  1. It sounds like overall you’ve had a good experience on Symphony. We’ve been on it twice…first time on its first trip to Florida from the Mediterranean and then this past summer in the Caribbean. We really liked the ship but we tend to hang out in the Solarium on cruise ships and for us this is where the Symphony doesn’t do well. The solarium is a sweat box it is wall to wall glass. On our TA nobody hung out there once we hit the Atlantic and it wasn’t any better this summer in the Caribbean. We prefer the Oasis and the Allure…having said that how did you find the Solarium?
  2. You write extremely well…I’ve been on the Oasis several times before but you make it seem more interesting. I literally laughed out loud several times 😎
  3. Sid…ask him if he knows how to make a zombie 😳 then if he does, proceed with caution 😵‍💫
  4. Thanks for letting me know…I’m like you it doesn’t sound like something I’d finish but I’d certainly try it 😎
  5. So…as a Canadian I feel I should point out we seem to say eh, not ahhhhh and if you were to travel throughout the Maritime provinces in particular you would clearly hear different accents in the 4 provinces. I’m sure people from those provinces would also say the other provinces and regions have distinctively different accents from them, just like across the US. I’m from southern Ontario and I say about…not aboot but I’ve heard some other provinces do pronounce it like that eh.
  6. Isn’t it great getting older…glad it went well now focus on your cruise🧐
  7. We’re on the Odyssey September 15-24 for a Mediterranean cruise…really interested in your thoughts about the ship. I’ll be following along enjoy😎
  8. Hi Jim… You mentioned in your last cruise about upcoming eye surgery. Has that happened and I hope it went well.
  9. I have a question for people following this blog…we are currently on the Allure for a B2B and the chair hogs are in full force in the upper part of the Solarium. For the past 2 days all 40+ loungers have been saved with many of lounges empty of a body. So this morning I got up earlier (it’s a sea day)to commit the mortal sin and grab 2 lounges while we went to breakfast. Surprise at 7:45am there wasn’t one seat available and only 7 or 8 people occupying a spot. I wasn’t shocked but really not amused. Three hours later some of these lounges still aren’t occupied by a human although laptops, iPads and other items are holding their precious spot. I took multiple photos at 7:45 and I suspect I may share them with somebody who claims RC actually monitors this type of situation. Any suggestions? Certainly not ruining our cruise we do have the deluxe drink package 😎 but somewhat aggravating.
  10. No problem we’re on the Allure October 15-29 and your review just let’s us feel like we’re there now 😎
  11. Agreed…Benny’s reviews are second to none…Mat whatever your name is you need to go troll somewhere else🧐
  12. The reason I asked is our experience in the Solarium hasn’t been great on the Symphony…we were on the ship the first year it sailed on a TA from Barcelona to Florida. Once we hit the Atlantic we fried…the Solarium is primarily glass and very little shade so we found shade elsewhere…fast forward to this past July we tried the Symphony again and don’t get me wrong it’s a beautiful ship but same result it was an oven. Very few people from both cruises hung out in the Solarium for very long, there were never any towel hogs😎 Our favourite ships are the Allure and the Oasis where there is ample shade up by the Solarium bar. Enjoy this cruise I’ll be following along🥂
  13. Just curious Benny when you’re on the Symphony do you ever spend time in the Solarium?
  14. Hey…I’ve been gunning for Diamond status since 2013 and the B2B October 15/23 I am😎 Dont burst my bubble 😂
  15. This has been very informative…even though we’ve been on the Allure 3 times previously I have some new insights. I was very interested to see how switching from the 8 night to the second half would work and now I know 😎 Like many other people following your blog we are on the October 15&23 sailings so naturally it makes us anxious to get started. Enjoy your last night!
  16. I counted at least 40…my brother and I were on the Symphony of the Seas in early July and it wasn’t any different…we waited until 5 pm to enter when people were getting ready for dinner.
  17. I don’t know if this helps but…when we returned from our cruise in July we had to identify from a drop down menu all the island/countries we had visited on our trip prior to returning home. Very simple process, but annoying.
  18. Hi Jim… My brother and I just finished a 7 night cruise on the Symphony. There were 6600 passengers and we felt a little crowded in places but other than the elevators we found the crowds manageable. Have a great cruise u2🛳
