  1. I think ppl are interested in your critique, me too, as I think about trying Celebrity or Virgin. MSC is not my cup of tea But I'm personally unable to relate to a lot of it as I don't use Grub hub, have TSA not Clear (do use whyline sometimes which is the free version of Clear), DIY in ports, will never have a suite (booked min-suite once & that was a waste of $$s for solo me), and LOVE promenades. I haven't commented because as long as waiters are entertaining, musicians are good, performances entertaining (like 5 Skies, Rock Opera, Secret Silk .... did you make any of those? Your comparison to Celebrity??), it's all good I think what I'm clumsily trying to say is I'd like a comparison between the 2. IE: Princess - roving classical, jazz, blues, rock musicians Celebrity -? Princess - 3 performance shows with 21stC music Celebrity - Princess - walking / running track (Deck 5 MDR closed for private games 9am - 1pm with free continental breakfast, full rotating vegan menus, etc category suggestions) Celebrity - ???? Who is it who posts "A bad day at sea is better than a good day at home?"
  2. Thread made me look at just my next 2 cruises. Both green, getting medallion mailed to my home, and still standard. Maybe you got a 'secret' bonus @voljeep & @Sprocket??
  3. I did not need a test for the LA ->Hawaii->LA June 1, 2023 voyage.
  4. Loved 5 Skies last September Trans-Atlantic on the Enchanted Princess. It wasn't on the more recent voyages (other ships). Maybe it's still rolling out? Really hoping it stays around. My favorites (in order) are: 1. Secret Silk 2. 5 Skies 3. Rock Opera Actually love all the shows except Magic to Do & Stardust. Walked out of Magic to Do after 15 minutes & lasted less than that in Stardust.
  5. Never from Coral but no issue with other PDF, excel, or docs. Use docs ALL the time. But then this is the first time I've been waiting for a particular itinerary with a preferred ship to open. And I tried both excel & Adobe Anyway I'm hopefully in my 1st choice room.
  6. @Steelers36 and @PacnGoNow i agree that I SHOULD be able to open but sadly, no go. I'm on android are you on iPhone? @PacnGoNow thanks for the latter screenshots. Sent an email to my CVP with preferred room & date
  7. You're are not actually canceling you are either refaring (same booking #) or lifting and shifting into a new booking with the same room
  8. Hi almost neighbor (Clayton here). I'd ask my CVP for a price reduction (refare) unless her initials are PO as she doesn't know how. In that case I'd go to the general #. I DO NOT USE CHAT FOR REFARES (yes I'm shouting, intentionally) If you have ezair ask for a lift & shift to protect airfare. Almost all CVPs know how to do that. Adding: I go for refund rather than OBC
  9. I cannot open the file. Can you post a screen shot of the NEW YORK ones? (Not sure if those are separate but that's what I've been waiting for & I have FCDs)
  10. I do it every cruise. Assigned to a HW who takes a no pepper / low sodium pre-order dinner. Breakfast is easy. They also hand me the lunch menu in case I'm going to do more than a salad w/o dressing. I am used to omitting pepper but as I get older I've also had to restrict sodium. Miss salted caramel & pretzels.
  11. Yes. Requested a refare but it had to be a rebook. Initially rebook was going to be non-refundable (same as any new booking) but she found the correct code. Still the comment was that all new bookings were going to be non-refundable deposits next year. Her info has been correct before but I want her to be wrong. Let me forewarn everyone .... I will book a few options when the $1 deposit sale happens. Don't mind losing $1
  12. Thank you. We could all ask our CVP’s or TA’s. This is major and will definitely affect the way we book PLEASE ASK!! I was refaring from $2751 to $2023 fare (had to rebook as farecwas for new cruises only) and initially multiple fare codes popped non-refundable. She did find the right one but forewarned me that I'd need to factor that in on future drops. I'm ok with that as long as I know ahead of time so can factor it in. Just give me the rules
  13. I am looking for a TA or 2nd CVP to confirm.
  14. Bad news for this side of the pond: my CVP states that in a mtg last week they were informed that all deposits will be non-refundable next year. So we will need to factor that in when refaring ... that, insurance increase (minimal really), changing perks
  15. Short answer -- yes. Do it pre-embarkation. A very old experience (circa March 2020 but no idea why it couldn't still be accomplished). We were switched. I had my CVP work on it and whomever was put in our rooms (note plural) were given our upgrades and we were 'downgraded' to original side by side rooms again. Super important to me bc I put the kids in 1 room while I stay next door. Took a few days
  16. I understand ppl say that but I wanted to hear from current cruisers how it works IRL after August switch not 2nd hand repeating. Apologies if you found that irritating
  17. @rj59 i didn't have a problem in April, May, or June but that was before the change. Sounds like the August change doesn't matter (to me) as I'm ordering tea & switching anyway. Its the principle not the cost Lol @Belle explains why I couldn't find it! @LACruiser88 i don't have a kindle so I'm stuck old school
  18. Thanks everyone. My next voyage has A LOT of sea days so yeah, ordering elite tea (and bringing my own book as Enchanted Princess library is lacking at best) @Belle been thinking I need to get back over there but in the meantime 🖐
  19. My CVP has reassured me that calling room service for changing out minibar or ordering elite tea will not incur a charge as those are elite benefits. But how does this work IRL? If you have done this: 1. Were you charged $5 for the call 2. If so, did it drop off automatically like the laundry charge 3. If not, did guest services remove it Thanks in advance
  20. How so? I load $$ on at a slot machine, head to the cage, cashier loads $10 free play, and off I go .... to lose. Truth be told I wound up $65 one time but that was after losing all the free play & another $100. I figure how much I'm willing to lose, load that, when it's gone it's gone
  21. They used to give too much food and now they give even more. Yes that's a full plate of meat sandwiches under the cookies. But just 3 scones. I also recently had a soup bowl each of cream, strawberry jam, and marmalade with a dz scones .... for 1 person .... plus sandwiches, sweets, & cookies
  22. Figurative I am throwing away a lot of it this year 🤑 For those who set out candies do they like jelly bellies??? I can't get large bags of individually wrapped macadamia nuts like @cre8iv1 but I recently saw little individual bags of jelly bellies & it's sort of local to me (closer to Ghirardelli but Jelly Bellies is sort of over the bridge ..... believe it or not not everyone likes chocolate) And yes, I pick my 3 favorites and give them a shout out on the survey. I used to cruise A LOT on one ship with 2 favorite barristas at IC. Noticed one was missing on a following cruise then found him in Princess Live during the day. Turns out they get "promoted" if they get a lot of shout outs.
  23. Yknow I've been told that about chocolates but they disappear!!
  24. Although I've toyed with the idea if adjusting CA I keep them as-is, add as needed (setting up my elite tea, same table wait staff inc HW [special diet], steward), and add in a bowl of Ghirardelli chocolates for them to take one as desired (yes that bowl gets smaller and it's not just me). As do we in California. Minimum wage $16 hr [service workers $20 hr next year], company heathcare insurance mandatory, & 401k optional. USA is unfortunately a collection of 50 states with very different ideas
  25. Off topic but you paid more than I did (106k, don't you love Prop 13) As a solo I try to remember to do both. Lock door and DND. Problem is the steward won't clean my room if I forget to change it to 'Service Requested.' Yeah, I've forgotten to take it off before
