  1. Bathing Suits recommended during the Waterfall show.
  2. In the usual "Carnival vs Royal - who does it better?" threads, Royal wins hands down with the "Immersive, Interactive Waterfall feature". I love the surprise, pop-up random timing of it to keep guest from over crowding Central Park. I think it would be a hoot to do it on Try-to-Dress-Your-Best-Night, formerly known as Formal night. Hopefully they will roll it out to the rest of the Oasis-class ships and keep it complimentary and not as an up-sell charge or part of The Key package.
  3. Look at it this way, you can start the pirate heritage to pass down to later generations. First Generation Pirate. The OG Sea Dog.😉
  4. So of course, I had to look this up. The Buc-ee's being built in Tennessee will be the biggest @ 74,000 sq ft when completed. That is, until the one in Luling in Texas is completed @ 75,000 sq feet. https://cbsaustin.com/newsletter-daily/texas-to-regain-home-of-largest-buc-ees-in-the-united-states-store-food-gas-pumps-bathrooms-clean And yes, they are expanding, going West. Colorado and Missouri are next. *sigh* I guess I need to take more long road trips.
  5. I've never seen it nor tried it and was going to say it looks like something that an alien would eat. But apparently it's only alien to me. 😃
  6. Why would anyone want one that is smaller than XXL? 😉😁 I've just assumed the Buc-ee's was mostly Texas & Gulf Coast chain so it's nice to see them expand North, relatively speaking. Maybe in a decade or so, they'll reach my neck of the roads.
  7. No drive thru that I know of but they do have a pretty substantial grab-and-go section as well. Unlike truck stops or other gas station convenience stores where the food might be sitting under heat lamp or spinning rollers for a few hours or all day, it seems like as soon as an Buc-ee's employee places a BBQ or some other hot sandwich out, someone grabs it right away. So you can rest assured that whatever you grab is hot and fresh. Bonus: you can see them preparing the food right behind the counter as well. And as @Keksie mentioned, plenty of counters and checkout lanes so you can be in and out very quickly although I tend to linger to stretch the legs after a long drive. Oh, and never any Gastrointestinal issues like those other places. The world needs more Buc-ee's.
  8. I'm familiar with Bomb Cyclone & Polar Vortex but Atmospheric River is new weather term to me. Any chance this will end the never-ending California drought? Or is the rain falling on the wrong side of the state?
  9. Hmmm, if you are suggesting that Mr. Mayor was part of a side business that involved getting the Ladies of the Evening off the streets and behind closed doors, well that sounds like a win-win for everyone. I had a friend, well a friend of my parents, actually maybe a neighbor they tolerated, anyways he was not happy that the peep-show capital of the world, aka Times Square, was Disneyified. His words, not mine. My reply was that Times Square is still separating people from their money for cheap thrills. Lol.
  10. I'll add SantaCon to the list as well. Don't let the charitable cause spin fool you, it's a frat party, pub crawl, booze-fest. There is a reason they now have to publish a "Santa Code of Conduct". https://santacon.nyc/about/
  11. I first heard about the Mummers Parade a few years ago - and by a few years ago, I mean 15 or 20 years ago - and first thought "They spelled Mummy wrong" and second thought was "What does Egyptian Mummy's have to do with New Years"? lol As to why it's not televised outside the Philly region (Until MeTV picked it up this year) I of course had to look it up. https://www.phillyvoice.com/mummers-parade-tv-broadcast-history-travel-channel/
  12. Another vote for the bottom mirror, for all the reasons stated above. The top mirror seems lost or misplaced. Like someone put it down for a minute and forgot to pick it back up.
  13. The only down side to the spring-like weather is people are taking the opportunity to take down the outdoor Christmas lights. And it's not even New Years Eve yet. Not this fella. My outdoor lights will be a blazing right up to the Epiphany, Jan 7th. Indoor lights & tree might stay up a week or three longer. 🙂
  14. It's sunny, 57 degrees, no wind, low humidity. People everywhere are walking around with shorts and t-shirts on. Kids playing ball in the front yards. I love New York in May. 😁
  15. Same with me. And especially around the holidays when DW & I would be shopping at different malls at the same time. Finally decided to each have our own cards. Made it easier to hide surprises as well just in case the credit card bill came before Christmas.
  16. I think in the good old days when smart phones first came out, Bluetooth & WiFi were considered energy hogs. I don't know if that was true and technology has evolved or it if was an old wives tale but I've read recently what just having Bluetooth turned on will only use 2% of the battery life day. The big energy hog these days is having screen brightness turned up and location-based apps running in the background. My phone will suggest removing location permissions from an app if I haven't used in 60 days, in order to improve battery life.
  17. Leonard had some catnip earlier today. I didn't film it but he acted much like @helen haywood girls. Until he got a bit boisterous and decided my hand was a play toy. Its all fun and games until someone starts bleeding from a cat scratch.
  18. As someone who it perpetually late to everything in life, I appreciate you stopping by, Haven't played "Closing Time" yet so it never to late to join. ** sung to the tune of deck the halls ** Tis the season to be stressed out, Fa-a-la-a-la-la-la-la I'm exhausted, there is no doubt Fa-a-la-a-la-la-la-la No relaxing, gonna scream and shout Fa-a-la-a-la-la-la-la Full disclosure: I may be on my third Egg Nog & Kraken and "accidentally" reversed the portions on the last one. And it's only 8:00 pm NY time. Don't judge me. 😉😇🥃
  19. And remember the cat tower I bought him a few weeks ago? Neither does he. This has been his spot since the tree went up.
  20. Funny thing is, it doesn't even look like him in the picture. If it wasn't for him moving, I never would have noticed him.
