  1. WRONG. That is not correct. Wrong, wrong, wrong. I was on the October 26 Beyond sailing and confirmed there was nothing changed about the HVAC and the bifold doors. Those doors are cosmetic. Sure if you close them it helps slow the outdoor air from entering the cabin but the HVAC is OFF whenever the window is open. The bifold doors don't control the HVAC, the window does.
  2. Never heard of this. Anyone else know about this?
  3. It was working on the Celebration but unfortunately the points weren't always updated so it was incorrect for several days and was never correct at the end of our six day cruise. The slot machines did, as always, show the correct points which was also verified by the casino employees.
  4. Yes, IF you have priority, that is correct. But if you don't have Priority, then Express Debarkation is spaced throughout the disembarkation process. That's not how other cruiselines do it. Other cruiseines allow ALL Self Debarkation to disembark all at the same time, after priority but before checked luggage passengers. The way Carnival does it is deceiving for those without status. You're thinking I'll lug my own luggage and be off first after priority passengers but that's not the case.
  5. Well while you CAN do that, you're not SUPPOSED to do that. That's what I was referring to about how Carnival's Self Debarkation works. IF you choose this you're SUPPOSED to be waiting for your Muster Station and/or Deck to be called. You're not supposed to just go down at the start of self debarkation.
  6. I miss the OLD Spa Cafe when they made simply grilled Chicken breast or Salmon fresh to order. Later they introduced the Thai pork lettuce wraps that were yummy. All gone now.
  7. No, and no. Both Luminae and Blu don't have a reservations system.
  8. Thank you for you great write-up. Are you by chance from the UK? Rocket is a term used in the UK; Americans call it Arugula and literally no one in the US calls it Rocket. The first time I heard of it was twenty years ago in a London burger restaurant. Having no idea what it was in the burger description, We asked the server, who couldn't describe it so he actually went to the Kitchen and brought a sprig out. Everyone at our table said, oh that's Arugula, or generically called salad greens!
  9. I've seen that on other Carnival cruises and other cruiselines as well. For the life of me I don't understand why people think it's appropriate to put the feet up on furniture in public indoor venues. I actually call people out for it and shame them out loud.
  10. Same with us. We were on an Elite for the first cruise, comped but non elite for the 2nd, and Elite for the third. We made out REALLY well with the free port transfers. From info here on CC we learned that the transfers don't have to be directly connected to the cruise. You are given two transfers to use however you want. So the first two was airport to Barcelona hotel, then hotel to pier, then the second transfer pair was from Dover to Central London hotel, then three days later from London hotel to Heathrow. The Dover to London transfer alone was worth over $300!! I really disliked the ship though, and Felipe the CD was horrid.

  13. Correct. The only other way involves, as I said, a total repricing of the cabin.
  14. The toiletries in the Spa cabins are Elemis and yes, they are better than the regular stuff, but it's only body wash and a combo shampoo/conditioner. No separate hair conditioner and no body lotion. No bottled water is included with the cabin. A nicer robe and slippers are included.
  15. You need to move!,lol On another note, I see you were on the Carnival Pride in May. We boarded on May 19th for 32 days. Were we sailing together at some point?
  16. Yes, people want to make this such an issue ONLY because Celebrity tried to confuse things. It's an oceanview cabin with a window that opens. PERIOD. You are NEVER, EVER outside, you are always inside because you never leave your cabin, you're just opening a window. The bifold doors are literally window dressing - there to close off space inside your cabin to make a pretend outdoor space. It's literally no different than opening the window in your home bedroom, putting a chair in front of it, and sitting there. It's exactly the same thing.
  17. The $20 upgrades are based on what's available for BCC to offer, and has nothing to do with your BCC status. BCC are assigned cabin inventory based on internal sales metrics. Generally in order to upgrade a particular BCC comped cruise offer BCC will reprice the new cabin Category with the casino rate for that cabin and then deduct the internal value of your comped cabin offer. For example, if you were offered a comped IV cabin and you wanted to upgrade to a Sky Suite BCC will take the casino rate of the cabin, let's say $8,000,and deduct the internal value of the comped IV cabin, let's say $500. As my example shows, the value of your comped cabin isn't the retail value but an internal value that's much, much less. So if you were thinking that the upgrade should only cost $3000,for example, it could actually cost you $7500. This is why people say to upgrade a comped cabin is not necessarily a good value than paying for it directly.
  18. You will never earn the same amount of points on table games as slots. Never. EVER. And that applies to ALL casinos, ship and land based.
  19. That's the problem with the way Carnival does self walk off. TBH with the way they do it, you actually WON'T be the first to disembark and you might as well ask for zones 1 & 2. They are the only cruiseline to do it that way, and I understand WHY they do it that way but it defeats the whole purpose of self walk off.
  20. There are refrigerators in all cabins and they have room for your own stuff.
  21. yes and yes. I've slept overnight with the IV window down and it remained down when I woke up. Again the HAVAC remains OFF with the window open, but we enjoy the room on the warmer side, so it wasn't an issue.
  22. Gotcha. I can see why people can get confused.
