  1. Let’s clear up some confusion. A lot of people get confused when dining in the MDR to what line they need to be in . Basically there are two lines with My Time Dining, One line is with people with reservations and the second line is for people without reservations. But here is the way to bypass all that. Make a reservation for the first night and tell the manager at the podium that if you like your table and waiters you would like to stick with them all week. In our case we got a two top table by the window and our wait staff was excellent. We expressed desire to have the same reservation every night, same time and same table. They book it for you and told us to bypass both lines and go past the two front podiums to the second set inside the dining room. We check in and then we escort ourselves to our table. Easy peasy. This is the way to dine in the MDR.
  2. Here is the unedited version of the Star Trails from Liberty of the Seas, Aft Balcony recording for about 10 hours.
  3. If you don’t mind making a frozen drink a Kraken Colada is real easy. Kraken colada recipe 16oz ice 5oz colada mix 2 oz Kraken Dark Spiced Rum Mix in blender Pour 1 ox Kraken on top as a floater or go to Kraken’s website where they have a ton of recipes. https://www.krakenrum.com/cocktails/#
  4. Yep you got that right! I have been extremely impressed. Especially with vibrant colors and in low light. May not replace DSLR cameras just yet but getting so much better. Order it as Kraken Lava Flow with a Kraken Floater. They will not do the floater unless you ask for it. Welcome to the kraken klub!
  5. Welcome to the Kraken Klub! Unleash the monster!! Lol, I wouldn’t be surprised. It wasn’t the rum that was so bad but whatever fruit juice they used as it was very bland. Red Stripe was good but $5 a bottle or 5 in a bucket for $20 The guide asked if I wanted a massage. I said no because of a broken collarbone. I did ask how much. She said $20 for 15 minutes. I told her I got one in Costa Naya for $20 for an hour. She seemed annoyed at my reply.
  6. Just chilling in the solarium with a Kraken Lava Flow and some lightning in the area. Pools closed sorry folks. Love me that Kraken floater yea mon. I think this Jamaican slang is rubbing off.
  7. A few more pics and observations from the Bamboo Beach Club. Panorama Ice cream dessert was good with what I think was banana bread. A few other things, they said there was free internet but when they gave us the password it did not work. They did do a complimentary shot of white and dark rum and fruit juice with coconut cream base. It was good. Sorry no pictures. They also took pictures of all of us I am assuming to sell but they never got around to it. Reason why? We were 45 minutes late into this excursion because we had to wait for a couple to show up at port before the bus could leave. They never showed so our whole experience was supposed to last 5 hours and was really shy of 3 hours. I say leave them. If you can’t show up to your assigned time and spot you lose. sorry Charlie! It was a nice day and relaxing. As we were leaving I could see the storm clouds roll in. It started raining hard the moment we got off the bus. Needless to say we were soaked by the time we got on board. Forgot to mention Harmony was in port with us. Had a good horn battle when we left. Also I forgot to post pictures of the wonderful decorations Naria our cabin steward put in Linda’s cabin for our anniversary. Wasn’t that sweet of Maria?
  8. That’s what I think. It’s not bad but I prefer a regular Old Fashioned. Good bitters can tame the sweetness.
  9. Lol, we are actually on Deck 9 Aft. I’m 9403 Inside and Linda 9404 Aft Balcony. I’m proud that I was able to hold it on my bad shoulder without too much pain. The sacrifices I must make for a good pic. Forgot to add that was the official @Ocean Boy pose.
  10. That looks way more crowded. I’ve made note of Captain Marvin for the future. Thank you so much
  11. Bamboo Beach Club Current Position Beach is kinda small. Some rocks and the darker area is sea grass. Nothing compares to yesterday’s sand bar. Complementary rum punches. Tasted horrible. No ice Luke warm Switched to red Stripe for $5 each. Food was good. Jerk Chicken, fish, rice, slaw and a bread dessert. Nice place but the beach area wasn’t that great. Food and service was outstanding. Rum punch a downer. Will I come back probably not. I still enjoyed myself it was a relaxing afternoon.
  12. Many of you know me as a Christmas freak. I put up seven trees and have an extensive Santa collection that my mom started. Many of them hand carved. So when I saw this I had to have it. Meet Santa Sea Dog. personalized for me.
  13. Just announced Kilo, Kilo, Kilo, crew drill not for passengers . Then the fire alarms went off. Interesting.
  14. 9:30 am had a Bravo Bravo Bravo call then a call for staging area in deck 1 luggage area…. Hmmm fire?
