@colesc15 try it, if you hate it, don’t do it again. Since it is comped with cheap airfare you won’t be out much. I usually sail with my sister, but have cruised on my own as well and will again.

Live from Liberty; part I of b2b
Cherful59 replied to sadiwest's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Agree communication. I asked for extra hand towels on my list cruise and every day had extra wash clothes instead. It was only a short 4 night, so I didn’t worry about it. My next is 13 nights, and I will get hand towels this time somehow. 🙃 Congratulations times 3. You have a lot to celebrate! P.S. Love Liberty, sailed on her 5 times probably out of Galveston. -
Planning Europe Cruise - ?s for you experts
Cherful59 replied to wolfganghowell's topic in Ask a Cruise Question
I alway check to see which airlines fly to and from destination thru air to sea, then I check the individual airline to see flights available and fits my schedule since they don’t always show up in air to sea website. If they do, they will give you a price for each class of seat. If you can’t find what you want try calling, I do and eventually they find them and pick the class seat you want. If they cannot assign seats, and you want specific ones, check the airline website once you book. Some will let you pick seats early, and some won’t. Otherwise watch the websites and when seats start filling up pay early as suggested, so you can pick. I tend to wait and check prices often, as you can reprice before final payment is made. I repriced and saved over $400.00 on my next flight by doing this. I don’t know if they will do that if you pay early. -
Cruise cancelled - if move to another ship/date?
Cherful59 replied to little britain's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I had looked at this itinerary also. So glad I didn’t book it now. Sorry for those that did. -
Need some tips for a larger sailing group
Cherful59 replied to ticketsunlimited's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Have them download the app before the cruise and show them what they can see on it and use the chat feature onboard ship to keep in touch. Remind them to put their phones in airplane mode, so no ugly phone bills when they get home. -
Agree. I do alot of hand washing and or use sanitizer before and after I get my food.

Need some tips for a larger sailing group
Cherful59 replied to ticketsunlimited's topic in Royal Caribbean International
@ticketsunlimited I am sure you know about adventure ocean which is free during the day and evening hours (until 10pm I think) Sign the kids up the 1st day during the time it shows registration is open. The 5 year olds spent a couple of hours on 2 occasions and enjoyed it. I just sailed with (2) 5 yrs olds, almost 6 and (1) 12 year old. Be flexible and don’t expect to dine or do everything together all of the time. The kids get hungry/sleepy when they get hungry/sleepy (5year olds), which I am sure you know. Out of a 4 night cruise they hit the dining room 2nights, otherwise it was the windjammer or pizza when they were hungry, or found something they liked. Of course they also want to do different things. Have the ones that are unfamiliar with the ship go on utube and review the ship and things to do. We were on Freedom and all had a great time. Enjoy your cruise! -

I am on the July 5th Arctic Circle cruise @twangster and @Hoopster95. Thank you for all of the commentary, tips and pics. The British Isles is also on my bucket list, so again, thank you Twangster for all of the information. -
@darla723 Sorry no, I never have that many points. I use mine for cruise credit on my cruise. Then purchase excursions, gamble whatever.

Thank you for letting me know. Now that I have seen pictures of them from Hoopster and Twangster, the lead singer looks very familiar. They were great. Beautiful -
RCI Credit card reward points
Cherful59 replied to migdet71's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It doesn’t cost me anything and I always charge my RCCL cruises, excisions and anything I purchase from them on it and periodically other things, so I agree, the onboard credit has been nice. -
@3red7s The above sounds like a good hotel, but if you want to look for others, sign into something like Expedia and put in Galveston. Just keep in mind RCCL has it’s new terminal, but the old one is still in use so if being close to the terminal is important to you, make sure pick a hotel close to the RCCL Terminal. Galveston has a variety of hotels and none of them are real far from the terminal, but you would need to Uber to the port in many cases, depending on your capabilities and how far away you are, but I usually stay with my nephew in Houston so I get to visit with him when I get down there. I love cruising out of Galveston. Enjoy your cruise!

RCI Credit card reward points
Cherful59 replied to migdet71's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have never gotten enough points for a cruise, but I don’t exclusively use this card. I do onboard credit as well, for purchases, casino, gratuity, what ever works. 5000 points will get you $50.00 in on board credit. -

Status Match - Thinking About Jumping Ship from NCL
Cherful59 replied to alezal32's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I haven't yet, but I am going to spend some additional time in the casino's on my next 2 trips and who know, maybe I will also get an offer. From what others are saying here, it does not sound like a bad deal for @alezal32 even if he can't match point for now. -
Bringing wine on board
Cherful59 replied to West Windsor girl's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I have read where people have been charged and others not. We bring a small wine bottle opener in our checked luggage and just fill our glasses in our room and don't worry about it. You can ask your room steward to bring wine glasses, or ask at one of the bars for them as you are headed to your room. -
Ketogenic eating on a cruise ship
Cherful59 replied to velocepede's topic in Royal Caribbean International
@velocepede I would try asking someone in the windjammer for avocado as I have seen them serve avocado toast in the morning and tacos in the afternoon with guacamole as a side. The worst they can tell you is no they don’t have it is cruise. As for evoo again ask windjammer/dining staff if you want to wait until on board. You could also try emailing RCCL about your dietary needs before you cruise. I cannot remember who you would email, but someone on CC will probably post it, otherwise call RCCL and ask who to email. -

@twangster I just think of Gillian’s Island every time I read “an 8hour tour”. Although I think Gillian’s was a 3 hour tour. Thanks for the pictures. I think Iceland might have to go on my bucket list. -
@binro01 Quantum seems to have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to Skagway. I heard it had something to do with the number of ships in port on the day Quantum is scheduled to be in port, but I do not know if that is correct or not. I did enjoy my whale watching in Icy Strait however. The Dungeness crab was just meh in my opinion. People seemed to enjoy the snow crab however. Enjoy!

Cherful59 replied to mandyleighflies's topic in Margaritaville at Sea
@mandyleighflies I for one am glad you let us know you were posting as I have followed you before and have enjoyed your posts. I will need to read up about the ship and cruise line after I get off of Freedom however as I am cruising with family on a 4 night starting 6/3. Enjoy your cruise and time with your friend. -
@3red7s So glad to see a current great review for Lady G. I was on her 2 years ago, had a great time and absolutely loved her. As for reviews, I try and take them with a grain of salt and have never been disappointed in a Royal ship/crew. Glad you had a great time.
