  1. This is our fifth cruise on Royal but the first time we have seen so many stars. We had a total of 4 nights were the skies were crystal clear. I was in awe. There must have been millions up there.
  2. All packed up. Luggage tags attached. Sitting on the balcony one last time with cognac in hand . It’s been a fantastic week despite injury and pain. Liberty of the Seas is still a great ship to sail on. Great crew who take pride in what they do. My only disappointment was the bourbon selection on board and my inability to connect with one bartender all week. This is the first cruise where I stayed out of the Schooner Bar. The main highlight excursion was Stingray City. Unfortunately we never saw our adopted friend Elaine after our excursion together. I hope she had a good time. My fears of a wild drunken crowd from the Country Music Cruise was quickly put to ease. This was one cruise we’re everyone was polite and respectful. I met some really nice people. I’ll post a few more for our trip back home. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Sorry I didn’t get any Compasses to scan. I pretty much keep up to date in the app. No need for compasses in my book. Thanks for following along. This was my most viewed review yet. I hope you enjoyed more of a personal story. I was a story teller professionally for over 40 years until retirement. I like telling stories that are personal and ones that people can relate . It keeps my head in the game. And if I can make someone laugh or cry, give them some information they might find helpful or just plain entertain then my job is fulfilled. Good night friends. I’ll be up early getting some breakfast and making sure I take my meds and drink plenty of water.
  3. Our final night at Sabor Ever since Linda ate at Sabor on Harmony she has loved their Guacamole and Avocado Margaritas. So tonight on our last night it was time revisit. Yummy Avacodo Margarita Even more scrumptious is the made from scratch Guacamole. I could eat this and nothing else. Starter was a chicken and bacon pepper. For mains, Mexican steak so tasteful and delicious. And pork burrito. Add some Cheese Quesadillas. And a sampler dessert. All the food was great and we are stuffed. Time to go back to the cabin and pack. And some final cocktails on Linda’s balcony. I hope the stars are out again tonight.
  4. Thank you Maryann! I think you and Jim will love Liberty. I think she is still in good shape. The crew fantastic. And the food really, really good. Yes I will be taking my blood pressure Med first thing and carrying a couple bottles of water with me. She has already said that I’m not to drive hardly at all. She’s the boss so I’ll do what she says. No trying to be a tough guy here.
  5. We saw are one and only production show this whole cruise this afternoon. Saturday Night Fever. A hour and half production of the story and music from the hit movie. The Cast was fantastic. Due to licensing restrictions no video recording or photography is permitted . I squeezed off a couple at the end. I highly recommend this show. The two Puerto Rican dancers were unbelievable with their acrobatics. Fantastic show!!!!!!!
  6. Texas Country Music Cruise You heard me mention early on that this cruise was also a Texas Country Music Cruise featuring country artists that played a series of concerts for guests who obviously paid a fee for entrance. Today a couple of the artists played out by the pool area.I have no idea who they are as I’m not a country fan. I do however respect good musicians who are good at their craft. These musicians were very good and the crowd was into it. Here is a video clip I strung together. From what I hear the concerts were lightly attended. I don’t think the promoters got the number of people they wanted. Or the people found out there is a lot you can do on a cruise ship in the Caribbean than just sit in a room and listen to music.
  7. Pool area was really hot so we retreated to the Solarium where we found a bench by an open window and a nice breeze. Not pictured the two Miami Vices with Kraken Floaters I drank. Bartender’s only put 1oz of alcohol total in a Miami Vice where as when I make them at home 3oz’s. I thought I would try a Caribbean Mule. I Really like the fact Royal uses Strawfish Biodegradable Straws. Let’s save the ocean from plastic please.
  8. I like that color too. One of my other Sea Dog tee’s is that color. Your Lobster tails look a little small too. Ours were small too so that’s why I ate 4.
  9. Go Pro 11 Hero sunset Timelapse. Too bad heading north on the starboard aft side could not get the sun but still cool anyway.
  10. The Hennessy Black was very good. For the price I really like the Remy Martin 1738 Acord. Great advice John. I also like the non connected via the balcony route. Nice thing being aft and having rooms across the hall from one another is there is not much traffic. I never see anyone in the hallway.
  11. Last day at sea. 😢 How nice it was to be led to our table we have had every night in the MDR. Now this is a first! Double Espresso served in a paper cup. What happened to all the Espresso cups? Brioche French Toast. I’ve had this almost every morning. It’s so good. Nice and hot too. Omelet with Ham, onion, mushrooms and cheese. Made to order. Very hot. I love it. One more breakfast tomorrow when we depart.
  12. Thanks Katherine that is a great idea to look into too. Obviously price would factor into it but I’m sure on an older and smaller ship it might very be cheaper than a single balcony on a larger ship. I’m sure itineraries factor into it as well. OMG this is awesome. Wish I had it last night . I’m going to download it now!!!
  13. Did it have the Sea Dog logo on front? I’ve never seen that one before. I like it.
  14. So how was the event? I got a flyer in my stateroom but it said tomorrow. So the. Ext day when about 25 we’re waiting and waiting and the doors to the theater were closed, thought this is odd. So someone went and asked and were told it was yesterday. The flyer had the date but who’s counting dates? Bummed I missed it.
  15. Linda and I talked about it last night. I will say it may not make financial sense on some sailings, but on this sailing a balcony and inside cabin was cheaper than our balcony on Symphony. Obviously easier on smaller and older ships. We said that this was like having a two bedroom suite. The ability to have two bathrooms, two closets, two desks and two sofas was huge for us. The only thing you have to be willing to accept is that your hallway from one bedroom to another is a public one. We even had guest services give me another key so I can easily go to her cabin without knocking even though we a code knock to let the other person know it’s us and not a cabin steward. We both slept really well and we will fo this again if the price is right.
  16. Ok one last one. If you pull this up full and then zoom in you can see how bright the stars are. There are millions of them tonight. I can’t help question Who are we? Why are we here? Is anybody out there? Why does my shoulder still hurt??????? Goodnight. Tomorrow is a sea day for our last day. I’m sad.
  17. Went down to the “R” bar for a nightcap. Somehow the blackness of space deserves this in all its richness.
  18. I wish all of you were here to be on our aft balcony. The stars look amazing. It’s a bright clear sky. I’m trying to capture it on the Go Pro with a 30 second shutter. It still doesn’t capture the beauty that I see. When you look up and see millions of stars it’s breathtaking. I feel so small yet so alive.
