  1. Can you just imagine the chaos if you had to order via the app in the MDR!!! 😄
  2. LOL! My DW has the exact same issue as far as names. She has a similar "double name" as does Sue and once she married she had "2 middle names". That normally would not be too much of an issue...but The Princess IT team strikes again! The field length for their allowance of middle names is one character too short! In reality...it just doesn't matter (or at least hasn't mattered for at least 10 years.) As long as her passport is correct (and it is) we've never failed to get where we want to go!
  3. Glad you got it fixed! Just out of curiosity...was it just a spelling issue?
  4. How "wrong" is the name? Is it just a spelling issue or is it someone else's name? You pretty much have to go through Princess to get it fixed. You might try the chat function...
  5. There was a LOT of skepticism when CruiseCritic members first started getting these calls! There was almost no way to see a legitimate connection back to Princess. I'm glad to see that the topic is now addressed in the main Princess FAQ.
  6. Very easy to access the sockets behind the bed! Simply pull the bed frame and mattress away from the wall about 12 inches. They are very light and it takes very little effort to do. I do it all the time for CPAP access.
  7. I take the standpoint of..."Just let Princess handle my entire trip!" (Except airfare...I do that on my own!) Sure...I can have it a bit cheaper if I want to do a bunch of research and legwork...but how much money are we really talking about saving here vs the convenience?
  8. Guaranteed...there is *some* kind of outlet behind the bed...nightstand lamps have to be plugged in somewhere and hardwiring them would be CRAZY! They occasionally need to be replaced...
  9. 1) I guess that's a possibility. We've never had an issue getting transfers either straight to airport or to a hotel post-cruise. Like I said...this particular cruise was handled via a TA (very unusual for us) but if I remember correctly, they had me contact Princess directly to arrange for the hotel package. (I couldn't swear to that...) I just noticed that you said you are going through a TA...(sorry). Will he/she allow you to try directly? I'm pretty sure that I did it direct... 2) Nope...no "code". It just shows as an addition on our itinerary listing. LE CENTRE SHERATON MONTREAL Don't forget...Princess phone/chat reps are NOTORIOUS for giving incorrect info! I would call back to get another rep and see what kind of answer you get.
  10. Don't forget the "hidden" outlet behind the bed...
  11. Yeah...I really feel bad about the way I misled everybody! There really was something about a different category of gift card where you could get up to 25...and I did not read carefully enough!
  12. Just to clarify...I am using the E/F style adapter. Have yet to find a ship that it would not fit...unless of course it used a US-style plug behind the bed! (I think I had one on NCL...not sure.)
  13. Let me preface all of this by saying...we have never done this cruise before, so we don't know all of the details that might come up. That being said...we have done MANY Princess transfers on quite a few cruises. All I can tell you is what we have seen for EVERY other cruise we've done...it does not appear to ever deviate. Yes, booked through Princess but NOT as an excursion. Log in to your cruise personalizer (on Princess.com...NOT the app) and look under the Travel tab. There is a "Transfers" section...scroll down just a bit. For this particular cruise we are booked through a travel agent so it does not show up for us as it normally does. If you are booked through a TA you will need to go through them. Yes - bus shuttle. They will direct you to the proper bus as soon as you disembark the ship. We have never seen time options since it is right when you disembark. Yes, Princess transfers generally take you straight to the airport...or to a hotel if you are doing a post-cruise hotel package (as we are doing.) Hope this helps!
  14. Yes...there is a transfer. We are booked on it after a NY - Quebec cruise this fall. Flights are next to impossible out of Quebec (at least for us!) It is a basic transfer...no additional activities shown in the post above.
  15. Just recently off the Caribbean P in Feb. I had booked Plus at the old rate. I think everyone was "getting used" to the new program as far as the premium desserts were concerned. The only place that served these desserts was "Coffee and Cones". I was pretty sure that I had documentation that I had received very shortly before sailing that I was eligible for the desserts...maybe I was, maybe I wasn't. Anyway...the girl at "Coffee and Cones" basically was adamant that I did not have that benefit. The couple we were traveling with (that had booked the same time we did and with Plus...and standing right next to me) had no issue at all getting one! They graciously just ordered one for me. Now, after seeing exactly what I'd received (there were NO pictures available) I highly doubt that I will ever order one again...even now that I am FULLY booked under the "new Plus". They are basically serving up sugar comas! 😄
  16. As to USB charging...here is what I travel with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P936188/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
  17. Apologies to the OP...this thread has taken off on a tangent in regards to the power socket behind the bed. The OP *did* make a reference to a CPAP...I just wanted to point out options and alternatives to an extension cord running across the room. I had to do that on our first cruise after I started using a CPAP. I vowed that I would NEVER again be caught in a lurch in regards to where it plugs in and the inevitable trip hazard (my opinion) of the "ship-supplied" extension cord. Feel free to do whatever floats your boat (PUN INTENDED!) in using adapters!
  18. Here is the adapter that I am using: https://www.amazon.com/European-Adapter-Adaptor-Countries-Netherlands/dp/B008JCVF0U/ref=sr_1_19?crid=2YC72VL0V3Z7G&keywords=schuko%2Bplug%2Badapter&qid=1676657828&sprefix=schuko%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-19&th=1 Amazon has TONS of other styles, mostly that have built-in USB plugs. Just my personal opinion...a USB plug is pretty useless under the bed! That's why I use this particular plug. If your travels take you to other places where you could use that USB plug then by all means...go with one of those. Yes, there is almost always a bedside lamp plugged into the wall and it is the 220v European style plug. That's why you need athat second Euro plug as well as the US style.
  19. 1) very easy. Just pull the bed(s) away from the wall perhaps 12 inches and you should be able to get to it very easy. 2) My CPAP power adapter has the "non-keyed" style power plug so both prongs are the same size. If you need a 3 prong socket just toss in an adapter in your bag of tricks!
  20. We keep our suitcases under the bed as well. They are not the largest type...but bigger than carry-on size. Yes, you will be able to run your extension cord under the bed. Also (you may not need it) there is *usually a "European-style 2 prong wall outlet behind the bed on most Princess ships. I carry an adapter which splits out the sockets to an additional European style and a US-style in order to plug my CPAP in to it, while still allowing whatever was plugged into that outlet (usually the nightstand lamp) to be plugged in. Most CPAPs are dual voltage...but check your power adapter just in case!
  21. I would assume that this would be handled very similar to other bus transfers at other ports (I *could* be wrong...) Yes, they will generally wait ubtil the bus is at least "mostly" full...they know how many are coming in and when so you *might* catch a break there if it will be a long stretch of time for more pax. Luggage would be handed off to porters at the pier. You will probably take your bags a short distance to meet a porter...unless they are right there at the drop-off point.
  22. We are not Elite...(working on it!) but I have seen the Elite boarding line in FLL. You will pick up the medallion before you reach the boarding line point so don't worry about "no ID".
  23. It would help if you included the ship & itinerary... I am of the opinion that there are NO bad cruises to Alaska, having done so 3 times (so far). I know others have probably done many more. I personally really like Skagway and the White Pass Railroad. They do a couple of different runs with one actually crossing into Canada (passport needed!) The Lumberjack show is also very entertaining. One of our favorite excursions was the helicopter flight that landed on Mendenhall Glacier. We were able to get out and walk around for 45 min to an hour.
