The poster appears to be sailing on the Navigator of the Seas. I don’t believe the Navigator has a Coastal Kitchen. They are only on the Oasis class and the Quantum class.
OOPS: @firefly333 beat me too it! 😁

Hello Andrew and Lisa
Please take good care of the Symphony for us! We will be boarding the day you disembark. 🤗
Hubby and I live an hour away from the port in central NJ, so no flights or hotels needed.
It’s just so darn easy cruising from Bayonne.
Have a wonderful time, and Happy Anniversary!

Harry,
As usual, your trip report is fantastic! As you stated, you are from San Francisco and have not visited many tourist attractions. I am from NJ and never go to NYC. Funny how things work out. You have a beautiful family, and you are still your witty self!

The float away lounge on this site would just LOVE a good train saga! Please consider it. I know the reports you do must be incredibly time consuming, but on a selfish note, I just love them!

I appreciate your response. I was on Symphony in 2018, but for some reason, I’m drawing a black on the ship. Your reply sparked my memory of the shows…much better than Oasis (except Aqua 80 which cannot be topped in my opinion 😊).
thanks again!

Thank you for a great ride along! It was terrific!
I have a question…
You and your family have sailed Harmony a few times. I think this was your first sail on Oasis, an older ship. Did you notice much of a difference, or do you have a favorite between the two ships?
Oasis has sailed out of Bayonne, NJ for the past few years, and I have fallen in love with her. We will be on the Symphony sailing out of Bayonne for three cruises this year. I hope to love the Symphony as much as the Oasis!

Hi Harry,
You have a lovely family! Thank you so much for your terrific report. I’m a little sad that it is over 😐. But…I will now look forward to your Carnival Jubilee report.
We will be sailing on Odyssey of the Seas from Bayonne in January 2025. It is a 12 nighter to San Juan, St Thomas, St John, Barbados, St Lucia, and St Maarten. We have been to this ports in the past, but still enjoy them. As a bonus, no flying required.
I hope you enjoy your New York City trip!

Thanks for reporting back on the words in the ceiling. I would have never thought about looking up to see the words if I wasn’t bored standing in line waiting for them to open in the morning.
I apologize for intruding on your vacation by having you upload a picture while you are out on the Sea.
You could have waited until you got back to reply but I appreciate your quick response. After you come back from the cruise (not now), tell me how was the sail away from NJ? Do you see much of NYC skyline sailing away?
It would fun to go to NYC in December to see the holiday decorations and then sail out to see the NYC skyline but I don’t think our clothes in CA are ready for the NYC in December. The stores here sell the “winter” clothes designed for CA winter, not NYC winter. It’s not as bad as trying to buy a parka jacket in Hawaii but I don’t think our CA winter clothes will survive a NY winter storm.
Hello again Harry
We are home from our cruise, and want to answer your Bayonne NJ sail away question…
If you are truly lucky, the Captain will sail the Hudson to the Statue of Liberty, then turn around and sail out to the ocean. We sail out of Bayonne very frequently as we live only 1 hour from the port. We have been very lucky about 4 times, and less lucky about 25 times, so please don’t count on it. It depends on the captain, the weather, the port traffic, clearance, and I’m sure a host of other factors. But, if you ARE lucky, the view is spectacular!Once you are onboard, you can still see the NY skyline and Statue of Liberty in the distance. Still nice 😊.

I’m on the Anthem of the Seas now. Men have been wearing shorts and a nice shirt in Coastal Kitchen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
A few more pants than shorts, but only due to the weather. Sailing from Bayonne NJ in February is very chilly! 🥶

Open, Open, Open….
I was the first person in line waiting for the magical 7 AM opening
While in line, I noticed there were words on top of the café. Never paid attention to it until I was bored standing there. So for those who will be sailing on the Odyssey, look up at the cafe.
Are the words on all the Q-class ships?
Hi Harry,
Yes, the exact same words are on the Anthem of the Seas. I added a photo, but not sure I did it correctly.

I’m getting on the Anthem in about 3 hours. I’ll take a look and let you know 🙂

Nice review start!
We will be going to Hideaway Beach next week on the Anthem of the Seas.
My main question is the warmth of the pool. Was it warm enough to enjoy? It’s cold up here in NJ and I’m looking forward to the heated pool 😊
Also hoping the music is not blaring. We are in our 70’s and fully able bodied. We just don’t like blaring music 🤪
Thanks!

Several years back when I was on HOS and stayed in a Boardwalk Balcony, we received a complimentary meal for Johhny Rockets, is that something that is done anymore? This was in 2019.
Royal no longer offers this perk for any of the staterooms, including Boardwalk balconies

We have been sailing our of Bayonne for the past 10 years, mainly on Anthem, but also Oasis, Quantum, Liberty, Explorer, and I’m sure a few more I may have missed.
We always print our luggage tags in color. We also get to the earliest check in time, and arrive early to the port. We also always tip the luggage dude.
We usually book a Junior Suite, but have the same results when we book a balcony cabin.
Our luggage rarely arrives early, and we frequently get our luggage between 4 and 5 pm, and at times as late as 6:30. I find this annoying as I would love to be unpacked prior to dinner. Additionally, our luggage is never near our stateroom, but quite a hike down a long corridor.
BUT…If this is the worst thing in my life, I’ll count myself as being a very lucky gal. 😊
Happy Sailing!
