Not personally be me anyway. 😁
I said to a guy one morning after being regaled about their wonderous travels, then asked if it was our first cruise - your card should be clean by now, it only says 17. The medallion doesn't have that number displayed, am happy with that and aren't fussed with numbers. I don't see people polishing their medallions in public. 🤣
Elites get complimentary medallion polishing, like the shoe shine, lol.

Good for you 😊 I'd never sail with NCL again, we must have had a dishonest steward as grog was missing from the mini bar at the end of the cruise (we never touched the mini bar) - NCL did nothing and wouldn't even say exactly what was missing. We prepaid gratuities and even though we barely saw our steward, and for a few days didn't even know who the steward was, we left him a tip. Cost was deducted from our credit card after disembarking, about $25, which we never got back, so it's the principle of the matter 🙁
Why would you leave the cabin steward a tip in addition to auto gratuity, if you suspect him/her of knocking off the mini bar and not making themselves known to you for some days. On Princess your steward comes and sees you in the first few hours after boarding.

Exactly! I might not comment a lot, but I do hope your health is as well as it can be!
Thanks, a struggle, no winning this battle.

I am not too sure of that. The grey card would have been out of sight. A bit like at breakfast on Princess, and you used to spot people with black cards polishing the bottom right corner as if to draw attention to it (the bit that used to show the number of qualifying cruises).
Was I sprung, lol.

I am in shock! Any cruise line that does this deserves the result!! Common sense has gone out the window.
They don't want the numbers to get out.

If they are doing that, they should at least buy me a drink first.
And a free massage.

Thanks all, I did think so but can’t seem to find anything on their website. Not even sure how much they are.
I know on our last Cunard cruise, the line at guest services to remove the gratuities was so long they ended up with a special counter. We were lucky as there was a promotion for that particular cruise where we had ours included. This was mainly UK and of course Australians!
Aussies, Kiwis and Brits lining up no doubt. Seen it myself on Cunard and P and O UK.

Our Brilliance cruise (Cruisin' Country charter) 1st Dec is from CQ of course, so no opportunity for a White Bay sausage roll that day 🙂 I'll keep an eye out for you when boarding mate to say G'day. I'll be the one with a cowboy hat and Panthers shirt!!!
And carrying a Crownie in each hand, lol. Mrs Walker will be pulling the bags, lol.

Now I wonder if Princess is charging 18% gratuity on their $38 RATS?
Would us elites get the usual 10% discount on the purchase ? lol.

We love this place. Do you have a harbourview room or garden room? The Marriot has always been around 1/2 the price of a Quay Grand Harbourview room. I am not sure if anyone ever stays at the Park Hyatt - pretty much the dearest rooms in Australia.
Agree, Marriot is good, views and convenient to OPT. View from my Marriott window, pre Coral Princess, Sept 2022. Pricey, but very good.

One wonders if the noro and covid viruses on Grand Princess travelled across the Pacific from USA to OZ. What say ye?

Get well soon Julie and Rolf. How does Regent ISO cabin service, i.e. food/drinks, compare with what you experienced on Princess?

I feel the grey card is for suite pax only, priority tendering only. A poor bonus for suite pax IMO.

Yes, they’re not cheap.
One in Zetland is not too bad, but Pitt st, can be $300 a night.

I raised a glass to the fallen today, your armistice day. For us tomorrow is remembrance day (being we are behind the times)
Deepest respect to those who served and those whose loved ones didn't make it home.
While "In Flanders Fields" is known and recited throughout the Commonwealth, as Canadians we have a special pride in those poignant words as Colonel McCrae was Canadian and he didn't make it home.
Remembrance Day here Lyle. Coming from a military family and being an ex soldier myself, albeit in my youth, it means a lot to me. Lest we forget.

Rissoles has been around as slang from at least the 80s.
The late 60’ s even, mic, started going to Matravile Rissole in 1966, schooner was 20 cents. A meat pie about the same.
Yes, I had a misspent youth.🍺🍻
