  1. Likely have to join the line. However, it shouldn’t matter as most ships don’t start boarding until around 11:00.
  2. Thank you for the update. I’m going to book a Cabana on Celebration, 12/19 8 day, if any are available after suites booking. A Christmas splurge and a free casino cabin, the exclusive use will be awesome.
  3. Carnival will weather the storm. They have managed to navigate through the Covid-19 pandemic and millions of cruise addicts need their fix.
  4. Yeah, I broke my 3 cruise winning streak on our B2B this summer and they gave me a free cabin : Celebration 8 day 12/19. They even comped us Steakhouse selections and drinks at dinner. Guess I rated a little higher than normal on Valor.
  5. @mygollie They put out the luggage tags for guests to pickup 12:00-6:00 the last full day of your cruise. Nobody checks your group number for those leaving last. The main function of the numbers is where your bags will be found in the terminal. Each number represents the row your bags are lined up in.
  6. Don’t forget to cash out your casino account if you jump ship.
  7. Yeah, there is always inherent risk in investing but, I couldn’t resist taking the plunge as long as Carnival doesn’t do a belly flop. Lot of upside long term.
  8. Newly minted CCL stockholder here. I took the plunge at $7.56 for 100 shares. Missed the dip early on in Covid when it last bottomed out. Shares may pay for themselves if I can get the $100 OBC more than half a dozen times.
  9. I’m definitely leaning towards booking one, if available as we do have to wait for suites and it is Christmas. $2000 is bad enough but, the $360/gratuity is steep, too. I looked online for pictures and video. Looks like 2 padded loungers per cabana with comfy daybed/couch area inside shady part. I think this would work if I book it and get the maximum of five (5) wristbands. There are 3 of us w/son, age 14. 2 extra for you if your booking is 2 guests? Would be great if carnival had a method for us to book and pay online. However, I’d expect they don’t. I don’t have a problem booking and paying upfront but, I would need cash payment when we board and exchange wristbands. Sorry but, I couldn’t take a chance with a potentially bad check. Like I said, great if Carnival has a method to handle this. Just off the top of my head, maybe I could book and pay in full and they can accept your half to credit my account online and both bookings would show use of five (5) wristbands? Another thing I thought of is, we can both access the Loft 19 area with our wristbands. We can alternate use of the Cabana every other day but still have daily access to the Loft 19 area. Who knows, we may become fast friends?
  10. Yeah, I believe you are correct. Carnival doesn’t list it on their site.
  11. Suites are first to board so, should be able to beat the rush to Guest Services.
  12. Priority line is for Platinum and Diamond. Suites get priority embarkation and disembarkation; however, Carnival site does not list Priority Line at Guest Services as a suites perk.
  13. One bottle, up to 750ml, per adult. Up to 12 cans/cartons of soda/mixer. Been posted policy for years.
  14. Another dreaded Carnival cutback? Can you hang the medallion on a lanyard?
  15. @nycny We’ve already spent several Christmas seasons together. We made an annual Christmas trip to NYC and Boston 3 Christmas in a row. We were in NYC when it was 65 degrees on Christmas Eve. We booked Horizon last Christmas and got bumped to Sunshine.
  16. Sorry, I’m old school, rooted in the 20th century and don’t do fbook. Loft 19 will not open up for non-Excel Suites until the last minute since they have priority booking rights. The discounts they have been offering on Mardi Gras, $1750 and even $1500, may not be available when we desire. I’m not sure if a shared booking would be permitted as they can limit access to only guests from whichever cabin books a Cabana. I am always interested in saving money but, the devil is in the details. Would need to know the capacity of Cabana, number of chairs and how the split would work. 8 day cruise, we could each use it every other day, 4 days each? Truthfully, I’d expect a problem with getting access beyond the velvet rope for those guests not named on the booking. The other problem is getting money from strangers as no good deed goes unpunished. Lots of stories about friends/family that don’t cough up the cash. Guess I’ll have a gander on the book site, under wife’s account to explore this further. Preferably someone could chime in here if Carnival even allows cabins to share a cabana? I’d feel a heck of a lot better if I had some confirmation from Carnival that my money is going towards a valid Loft 19 Cabana.
  17. Looks like they’re just in the process of switching some guests onto Luminosa and new bookings are on hold until the dust settles.
  18. I just googled Cruise the Vineyards and found all the details on the Carnival site. 3 for $77 or 5 for $119. Full list of offerings. Can be ordered from your MDR waiter; for consumption in MDR.
  19. The Conquest ships have a limited number of forward cabins at the front of the ship with the windows giving you the view without the balcony. Hard to come by, never seem available. Windows are slanted and some have restrictions requiring blinds drawn at night to keep light away from the Bridge.
  20. Platinum gets a 2 day headstart to online check-in, 16 days prior to cruise instead of 14, if you wish to choose an early arrival time. We were on Valor B2B 7/25-8/4. MDR food was good, especially beef, braised short ribs, brisket, and grilled sirloin. Portions are smaller and sides minuscule, feel free to order extra apps/sides or even 2 entrees. Old Fashioned BBQ is upstairs from Lido buffet, used to be free seafood, not as many guests make the trek upstairs. I didn’t feel chair hogs were a problem, but I don’t sit by pool; nice sized ship with lots of seating choices. I haven’t seen posts complaining of chair hogs since the restart, just 1 recent post.
  21. I don’t think many stewards would be outright rude when part of their income comes from tips/gratuities. add: congratulations on winning the primo champagne.
  22. Sorry I can’t help with the date but, maybe edit to change thread title?
  23. Lobster is included on first elegant night on longer cruises only; not on cruises 5 days or less.
  24. @jeffdal I personally would never book anything that early simply because of the fact cabins are usually opened at 1:30.
