  1. Everyone will have their own account (the kids are in their 20s). I have them all tied to 1 credit card, if that makes any difference. My husband and I ran into an issue on our last cruise (HAL) when we each put our own card on our accounts and his wasn't drawing down the OBC. Once we merged onto one credit card, it got sorted out.
  2. I see that my TA applied our OBC as Cruise Cash to each of our 3 staterooms. The problem is, it seems to be associated with only 1 person in each cabin. Can we go to Guest Services and get the Cruise Cash split between the 2 occupants of each cabin? I know it'll be easier for my husband and I and the 4 "kids" if it is divided. Also hope to have Tips hitting equally against the Cruise Cash for each person.
  3. Well, I'm not so sure the TA improved the situation. We decided to go all "Your Time". TA now has the "Early" cabin set as "NULL" and waitlisted for Your Time. Guess we'll have to go plead our case to the Maitre d' onboard. Maybe I should print out the original invoices that show all 3 cabins being Your Time...
  4. Just did a 30 day South American cruise. Turned them in at the beginning and got them back towards the end. Somewhere along the line they picked up cool stamps from the Falkland Islands, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay...Magic!
  5. If I remember correctly, you’re actually supposed to place them over a cup of coffee to warm them, then consume with the coffee to cut the sweetness.
  6. How have the evening activities been? We leave on the 6/18 Pride cruise. My daughter went on a Carnival ship back in early Dec. and said "the shows were bad and there wasn't much to do in the evening". (She's 25 - and all 4 of my 20-something kids are coming with us). Trying to decide between Your Time dining for flexibility or Early to catch the shows/activities.
  7. OP here - Sorry, I was off-line this weekend. Talked to the TA. Still not sure why one cabin was arbitrarily assigned Early. TA said if Your Time is selected, cabins don't need to be linked because you can request to eat together when you make your reservations. However, because we now have 1 cabin showing Early, he says we should be able to link and put everyone on Early. Otherwise, he'll change the Early cabin to Your Time. Family debate is currently which way to change. We have 3 vegans and 3 non-vegans, so Early may work better. However, the flexibility of Your Time is attractive to the 20-somethings (my kids). I appreciate everyone's input. TA said we could wait to fix on-board, but I'm not going to risk it. Going to get it sorted out today.
  8. Thanks. I said Hub but it was actually the Cruise Manager. I can see all 3 reservations and can “manage “ them. But I added that after I noticed the dining issue. TA is closed for the weekend. 🤪
  9. Yeah. Tried CCL last night. TA closed for the weekend so I’ll sort it out on Monday. 🤪
  10. Hmm. Guess I’ll have to call. Reservations made through travel agent. I thought they were linked because I made all of them together and it’s my husband and our 4 kids (in their 20s). They were all showing MTD until recently when the one weirdly changed to Early. Thanks for the advice
  11. Was just looking at details for our upcoming cruise on Pride. My original invoice says that all 3 of our cabins (6 family members) are My Time Dining. Now in the Hub, 2 of the cabins are My Time and 1 shows Early Dining. Should I attempt to resolve this when we get onboard, or will the cabin with Early be okay joining us for My Time every night? We haven't doing My Time on Carnival - just HAL and RCCL, where you just go and wait, no reservations.
  12. Curious whether security will allow a corkscrew. My husband got in trouble for forgetting his multitool was in his backpack getting back onboard an RCCL ship.
  13. Does Carnival charge a corkage fee for wine you bring onboard and open yourselves? (HAL does).
  14. Hopefully some of your fellow cruisers without bags will take the same initiative and find theirs....just sitting there...waiting for them...Hurray for you! Enjoy your cruise (and your clean clothes)!
  15. The AirTags have to find iPhones to update their position. If they're in the bowels of the airport - probably haven't "seen" an iPhone for a while. Glad you got seats!
  16. Heading out of the cruise after yours. Looking forward to hearing about the updated Pride. Enjoy your adventures!
  17. Thinking about renting bikes while in Kiel (if the weather is nice). However, it looks like SprottenFlotte (the bike sharing company) no longer operates there (as of 1/1/23). Any recommendations as an alternative? Is this a good option for a day in Kiel (6/27/23 from 7 am - 4 pm) or should we try a train to Lübeck? A little concerned about feeling rushed if it takes 1 hr 30 min to get from the port to train to Lubeck. Also - the port schedule shows our times as 10 pm - 7 pm, but Carnival shows 7 am - 4 pm...
  18. Ran across the "GoBoats" website for Copenhagen. Little electric boats with a picnic table in the middle that you can rent by the hour. Has anyone tried these as part of a port stop in Copenhagen? I know there is a wonderful thread about Copenhagen pinned to this forum - but only a passing mention of GoBoats. Would it be a fun option for a family of 6 (parents+4 20-somethings) if the weather is nice? We are in port from 10-4 at the end of June (Oceankaj terminal).
  19. I saw a new one yesterday. In the US - paying for transport from Heathrow to hotel using a British transport company. Price was quoted in pounds. The payment website was through PayPal and allowed either PayPal's conversion to dollars, or using pounds and having bank convert. I chose the latter, but was surprised by the choice. At least PayPal told you what rate they would use.
  20. We had T-Mobile and had no problem connecting in all of the South American ports. Had unlimited data and texts included in our normal US Plan. Like @DCThunder said, just turned off Airplane mode and got "Welcome to Ecuador" etc. No issues at all.
  21. We were also on this cruise and did strictly private tours shared with others in the CC roll call. Worked out very well. Patrick Watts to Volunteer Point in the Falklands - yes, it's bumpy and long, but totally worth it! We had very good weather, which helped a lot. Puerto Montt - Volcano and Falls tour - really nice day with a local guide. San Antonio - Valparaiso with puerto san antonio tours. Interesting German guide and well done tour. Callao - 2 days of Lima tours. We saw a lot, but with the traffic, felt like we were on the bus a lot. If I had this one to do over, would probably try to do less. Larco Museum and Pachacamac were the highlights for me. HAL ran a free shuttle to Miraflores shopping area (which took an hour to get to). Other ports, we did DIY successfully. Panama Canal transit was so cool (I'd never done it before). Only disappointing port was Aruba - because everything was closed for Good Friday. This truly was a wonderful trip (even if my husband was sick the last week). Having good weather so we got to every port, a nice set of fellow CCers, a really good Captain and Cruise Director added to the enjoyment. This was our first HAL trip and we really liked the Oosterdam. She's a classy lady.
  22. Yep - that's the part I was questioning. It's that "departure from EU" that is a bit tricky because of the fact we're on a cruise in and out of the UK. I'll just tell my crew not to buy anything expensive!
  23. Hmm. Sort of what I figured. Copenhagen is our last port of call before returning to Dover. Probably more trouble than it's worth to try to claim VAT.
  24. We are doing the Baltic Carnival Pride cruise in June from/to Dover. It's been quite a while since I've been to Europe (pre-EU), and the VAT situation has changed. Anyone know how we will get VAT forms stamped for any EU purchases when we are sailing in and out of the UK and flying in and out of LHR? I don't plan to purchase anything expensive, but one of my kids mentioned that he might.
  25. Hmm. We’re a family of 6 - 4 iPhones and 2 Android. I guess iMessage and Google message will not talk to each other. May have to go old school and use PostIt notes to coordinate dinners etc. 😋
