  1. Whenever one travels overseas you should bring a mini pharmacy sampler of OTC drugs; cold/flu tablets, antacids, antidiarrheal, Tylenol, BENADRYL!!!. European drug laws are much more strict than USA and many of our drugs that are OTC actually have to be dispensed by a pharmacist. They are extremely expensive compared to USA prices. Helpful hint: I attached a photo of an antigas/antiacid that is WORLDS better than the regular Tums. You'll thank me when you try it. They taste like Mentos candy.
  2. One of the buffet counters on the Pride is pan Asian. It's OK and sometimes not, lol.
  3. Another question, do they now serve tap water at dinner, or only bottled water? When we sailed Meraviglia in Europe several years ago tap water was not served in the MDR but American booked cruises got free bottled water in the MDR. What's the policy on the Seashore?
  4. I think what was meant is that out of the four nightly dessert options, only one is different every night. The other three are ice cream, cheese plate, Chocolate lava cake, and they stay the same every night.
  5. I think the cake issue is there isn't enough diners at the buffet for dinnertime to warrant the cake buffet, which I agree is ashame. On the Pride this summer the cake buffet was Excellent, with all the cake selections equally tasty. Actually all the desserts on the Pride were good, except as noted the issues with the Lava cake. The Tiramisu was consistently excellent and better than in many land-based restaurants!
  6. TBH you actually don't need any physical currency. Everything is done with a credit card. We had to purposely use currency to rid ours. On our last stop in Bergen we had lunch and wanted to pay in currency. The server was a bit shocked and actually was a little befuddled, lol.
  7. We're boarding the Seashore this Saturday, 9/24, and have a couple of last minute questions. I was reading a review and it mentioned the cabins don't have facial tissues, is this true? I did check a few videos and it did seem there are no tissues in the bathroom. Can you get tissues if you ask the stateroom attendant? Second, we booked an Aurea SL1 suite. Will we automatically get the RFID wrist bands for room access, or standard keycards? Thanks for any information anyone can share.
  8. Ahhh, so you would drink to while on the cruise. Gotcha! It's great Carnival allows you to bring alcohol back in Europe Port stops and you get to drink it on board.
  9. You can't take that on any plane since it's over 100ml. You would have to buy a bottle AFTER airport security.
  10. I thought Felipe was one of the most ineffective CDs I have ever encountered on Carnival. He had no idea what he was doing on the three Europe sailings I was on with him in May/June.
  11. I do love the chocolate chip cookies, they're so crunchy!
  12. I can't be 100% certain about Carnival since I'm not a stockholder but I'm a Royal stockholder and it doesn't apply for Royal or Celebrity comped cruises. So it's been about 10 years since we've been able to get shareholder OBC on Royal or Celebrity since it's been that long since we've been sailing on comped cruises.
  13. Here are current screen shots. As you can see the suite is actually available on the Celebration on one sailing but not the other. You just have to scroll and see. The prices you see are the per person price.
  14. Whatever the posted price is for the cabin category is what you will pay. Generally the suite is for shorter, older ships, or on a newer ship it will be for a slow booking cruise date.
  15. How would you get it home? You would have to pack it in your check luggage. Reminds me of a story from my family. Brother in Law and wife were flying back from a Mediterranean cruise, and bought a bottle of Limoncello. Forgot to pack it in the check luggage, and they already had their free check luggage max. Refusing to just leave it they paid the excess checked luggage fee of over $125 for that one bottle of Limoncello.
  16. All toiletries are included in all cabin types, the brands are different based on cabin type. But all include shampoo, separate hair conditioner, body wash, Body lotion, bar soap, and a small amedities box with a few q-tips, shower cap. Generally they give you one bar of soap, but you can always ask for as many as you need. They should be in big dispensers attached to the wall (Body lotion in a separate freestanding big bottle) and aren't meant to be taken home. If I remember correctly a few unrenovated ships may not have wall dispensers but individual sized bottles? Regardless all the above mentioned toiletries are included.
  17. I just noticed they also did away with the Frittata😩 At least the Banana cream pie and seven layer chocolate cake is still there. We usually share one and take one to go, put it in the refrigerator, and have it in the afternoon with a cup of coffee!
  18. Then you just don't book that particular cruise until there's a cruise date you know he can go. It's as simple as that.
  19. Lyft is usually cheaper in South Florida, but yes that's what we use all the time. For example, right now it would be $40 for a Lyft.
  20. Carnival's Casino program doesn't have a transparent tier program, meaning it's not a published tier ranking, but we most certainly do travel on Carnival comped cruises;doing 6 this year with Carnival. My husband loves Carnival's casinos the best since they always have the latest slots. One of their best casino offers is called an Elite cruise. Carnival will give slot or table credit of $500-$1000;free balcony room;free port transfers or port parking, free drink package for 2 people to be used anywhere on the ship; a free port excursion for 2 or $300 spa credit; free logo gifts, and other gifts. We used to sail on NCL comped but we hated the administration fees that amounted to over $300/cabin which isn't rebated back ( a higher tier level does get those admin fees waived). We sailed on a comped Princess cruise with a certificate from Venetian Las Vegas but we don't particularly care for Princess so not persuing them. URcomped most certainly does work with Royal, but not NCL. We're going on MSC this coming Saturday via URcomped. URcomped also works with Virgin. We did our 1st Virgin in July and although the casino was tiny he had fun in the casino and the cruise was great!
  21. All casino offers include a $100 or $200/pp non refundable charge that is rebated back on the cruise as OBC and port fees and taxes. If the person that the offer is given to cannot sail the proper thing is to cancel the cruise, which means the $200 or $400 will be forfeited but the port fees and taxes will be refunded.
  22. Of course, hence the question. She wants to go on a comped cruise and her husband doesn't.
  23. Oh no! The pancetta scramble was my favorite! ☹️
