  1. Do you have a United credit card or high status with United? If I am asked to pay, I'm hoping to do so with miles. I'm just not sure about the codeshare flight on Air Canada No just a USAA card .... maybe status?? Are all those flights for just 1 trip?? Maui -> LV -> CA -> Florida Montreal ->Denver -> Maui?
  2. Surprisingly, upgrading from United Economy to Economy Plus doesn't include a free bag. I'm counting on my United Credit Card for that. In June, I will fly from Maui to Las Vegas; LV to California; California to Florida; Montreal to Denver; and Denver to Maui. I would hate to have to pay a bag fee on every flight. I think I will only have to pay it on the first flight (Hawaiian) because I don't have their credit card. Wonder why I don't pay? (Actually my 17" works fine for anything under 10 days. Over that I really do prefer my 22")
  3. I book United on EZAIR all the time & I've never had a problem getting free bag checked or selecting my seat once I enter my mileage # on the Princess website. Also prefer UAL bc the upgrade from economy to economy plus is more reasonable
  4. @Kay S I bought 3 on app the first day of my cruise (4/6/24). When I tried to refare my January cruise (lower price + 200 extra OBC if booked onboard in addition to the FCD OBC) O.N.E. did ask for my cc but I declined and used the new FCD instead. Not too much push back. @PastryPal did Princess Promotions call back?
  5. I had my September 2020 Aussie cruise redeployed several times. Each time the voyage was a day or two longer but price / ezair / perks price protected. Wound up with a 21 day cruise at an awesome price Agreed .... besides Discovery, which grand class ship do you think will replace Grand Princess downunder?? Crown .... isn't that the ship with repeated engine issues??
  6. My CVP laughs when the conversation goes to “promotions”. Most think it was a bad idea I just got a call from the CVP line & someone telling me to contact them before booking my next cruise instead of my CVP. And she knew my cruise history + the pending 4 cruises + my unused 2 FCDs. 1st call went to voice mail so I emailed my CVP asking if she was going ... kinda weird since she just cleared up an issue with my next cruise. 2nd call from "P***" where she ID'd herself as Princess Promotions. Doesn't fit my need as I have no issue getting reasonable-to-me accommodations. But a little irritated with the call. So if someone isn't on cruise critic they might erroneously think Princess Promotion employees are Princess not O.N.E. employees because they use the CVP main phone number + their extension # Sounds like a timeshare.
  7. Fortunately my 2nd (and probably last bc I won't give my bank stmt) trip to Brazil will be in January 2025
  8. @justhavingfun @gottagocit was recommending it on my Majestic Princess cruise from Buenos Aires to Fort Lauderdale after staying there in Feb 2020. Maybe ask on your roll call too?
  9. All I'm doing is repeating what the PVP told me. She told me she has either to book it or to deposit it to have it assigned to her, and she said she couldn't work the booking if it wasn't assigned to her. It appears that different PVPs are giving different answers to the same question. Inconsistent answers from Princess. What a surprise🙂 Replace couldn't with won't work bookings they don't get credit for. Not at all a surprise that some don't want to work when they don't get credit
  10. Last cruise Royal Princess 4/6-4/27/2024 Requested "deconstructed" egg sandwich (egg, slice cheese, toasted English muffin, no bacon), juice, marmalade, coffee / cream & got it!
  11. Why do they not allow tawny port? We brought a bottle of tawny port onboard in New Zealand and nobody said a thing Staff at table said fortified isn't allowed but that wasn't in New Zealand
  12. No. There's often a wine table right after security. In heavy wine producing areas (Chile, Argentina, France, Italy, Australia) they don't seem to care about 1 bottle of unfortified wine but charge $20 (A$30) for each bottle over that. Anyway that's been my experience. YMMV See you in January!!
  13. Well they weren't in mine so I grabbed one from Crooners. I am the lowlife that only cruises in a balcony, apparently suites set-ups are different
  14. I didn't "steal," I grabbed one for the bottle in my room bc I couldn't get a glass from my steward (he was too busy). I'm not waiting for a wine glass when they're within reach. Any old wine glass will do. Doesn't need to be Reidel. Adding: It's still on the ship & I'm home now. If the ship wants to resolve this issue they can let stewards have clean wine glasses in their carts like they have clean highball glasses. They know the minibar is often traded for a bottle of wine (I traded for Charles & Charles Rose)
  15. Kendall Jackson Chardonnay $12 Flowers Sonoma Coast Chardonnay $40 Yeah, more expensive doesn't always mean preferred by individual palates. I prefer Whiskers Blake Tawny Port to Taylor's. (1st choice still Sandemans 20 yr)
  16. Huh. Odd amount to do a card # check. Isn't that usually just $1?
  17. No and factor in that they tend to do 6 pours per bottle so you can factor that in the when determining costs. FWIW Kim Crawford Chardonnay is A$18 per glass. 6×18=A$108+18%. For a A$22 bottle. BUT my bottles tend to be a lot more (I just used KC as an example as it was the one I took to our roll call wine sharing event). I usually carryon 3+ and am prepared to pay corkage
  18. $1.50 or $1,500? It should now be $×(the original amount) less the $1.50 (or $1,500) just paid. I have never been able to overpay. If I later change something (like lowering airfare) and have a credit then I am refunded that in a few days, but might have to contact my CVP to trigger it
  19. ANA was Japanese 1st then English Sunday. But to be expected on a Japanese airline
  20. I just ask my CVP. She extended one 4 months for me back when they were good for 24 months. But haven't asked her now that they're only good for 12 months. Still worth a shot Don't know if TAs can do it as they aren't Princess employees
  21. Carnival Corp lines: Aida - German Costa - Italian / English CSSC - Mandarin All others (Carnival, Cunard, Princess, PO, POAU, Seabourn) - English everywhere in the world
  22. Just off a 3 wk cruise on the Royal Princess and I saw everything from short shorts to fancy 'costumes' on formal night (think Cinderella not cosplay). The only thing I didn't see were kilts. But this was Australia to Japan Now I just need to figure out where to donate my formal dresses as they are obsolete-for-me
  23. I just have 1 glass wine with dinner but prefer my selection to theirs so I carry 1 for each 4 days onboard and trade the minibar for a mediocre-at-best one. Wish I could carry beer on too .... especially Pliny the Younger. But I've been stopped. So I wait until home to have a good beer. I don't like what I've tried. Odd thing is they don't care if I add 1 bottle in Australian or European ports. The table is sometimes there but they just want to check that it isn't hard liquor or tawny port (yes I got it back at the end)
  24. Wine skins easily protect up to 3 bottles in a 22" suitcase (yes I was prepared to pay corkage but they didn't ask) https://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-14969/Food-Bags/WineSkin
  25. Why are you waiting until October? To extend it just a couple of months??
