Oh dear, no mention of the Kiwis. We're often left off world maps, maybe they just forgot about us 🤣
Arn't you part of Straya ? 😁 You are friendly then.

Lyle has started a new trend in meat pie dishes, poached or fried egg. Some bakeries here sell a brekkie pie, minced beef, egg, bacon and cheese within. Dead horse is OK. Lubbly Jubbly.

Has anyone cruised on Virgin's Resilient Lady?
I reported a couple of weeks ago, an old workmate and his wife are on the ship, repo, Athens to Sydney. I have been getting some reports…
1. Great and comfortable ship, great cabins and public areas.
2. Entertainment and food very good. Staff very good.
3. Drinks very expensive, all in USD and even the Americans on board think they are expensive.

Unless you want to give Les a Go.

Bought some Voltaren today. I am a very reluctant pill popper.
I may settle for some Sangria that I have in the fridge.
Voltare tabs are good as is the gel, complemented with a big glass of sem chard.

When I went to the chemist this morning I stopped at The Bakery and bought a "works" pie. Steak, onion, tomato and topped with mashed potato. I may have it for dinner tonight. If I remember I'll take a photo.
Meal of champions, enjoy.

There are a few Cunard fans who drop by from time to time. I think they take a few moments to read the tone of the "different" thread and quickly move on. 🤔
Those Cunarders who drop into this forum, think we are all mad. Lol.

They had the red frogs on TV. They do a great job keeping an eye out for those who aren't schoolies

As an aside the new Argentine President wants to adopt the US$ instead of the peso. My son is in Argentina at the moment on business, he says the Argies seem happy for once, well this week anyway. I was in Argentina in 2007, the currency was stuffed then.
Argie Peso is at rock bottom, 202 Peso for 1 AUD.
355 peso for 1 USD. -

How many pies do you reckon have been consumed in that time mate ? - I reckon we have all had our fair share 😁 🥧
A few thousand young Neil and several hundred sausage rolls.

The wet weather will not dampen the Schoolies fun, they will imbibe, rain, hail or shine. My brother in law is one of the Red Frogs up there, looking after the schoolies, sort off. Allens Red Frogs are handed out by the vollies.

Funny you should mention that Uncle Les. There was a wee dram of port in the mix and a bit of smoked paprika. This mixture is not gluten free but if you were here it would be.
Hi Lyle, where is the gluten? Did you use wheat flour to thicken up the mixture?
I use rice flour at home. Bit of Worcestershire sauce in the mix gives a liittle spice as well.

Just a tad late to the party but while I have no input in terms of meat pies, being a vego, I can vouch for the great lentil or cauliflower pie from the frozen section of Coles. Not the least bit helpful but worth mentioning.
Real reason for responding is first to say that I can't believe how long this thread has been active but also to say that I just love the Amora on Jamison. This is our go to when in Sydney for a few days prior to a cruise. Usually, if staying a for a while after a cruise, I tend to book somewhere cheaper with a kitchenette so I can do a bit of self catering - gotta start shedding that cruise ship weight at some point.
Welcome to the party, which has been going since 2017 !
Quite a few bakeries have veggie pies these days.

Ground beef, onion, mixed frozen vegetables. Mashed potatoes on top. It is so simple and quick.
Put a bit of red wine and paprika in the beef mix, makes it tastier. Being a cheese freak I have to sprinkle some grated cheese on top a couple of minutes before serving. Do mine in ye olde airfryer.
Might knock one up for dinner this evening. Glass of cab merlot to wash it down of course.
