Bummer,
Celebrity Edge is in on Saturday and I could have taken you to the Cross on Friday night.
KX is quieter these days, but still some excitement prevails.

Covid isn’t much different now than other viruses you would pick up. Are you saying that if you felt ill and tested negative for Covid you would venture about? I wouldn’t want you sharing those other viruses with me either. That is my point.
Older people are still dying from covid. Many contract it on the ships, gets many mentions on here.

I'm a bloody worry wart not to mention a very nervous flyer. With this in mind I never book connections but rather arrive at least 24 hours before the next leg. This might cost me a night's accommodation but, that's a price I'm more than willing to pay for peace of mind.

Totally agree Bubbeh, no tight flights for me, have a relaxing night in a motel or hotel or precruise, nice meal and some vino. Way to go.

Great photo Les. You’re ageless, like those Cunard tipplers. Benjamin Button has nothing on you.
Thanks Linda, Benjamin Button is?

I sometimes don't even bother with the oven/airfryer and microwave only. Pastry can be a bit soft but that's fine, my teeth are old!
A soft pie is fine, no teeth required.

Hahaha 🤣, we call them Samoan safety boots, LOL. Still occasionally see motor bike/scooter riders wearing them 😪
In my working days👮♂️ I went to a few crashes with thong wearing motorcyclists and bike riders, some lost a toe or two and some lost bark off their feet. I called them temporary Australians, 😆

That has largely been my experience. The best one being -We once booked a "kind of" World Cruise with P&O UK (at least that was how it was "sold") - guarantee inside, 42 days Brisbane to Southampton on Oriana, 19 days in London with my son in London over Christmas, and another 42 days on Arcadia back to Brisbane. $12K per person. We didn't have a cabin allocation for the voyage to UK until only 3 days before departure - a "superior" outside dropped for us - the "superior" being that it was an outside cabin the same size as a normal balcony cabin , including the balcony area. It was VERY comfortable. Much the same thing happened for our return - got a huge disabled interior cabin about a 50 meter walk to the Theatre entrance ( made going home after the evening shows very convenient ) 🙂
Similar here Barry, in March 2012, booked gtee obstructed view on Arcadia, Sydney to Southampton. Around 6k each for the half worldie, via Africa. Got cabin allocation 3 days before sailing.. a clear oceanview. Great trip, had 6 weeks in UK
with car and flew back.

I like Herbert Adams too, and known to be a target when they are on special. A bit dearer, but you get what you pay for. I used to hate Mrs Mac's, probably from having one too many servo pies that had been in a warmer for a few hours too long. I quite enjoy their potato top pies, but the pastry can be horrible and rock hard if over baked. I do know, as Barb has torched plenty of pies of various brands over the years via oven, nuker or air fryer.
Defrost the frozen pie in microwave, then whack in airfryer or normal oven for 10 minutes to crisp up, lubbly jubbly.

Zoltina resigned from P&O over a year ago. She is now a cruise director on a much more upmarket brand, and currently on a ship bound for Australia.
Lots of "familiar" faces have resigned from P&O since the restart.
Windstar, cerainly up market from P and O.

I like Brisvegas, ok to visit but too hot and humid to live. between December and March. Anywhere south of Coffs Harbour (NSW) is ok.

Thanks Geoffrey. She certainly had a massive following by P&O cruisers. She had her own fan club I believe.

Cheap as chips, the more you buy the more you save. National Pies are alleged to be good, (Tasmanian.)

A few years ago on a Princess cruise overseas I made a guts of myself with daily double prawn cocktails and several lobster tails in the days when they were available daily. Yes the gout got me, feet swelled up real bad until the progout tabs kicked in. So it was thongs for me as I hobbled in to the dining room. No one said boo, I was clearly in great pain.
These days I take an Alluprinol tab daily re uric acid. No flare ups since but I go easy on the shell fish.

Feel sorry for the people who were unable to cruise especially if they had other expenses to get to/from the port.
Apart from overbooking another is the quality of some of the ships in Australian waters.
Some seem old and as some have said poorly maintained/cleaned.
Lack of staff might explain the cleaning issue.
We do not seem to get the new ships here why?
The new ships generally go to the American and European market. Big customer base and the demand is for the new ships in those areas.

Yes the shorts and long socks were quite the thing in the 70s and 80s. It was more the short socks and sandals with shorts which was not a good look.
I agree. Short socks and sandals a no, no. Long socks, tailored shorts and leather shoes looked good back then.
