LIVE!!! ICON OF THE SEAS INAUGURAL
BecciBoo replied to cruisinghawg's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I think it's like It's A Wonderful Life. I've watched that every year for about 60....and Oz for maybe 40 yrs and I'm 73, I can't wait to see Oz. Neither of those would ever bore me, just put me back in my glorious childhood days and let me sing all the songs right along! The puppet dog kinda bothers me, I wish they'd used a real puppet on wire from above instead of the guy scurrying around, or maybe just keep Toto in the basket throughout...but ya can't have everything. I am not a Mama Mia fan, I watched it the first time and left in 20 minutes, watched the second time all the way through, that's enough for me. Not a Cats fan either, but love real cats!...but it takes all kinds to make an interesting world, no problemo. -

This slides vid is awesome. At the 2:00 mark it shows the steps up to the top which are more steps than stairs so I may be capable to go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um3ssjj_7Ok -

I'll try to get you a review of our room then....It's right back of the elevator bank..just steps away. It was the cheapest ADA I could get at the time, but it looks like a pretty good location now, we go up or down to nearly anything but the pools and I can walk that short a distance with patience. Also, I saw a video on the slides today and it showed the steps leading up to the top, they are surprisingly not steep at all so I think I'll be able to do some of those too. Woohoo. If anybody wants to see it at the 2:00 mark it shows the steps, more steps than stairs...like it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um3ssjj_7Ok -

For me and me only mind you! A waste of time and certainly of money...maybe if it were free like the zip line but no way $$. -

I am amazed at how massive the elevator bays are, the circular area is humongous! -

I am interested in seeing all the various pools up close and personal, the Cove, Cloud 17 and Hideaway in particular. Thanks for your time and including us, can't wait! -

booked onboard but tied to original travel agent
BecciBoo replied to CaribNomad's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We used to have this problem a few times which is why I don't use an agent anymore. . If you use an agent, then the next cruise is automatically connected onboard unless you expressly tell them you do not want that. They had a form they sent me to transfer from the agent back to RCCL Don't know if that is the case now. But it was never a problem, just a hassle. So now I'm my own agent. LOL -

Yeah, since every critical observation you've made has nothing to back it up and you said you wouldn't even cruise her. LMAO -

Just finished looking at Matt's pics of the Suite Neighborhood. It is most certainly not full of cheap furniture or deco. It's very modern and much bigger than Wonder's. It has a pool just not with glass nor loungers in the water like Wonders. Totally adequate and very well done. -

I've heard it all before when Oasis came out...same criticisms, same claims of "I'll never sail that behemoth" Now 6 of them all sailing full, and a seventh now booking! All those naysayers are now sailing the ship they swore would break RCCL! Time will tell. I'll put my money on Icon. -

Again, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder: But the whole thing looks uninspiring, sterile, - hardily luxurious/exclusive. Perhaps it's the furniture, colors, textiles... something just isn't right. It almost looks like it was furnished with pieces from Target or Homegoods. To you maybe, not to me. It's subjective. I think it looks Fabulous! And I really don't care where they bought the stuff. And BTW, I have many pieces from Home Goods, one of my favorite shops. -

I cruise because I want to be on a ship in the ocean. Not for perks. We are not wealthy by any means but we can afford it. I have always been happy with the product. Certainly nothing RCCL does with a swimming pool will change that. -

I would much rather have had Cloud 17 also, but they may still make changes and I'm not worried. I think the first few months of exit questionnaires will help them rethink things. I will certainly let them know my true sentiments. But the other features on this exceptional vessel are more than worth any disappointment I have about this latest development. I don't think Hideaway are is large enough to provide an adult only pool venue, but the bar and lounging areas are pretty appealing. That pool isn't any smaller than the average Oasis sister has in Solarium anyway. -

Aquadome is a tradeoff for Surfside not a Solarium. The area behind Aquadome, the Overlook is more a tradeoff for Solarium, just no water, but then Harmony doesn't have that either.
