  1. That is why I am not cruising Princess next time, plus they got rid of traditional dining. They can stick their !@#$%^&*( Medallion, lol.
  2. Crikey this Princess Medallion thingy is running longer than the tipping threads, formal wear threads.lol.
  3. Bit slack them running out of bottled water. Slack Qantas Trolley Dollies, they probably could not be bothered to get you some.
  4. Have you and your good lady got your good gear ready for next week Geoff? I hear formal wear is now mandatory on P&O Straya, Can you break out ye olde Safari Suit?
  5. I have travelled various airlines in business, premium economy and economy, never had a problem in requesting bottles of water inflight. No top up of bottles then. Just ask for a few bottles. Or a few G&T's to keep hydrated.
  6. And UK National Health does not cover all costs, even for Brits, let alone Aussies. Just like Medicare here, they don't pay everything.
  7. Anyone who goes on a cruise without travel insurance is a fool. I have met a few Americans on cruises from overseas who brag about not having travel insurance. Irriots.
  8. It is, done it a couple of times on Princess and once on P&O UK. On the P&O UK one, the tour finished up with champers and canapes in the Captains lounge, the drinks went for two hours, lol, the Captain of Aurora liked a drink, lol. If you can get on one, do it for the experience. As soon as you board, go to Guest Services/Pursers.
  9. Medical treatment on board, cancellation for inability to travel. You need it.
  10. Correct, get it until I go to the big cruise ship in the sky. Indexed to cpi.
  11. Yes if i did would pass on to her. Otherwise dies with me, but no complain, I have been getting it for 19 yrs, retired at 55. I had better watch out for the cruising cougars, lol.
  12. I paid into it for 36 yrs. 6% of my salary per fortnight, no more, no less and compulsory. Police 👮‍♀️ pension scheme is a bit different to other State Super schemes.
  13. To get the Commonwealth Seniors Healthcare Card a single person (no dependents) has to have an income stream of less than $56,000 pa. For a couple it is $89,000. I am on a defined benefit State Super Pension, in excess of 56K, ineligble for card, that makes me real cranky. Had the card when my wife was alive, when she passed away 2 years ago, our generous government cancelled it 3 days after she passed away. Now for me it is full freight at the chemist for my stay alive pills. Sorry, I just remembered I have told this sorry tale before, apologies folks, must be time for scotch o'clock.
  14. Ch7 news was just broadcasting from Pacific Explorer, Geoff. The P&O guru was on, said they are all ready, medical teams, iso cabins, etc, etc, going to be a big day on Tuesday, it is Brisvegas and back is it not? I shall be in Leeton next week, R&R, I will watch the big sail out etc on the motel tv, or perhaps on the big screen at the Leeton Rissole, lol. Bon Voyage Geoff and everybody else on board.
  15. Too many Elites now, thus they canned the freeby. What next ? Laundry? Mini Bar? Last Princess cruises I was on, Sapphire Prince in mid 2018, Baltic/Scandinavia, so many Elites, inc us, we had to go get tender tickets, no going down to the tender area and flashing ye olde Black card, lol. I can imagine on the worldie from Sydney, hundreds of Elites, same problem re priority tendering and laundry delays.
  16. Qantas have always been expensive, when we did our last trip to UK/Europe in mid 2018, they wanted $9000 each, yep $18,000 for two for a business class return airfare. So we got on board Cathay Pacific - business class return for $11,000 for two, spethial double family deal Sydney to London Heathrow.
  17. I am with you re dressing up. Went on QM2 in 2017, Sydney - HK. As it was on a world cruise, most pax were Brits, Tuxedo central, I took a blazer for formal night, got a few dirty looks. I liked the ship, wonderful. But some of the pax were not my style, bit stuck up and too posh for me. They love their G&T's lol. One morning in the Britannia Restaurant, we got seated at the breakfast table and some old codger sitting in there in his regimental blazer and tie, reading the Times newspaper - condensed version, comes in over the wire each morning. Dress a bit over the top. I would do Cunard again, but no formal/black tie nights for me, buffet will do. Does that make me a half bogan or half chav, lol. Thank goodness Holland America, my next cruise, has done away with 'formal nights.' They call them Gala nights now. Tuxedos, suits optional, smart casual, i.e. shirt and trousers will do. That is me, the latter, lol. This will be fine..
  18. Cheap as chips, is that twin or quad share per person?
  19. Have you done any cruises? I lived and worked in 'The Gong in the 1970's.👮‍♂️It was a dump back then. Anyway if you want to know about cruising, plenty of experts on here, just ask.
  20. Is this a Holland America or MSC Cougeress, Chilli? She looks a little young for HAL 🤣