  15. Breakfast in the MDR. So last night I asked my waiter Eka if it would be possible at breakfast to get some Indian Scrambled Eggs called Bhurji. They are basically a Indian style spiced scrambled eggs popularly known as Anda bhurji. Anda is a Hindi word that translates to eggs and bhurji refers to scramble. I really liked them because they have so much flavor and are a little bit spicy. I thought it was great that they made something off the menu for me. Most of the chefs are from India and they cook a lot of Indian favorites for the crew. Most of you know this but for those who don’t you can always ask for Indian food in the MDR. They will be so happy to accommodate you. My waiter this morning from India seemed very happy that I requested it and enjoyed it.
  16. You should do it. They are so gentle and soft. A couple of the kids kinda freaked out but hey they were kids. It was probably the best experience we have ever had. The time with the Sting Rays was about 45 minutes. People were just enjoying the water but I too wish we were there longer.
  17. One of the new features on my Go Pro 11 Hero Black (Why the long name Go Pro?) is called Star Trails. Basically it’s a time lapse that follows the trail of stars through the night sky. I was concerned how it would turn as the ship was moving. Star Trails is meant for the camera to be in a stationary position. You will see some of the smoke from the ship’s smokestacks but for the most part I’m pleased with the result. It was a beautiful stary night last night after trying the previous 3 nights. Here is a short video edited in the GovPro app. I’ll post the full video later when I can get it uploaded. Enjoy!!
  18. Remember These???????? I remember my parents taking me on a vacation cross country. We stayed at one of those road side motels with the colorful neon signs along Route 66. The motel’s bed had one of the massage beds and for a quarter the bed would vibrate for about 10 minutes. My brother and I convinced Dad to drop in a quarter to try it. We never giggled so much in our lives. So watch Tom The Turkey Towel. I slept like a baby last night. The gentle vibration from the ships engines and the slight rocking from the sea put this Sea Dog in heaven. I completely forgot about the pain in shoulder. And hey I didn’t have to put in a quarter! Soon breakfast in the MDR. We are at Falmouth, Jamaica and will be at the Bamboo Beach Club for VIP lunch and drinks. Yeah Mon!!!
  19. I was amazed at how many there was. There was 2 other tour boats with us so they must have had good numbers too. The guide had a big bag of squid. The rays went crazy when he brought that out. So I think the large numbers that came out know that it will be feeding time.. I am still amazed that the handlers know the one ray that comes to them everytime
  20. The stingray handler showed us the underside and you could see that face. How lovable is that? I wish I could of gotten video it. One thing hard shooting with the Go Pro is that I had no snorkel mask. I was standing in 3.5 to 4 feet of water. I could only point the camera in the right direction and only pray that I got the stingray in the shot. I’m going to put together a better video after I get home incorporating some of the sound from the handler as well as the pictures they took of Linda and I.
  21. My only saving grace has been Starlink. I’m trying to keep up but it’s hard because I don’t have a lot of stamina right now with my shoulder hurting. What really hacked me off was I worked really, really hard on my chefs table post. First writing it in notes then copy and pasting it. I started uploading and inserting pictures. At one point I saved and submitted so I could edit on it more. On the second edit CC algorithm’s felt I was taking too long and cancelled me out. So I was stuck with one post that had no pictures half way through it. I had to make a new post to finish it. It looked sloppy and made me mad. I like my stuff to be neat and organized. It wouldn’t have happened if I could write from home on my computer and not my phone. Your live is fantastic and the same with John. You guys are real pros.
  22. Also nice to run into fellow CC’ers. This time I went down to the R-Bar to get a final night toddy and Linda a Diet Coke. I wasn’t wearing my sling (I know I should be right?) and I hear a gentleman from the other end of the bar say, “ Hey Sea Dog how’s the shoulder?” I answered and we got to talking. Turns out @cruisegus is from the quad cities and knew a long time News anchor Jim King. Who’s son Kris worked with me and Kris’s son was a news anchor in the Quad Cities. Wow what a small world. We talked cruising and points. He’s D+ but had booked several B2B in suites and will soon be Pinnacle. Good for you Jim. Love hearing these stories.
  23. Winner…winner….winner…set those puppies free. I’ll see your Woo Woo and raise you a Pierre Collins! Cheers John!
