutes ironing their clothes.
  9. In the old days Papeete was great to visit, we would stay at the waterfront in an old hotel to get the feel of the place, last time when we were there the place looked shabby and we were told by the locals hardly any tourists as it has got so expensive, they pay no income tax and everything is added on to goods, food and services. Bora Bora is the place to go beautiful flight up there and be sure to get a window right hand side.
  10. We were on the Grand and never again, flooding in our mini-suite this ship has had her day.
  11. Butter slathered on my bread takes me back years to where I was born when you would hear that saying, thank you!
  12. Enjoying your comments very much, just to pick up on FIJI it is a very safe place to visit, they are one of the most friendly people who live in the the South Pacific. You really have to get away to the Northern Islands of Yasawa to see the real FIJI, we find it much better to get a local driver and a few other passengers from the ship to really get a feel for a place. BULA.
  13. Sometimes you will find someone in the laundry who wants to iron all their clothes at the one time and really does not care if you only want to iron a shirt and get out of there.
  14. Sorry but feet on lounges is one of our pet hates, other folks have to sit where your bare feet are. I believe there are quite a few hotels in this location you can have a room for a layover for a few dollars.
  15. Not sure the channel but on all my cruises I was able to have a look at US stock prices.
  16. We have not sailed for 3 years due to Covid and only segments of world cruises, but can assure you if you have any problems onboard you will be taken seriously this is one of the reasons we travel Cunard. Enjoy your world trip on QM2 and do not forget those dancing shoes!
  17. We also used the room door menu for breakfast, room service for dinner was the same as in the PG dining room and was delicious.Sorry no menu's
  18. The only thing we got going through the canal was a great talk from the bridge and the history along with the view, same for South America Valparaiso to Buenos Aires. Do agree with Hattie go check it out.
