  1. Cabo is a tendered port. Does anyone have experience of taking a travel scooter ashore? We have an excursion booked and it would help getting around. I can't walk very far!
  2. We'll be in Cabo in a couple weeks and it's a tender port. We'll be on the Celebrity Solstice. Is it possible to take a scooter ashore? It's a Pride travel scooter that comes apart if that makes a difference.
  3. This is my first Princess cruise, but on other lines, they have you meet in somewhere like the theater nd call your group for the tender at the same time. That way you're all together and waiting in (relative) comfort!
  4. I hope this question hasn't been asked a thousand times, but here goes. We're booked on our first Princess cruise (usually Celebrity cruisers) to Alaska on the Discovery in September. There are various options for jewelry or just plain holders for the medallion, but are there third party options we should look at? Am I wrong in my impression that they are the same size as AirTags? What about fancy jewelry? Is it worth getting something nice? TIA
  5. We're sailing on the 28th. I'd hate for us to be the guinea pigs!!! 'Just step off the ship and round that corner, sir. If no-one shoots you, we'll know it's safe!!!'
  6. There are some pretty graphic reports coming from Sinaloa following the raid and arrest of el Chappo's son. Can anyone confirm whether Solstice is still stopping in Mazatlan or if there are any warnings/ redirections, etc. in place? https://mx.usembassy.gov/alert-reports-of-violence-in-sinaloa/
  7. I saw a TV show that said ALL fish and seafood served on a cruise ship is frozen! Something to do with killing a deadly parasite.
  8. Calling the cruise line is unlikely to get you any more than being told to contact the TA involved. they will not interfere. I would contact the TA and insist on escalating your case up to CE Sure, it sound rough, but there is an element of personal responsibility here. I'm sure you were informed of final payment dates when you booked and all you had to do was mark your calendar!
  9. There are many answers to your question depending on all the missing information in your post. For example, what cruise did you book (date, ship)? If it's more than 90 days out, you can simply cancel and rebook. Are the perks the same at the new price? Did you book direct or through a TA? This is who you should call. The rules are different in th UK, but if they apply, you should certainly get at least OBC for the difference.
  10. Disagree. We're looking at a suite for Alaska in early September and the Discovery Princess is a similar price to the Celebrity Solstice (within a couple hundred dollars) for almost the same itinerary. The latter has better suite facilities like a butler, Luminae restaurant and exclusive lounge and comes with $950 in OBC instead of $50 on Princess! Also, Princess has ONE accessible suite, which is missing many features like automatic door and more. In fact, we booked the Discovery and are seriously considering cancelling and rebooking Celebrity. we're on the Solstice to the Mexican Riviera next month and will decide for certain after that.
  11. This time doesn't even give you time to see your psychiatrist before boarding the plane! You've just spent a week relaxing, so why undo it all with the stress of trying to make a flight you'll most likely miss??? Try looking at Miami if you really must fly earlier than 3:00pm, otherwise have breakfast, breathe and take your time!
  12. In what way is it different? Accessible staterooms are few and far between and 'it's all that was available' is NOT an acceptable excuse! The OP has clearly stated that there are cabins available, albeit not in the category they want, so that potentially means that someone who really needs it is SOL because an able-bodied person decided they wanted it instead. Selfish and ignorant. There are no other words.
  13. With Move Up, you keep the same perks as your original booking so no, you won't get them added. You only get the points for your first booking too. You may get some things like access to Blu and the thermal spa (or whatever it is that's included with Aqua), but you won't suddenly have a drinks package, wifi or tips.
  14. No it doesn't. However, if you're in a suite, your butler can fill it with soda, ome wines and beers with no additional cost (just remember to tip him!). Again, no. The Plus package was stopped some time ago and is no longer an option. I double-checked with our sailing on the Solstice next month.
  15. Yes, you get a version of ESPN relating to where you are in the world and the World Cup will be shown as well as some NFL games. Your daily sheet will tell you where it’s shown - as well as usually in your state room.
  16. Both. The noticeable difference is a total of $200 refundable deposit on Princess and a non-refundable $500 on Celebrity. We'll wait until after out cruise on Solstice next month before deciding, but given that she's due to be 'revolutionized' in May, it's leaning that way.
  17. Only on Celebrity. We were on the Apex in an accessible Sky Suite in January and loved the experience.
  18. I'm looking at an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle in early September next year and the whole package prices and offerings are considerably better on Celebrity. Comparing a Penthouse Suite on Princess to a Sky Suite on Celebrity for almost identical dates and itinerary, the former would cost $7400 with $$425 OBC vs. $7300 with $1400 on the latter (through a TA) with today's offers. The latter also offers a butler, Luminae restaurant and a better looking overall experience. One advantage to Princess is the cost of the specialty restaurants with the main ones costing $30 compared to $60 plus gratuities for Murano on X. The OBC takes care of that, though. Celebrity has more accessible options with things like automatic doors (essential with a mobility scooter!), whereas Discovery Princess only appears to have ONE accessible suite on the whole ship! I admit that the Solstice is an older ship than Discovery, but we'll e on the former next month, so we can assess
  19. Thanks all for the (surprisingly) honest feedback. From what I’m seeing, Princess suites are fine for those who haven’t had the experience of other suite offerings. The Celebrity Solstice sails on the same day and has a similar itinerary, so I’m thinking I might just move the booking. We’ll wait until after our cruise next month to be sure, but I think I’m leaning that way.
  20. Yay! I just cancelled and rebooked our tour in Mazatlan next month and saved $12. Not a lot, but it was a cheap tour anyway and any saving is a good saving!
  21. Neither. You’ll find better prices on Amazon.
  22. Yes, we had an accessible Sky Suite on the Apex in January. We'll be in a similar class on the older Solstice next month.
