  1. And I would imagine that there are not enough cars there to rent when a ship carrying over 3000 passengers all of a sudden has an extra day there and no one has anything booked for that day.
  2. They changed to the e-muster because of Covid. Everyone is so glad to be rid of all the other covid related changes like testing and masking.
  3. Please do post those details (if they actually let you know). I am sure I am not the only one curious about this.
  4. I don't think knew has anything to do with it. We are sailing on the Prima later this summer, and booked it in 2001 when it was not even built yet. And the "free" airfare was there along with the other "free" offers.
  5. Yes, I experienced that on the very small former Princess ship, the Ocean Princess. IIRC, it was at an ice carving demonstration. I saw an entertainer who was part of a duo sitting at a table. I went up to him and told him how much I enjoyed their act. He immediately waved me to sit down with him, and we had a nice conversation. It is definitely part of the beauty of the small ship experience.
  6. There was a lot of refunding going on due to the pandemic, and it was slow due to the volume. Many of us waited; we got out Princess refund right about the 90 day mark. Some got impatient, and there were suggestions in the various cruise line forums to get the refund quicker by using the method of a credit card dispute. Some warned that this might very well work quicker to get your money back, but there would be consequences. And now we can see one person, the OP, who suffered the consequences.
  7. But in this case, the OP never got as far as seeing the check in people. He was informed that he was banned!
  8. And that would obviously lead to there being more passengers without a commensurate addition to tables available in the buffet,
  9. Thanks, for the Prima all ports are listed as dock, except for Geiranger which is listed as tender.
  10. I was also going to post that question as to what the door prize was. I've never won one, but IIRC, DW once won an NCL sweatshirt at a cruise expo run by a brick and mortar travel agency.
  11. It would still be a long plane flight if you were to take a cruise in Europe, or in the other direction, Asia.
  12. I take it you either do not check people in for Carnival, or you do and they treat you worse than any other cruise line. Princess is owned by Carnival Corporation. Do we know if the ban is just for Carnival cruise line, or could it be for all cruise lines owned by Carnival?
  13. And let's not forget the ships that when refurbished had cabins added, but there was no extra passenger space.
  14. Overnights can be fine. Depending on what direction you do the Prima cruise, Reykjavik is an overnight when sailing from London (Southampton). We have had an overnight in St. Petersburg. That was fine. We have had an overnight for Edinburg (the port was actually Rosyth) and did not have to worry about getting back in time after the Scottish Military Tattoo. But really, has anyone ever wished for an overnight in Akureyri? 😒
  15. So there is something positive about the design of the Prima. 🤣
  16. That has been happening, but the same has not been true for the Prima. Question---the Prima lists Isafjordur as dock, does the Star do the same, or is it listed as a tender port?
  17. I truly hope this is true. We will find out soon. ✌ As I wrote in a previous post, they are selling excursions for there as of the July 4th port call.
  18. The cruise line excursions are way, way overpriced compared to what you can find in private excursions.
  19. You can sell an excursion for Isafjordur, but you cannot let the passenger use it. 🤦‍♂️
  20. Yes, we will know soon enough. And even though you can still buy an excursion for there, I think the odds are very high against you actually being able to use it.😒
  21. Let me note, I am not blaming the shorex people in the call center as I really doubt that they have been informed that NCL has skipped this port every cruise. I do blame upper management for letting them be ignorant of this and continuing to sell excursions there. And I wonder if they are still selling them on the ship. The people at the excursion desk there have to be aware of the situation. They have to have been giving refunds or credits now for almost 2 months for excursions to that missed port. And I would also like to note that the original representative I talked to did the right thing. She said she did not know as that was outside of the information she had, but she would see if she could get me to someone who did know. It was not her fault that the excursion representative were just as much in the dark as to what was happening. And as to your point that maybe they will go there someday, I would say not this cruise season unless they have some information that the dock work is about to be completed.
  22. If the charge to AMEX shows NCL as it should, not the travel agency, there should be no problem getting it approved. We have used these offers on several cruise lines including NCL for our upcoming cruise while booking with a TA. They have always been approved.
