  1. Maybe they have to decide on the charge. A theft of $13,000 would be grand theft, but what jury would believe in that valuation?
  2. There was one back in the day that they still existed that we almost, or at least thought about,. It wasn't going to be a party or drinking cruise for us, but to listen to John Legend.
  3. It seems some people cherry pick what they read in a thread, and totally ignore the people who have posted that they did get the shareholder's OBC when using a TA.
  4. 🤦‍♂️ WOW! They cancelled. but you can still book them. I wonder how long they will remain on the website with the Israeli ports. And I wonder if you call to book one of those cruises whether you will be told that they are not going to Israel.
  5. Would this be one of the joys of traveling? We once got lost in Santorini. We stumbled upon a musuem in a cave. We went in, and the guide did a tour in both English for us and Greek for another couple. At the end we showed him our HAL map and asked where we were on the map. He laughed and said we were off the map. After asking if we had rented a car, he tried to hail a cab, but could not get one. He then showed us a shortcut back to the area in the map.
  6. I read over at the Holland America boards that NCL has already cancelled Israel for 2024 sailings. The consensus was that this is smart as it will give them more time to find alternative ports on the sailings and let people know in advance what they are doing. I expected to see something on these boards, but do not. Can anyone confirm whether that is true or just a rumor?
  7. Yes, and even when there are no immediate problems, there is always the threat of a situation arising. It's been that way there for a long time.
  8. There really are a lot of us who do not fit that description. I hope you do not fit that description and I am sure you do not.
  9. A regular airport transfer is not the same as an excursion transfer that takes you some other place before the airport.
  10. My DW was actually looking forward more to the excursion including Stonehenge then to the actual cruise to the Norwegian fjords. We did get to see some fjord ports such as Geiranger on our cruise this past summer.
  11. I hope these defacements are not being done by cruise passengers. Rome has a lot of tourists who do not come in via cruise ships.
  12. Good luck finding something to occupy your time before such a late flight. Our best to the airport excursion was on Princess from Dover to Heathrow. It included a walking tour of Dover and a visit to Canterbury. We also knew a few people on the tour, and it made it feel like we were still on our vacation, not just leaving the cruise for the airport. We also once had a to the airport excursion booked from Southampton to Heathrow with a visit to Stonehenge. Unfortunately, that was in the summer of 2020, and never happened because of Covid. That was also through Princess, and they do not wait for 50 days to make them available. We had booked that tour with Stonehenge well before final payment was due. (We actually with a refundable deposit canceled before final payment as we saw the cruise would never sail. Princess waited until after final payment was due to cancel the cruise.)
  13. On our cruise this summer on the Prima, DW said we are not spending hours and hours at the airport, therefore I am booking an excursion to the airport. There were supposed to be two available, but one disappeared. And that one was her first choice of course. But it really did work out as that one was a hike and it poured all day. And the one that we did take, the Perclan Musuem, a museum about the geology of Iceland turned out to be fascinating. 😊 But unfortunately, we did spend a lot of time at the airport as our plane was delayed. 😢 BTW, this was in Reykjavik.
  14. I even asked if I should take my glasses off, and was told no.
  15. I had my photo retaken in Southampton. And even though the online photo says taking your glasses off is required, he had me leave them on, though he did have me take my sunglasses which were on the top of my head off.
  16. On our Princess British Isles cruise, our port for Edinburgh was Rosyth. We had an overnight which really worked out great since we missed our train back and had to take a taxi.
  17. In the words of the great philosopher Dr. Seuss, " a person's a person no matter how small.".
  18. I think @RocketMan275 said SOME TAs offer up to a 10% discount, not all TAs which seems to be your argument in your first sentence. And if some TAs offer an even greater discount, that does not make what he wrote wrong, and actually strengthens his argument for using a TA.
  19. Yes, if you did name the TA, the post would be taken down as soon as someone informed me mods of a TA being mentioned. And instead of this being brought to the attention of the police, maybe the Better Business Bureau or isn't there some TA organization that would be better tp bring this to their attention.
  20. I am glad we have a TA we have worked with over the years and have found we can fully trust.
  21. If you have to fly to get to your embarkation port, you might want to consider the availability and possibility of higher prices for your airfare.
  22. I usually have at least one cruise line offer on my AMEX, but at the moment have none.
  23. Nothing booked by a TA should ever be charged to the TA. The charge should always show up as by the cruise line. A TA is only a conduit who takes the charge and has the cruise line as the one being paid.
