  1. I remember a few years ago while watching The Walking Dead, one of the characters uttered the F-bomb. It surprised me as the show is not on a premium network like HBO or Showtime but AMC which is a basic cable network just like TBS, TNT, USA, etc. Turns out, it's now ok to utter one (1) swear word per 1 hour episode as long as it airs after 10 pm. As far as I know, that applies to any show on any network as long as its outside Family Hour (10 pm - 6(?) am). Not sure what happens if the show is repeated during the day if it gets bleeped or thay only show the repeats after 10 pm?
  2. Add rubber bands to the list. Leonard loves his rubber bands. I'm always afraid he's going to choke on them but no matter how many I take away, he keeps finding more. Either he has a secret stash in a unknown Cat Cave or he's learned how to open a desk drawer.
  3. She definitely looked nervous and tentative in the beginning but seemed to slowly relax as time went by. One thing I forgot to mention regarding the crown fitting was that when it was modified to fit her, it was too big and slipped down to cover her entire face. And when she was entering Westminster Abby, it looked like she had some trouble with her train. Little things like that you have you nervous knowing that one little slip up while being watched by billions & the press will have a field day. OTOH, King Charles was the epitome of chill and calm.
  4. There was a brief discussion about someone (Queen Camillia??) standing ram-rod straight for a long period of time. How about the Lady in Blue, standing for hours, perfectly still while holding one of the ceremonial swords (sorry, I forgot what it was called) upright the whole time. And the gentlemen standing behind her also holding various symbolic artifacts. Granted, they are younger than the new Queen but still impressive.
  5. Wait a second, your post is about things occurring in three. Yet only 2 lawns were mowed. Get back out there, you have unfinished business to attend to. 😉😁
  6. Not sure how relevant this is, but just to tack on, it was mentioned that Queen Camilla would be wearing Queen Mary's crown but it was a tight fit so it had to be enlarged. When she was crowned you could see there was a bit of fiddling to make sure it was snug. Perhaps that gave the illusion of be bigger?
  7. I've been to plenty of places where there is a full on spread of cold cuts (lunch meat) with all the fixings for breakfast. Can't remember where but I'm pretty sure most of those places where outside the USA. Then again, I love having pancakes, waffles & eggs for dinner and on occasion, cold pizza & slightly room temperature pasta for breakfast. Usually after a very long night. 😇
  8. High 70's Saturday, low 70's Sunday, although it might be a bit cooler along the LI Sound if that's where the reception is. Either way, Saturday is definitely the better day. Enjoy!
  9. I agree, all my favorite foods are on that plate. And the food is arranged perfectly and symmetrically. And is that a toast rack holder thingy in the middle of the table? How did I not know that such a thing exists? @grapau27, if I ever find myself in Merry Ole Jolly NE England, I'm dropping by for dinner...or breakfast. 😊
  10. I made it about 5 1/2 hours thru of the 11 hours recorded as I also recorded the pre- and post-coronation shows. But then nice weather has drawn me outside so I'll finish watching tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. Don't tell me how it ends. 😉😇
  11. Whenever my step daughter would be hysterical after being involved in a fender-bender, I'd always assure her that steel can be replaced, she can not.
  12. I had set my DVR as well. 11 hours of recording to watch! Started 1 am ET (6 am London time) and continues to noon today. Been watching the 'pre-show" coverage on and off this morning. After a chilly start this morning, weather is really beginning to warm up. A perfect NY spring day. Sunny, blue skies, no wind or humidity, temps hitting 70. After dreary, cool damp week, is going to be tough to stay indoors today. I'll probably watch the rest in bits and pieces over the weekend. Maybe later tonight with a Kraken
  13. Since I just started watching NetFlix "The Crown" and am only on Season 2, I have a question for anyone to answer. When Elizabeth ascended to the throne & became Queen, her husband Philip did not become King. He stayed a Duke and later became Prince. However, now that Charles is becoming King, how come Camilla will become Queen? I don't understand the difference as to why one is elevated and one is not. Is it a blood line thing?
  14. I'm the opposite. Maybe because my father was a plumber by trade, I don't mind doing plumbing work. Growing up I'd be his helper, meaning I'd hand him the tools or have to hold a pipe in place while he solder. And clean up the mess afterwards, of course. Now, I didn't say I enjoy plumbing or are good at it. I can get the job done but won't look pretty doing it. I'd say you are pretty much on track. Multiple trips to the store and 3-4 hours for a 30 minute repair job is pretty much my speed. On the other hand, electrical work scares me. Literally. If I screw up a plumbing job, I flood the floor. I screw up an electrical job, my house might burn down in the middle of the night. That's happen to me multiple times. The tiny links in the chain can sometimes get entangled just a bit, just enough to let water slowly drip out. I'm sure @bobmacliberty did all his research ahead of time but sometimes a leaky toilet just needs the tank to have a good scrubbing. Lime, mineral deposits or just plain gunk can stop a flapper from sealing correctly.
  15. With the Large Balcony Room, is it the balcony or the room that's larger? Or just the price tag? 😁😉 Just kidding, the rooms are on the "bump" (at least, i think so) so you get a few extra inches of balcony to stretch your legs out. Ask the cabin attendant if they can get you a few loungers, I've asked in the past. Sometimes yes, sometime no.
  16. Good day for the home team, bad day for the Yankees. Lot of players, including Judge, on the injured list. The pitcher, Nestor Cortes, was a pleasant surprise last year. Came out of nowhere & baffled a lot of the opposing hitters. I guess they finally figured out his secret
  17. It was a great game. Any time the Rangers win is a good game. However, the Rangers are going to have to find another good luck charm. The cost of playoff tickets is high enough but add in the train tickets, parking at the train station, dinner, pre-game drinks, in-game drinks, post-game drinks, snacks, it adds up quickly. Despite the cold rain, we made an entire city day of it Today is TV watching day. Bouncing back and forth between Babylon Berlin & The Crown, both on Netflix. I guess I'm in the mood for period pieces.
  18. Heading to the Ranger-Devils game. Bringing Little Miss HBE4 with me. Let's see if she's a good luck charm.
