  1. @Linda the Book Lover I ate at Le Bistro. I think that's becoming my favorite. I had the onion soup, steak tartare, sole and the chocolate dessert.
  2. The live musical entertainment on this ship is ON POINT. The group in Syd Norman's Pour House was excellent. I went to 3 of their shows (Rock the Pour House, Rumours [covering the Fleetwood Mac Rumours album] and Rock the Prom) and all were ROCKIN'! Those musicians and singers are worth what they make, or more. The four that did Howl At The Moon were also EXCELLENT. Their interaction between each other and with the crowd was great, and they all seem very talented. This was apparently the first week on board for at least one of the performers. Choir of Man is a must see! Fantastic show! Port fees refund! Yes, you read that right. We did not skip a port, but it seems NCL underestimated passenger count resulting in an over-charge of port fees and taxes, we all got a little less than $13 of refundable OBC, the only reason anyone can figure is over-charge of those fees. Yes, we ported at both Taino Bay AND GSC NCL is THE cruise line for the solo traveler! The solo cabins and group are awesome, and even when I wasn't with the solo group at an activity someone was still conversational with me. We had over 30 in the lounge for the meet one night, over 3x as many as the solo host had previously had. This was not my first solo NCL cruise, the first one was great, this one may have been even better. Sadly, one of the comedians (the better of the 2 from what I hear) was the same one I saw on the Joy last year and his show was almost the same. I felt like the activity schedule was a little lighter than on previous cruises, I guess I can compare the dailies. Internet worked well for me, I bought the unlimited plan and page loads seemed quick. Others had issues with the app, which worked flawlessly for me. All of the crew were friendly and engaging. During the 70's party one sound/light person (I was standing on the sun deck under the ropes course overlooking Spice, on the port side) actually stood for a second and waited for me to acknowledge that he was saying hi to me... I'm happy to try to answer questions if anyone has any, except any about the drink package as I don't drink.
  3. Not the same reputation that Carnival has.
  4. I'm currently on the Norwegian Escape and can say that my experience is the polar opposite. Fellow passengers have been so engaging right from the time I boarded and this group of solo cruisers has been amazing! NCL just does it right for solos, but the fellow passengers that aren't solo have played a small part as well.
  5. I'm on the Escape right now and as far as I can tell it's not installed. The internet is working quite well though...
  6. And no matter what picture you use or how good it is, it seems they're still going to take a new one when you arrive to the port, so be sure to do your hair and makeup before heading to the ship...
  7. It's a room intended for 1, the double-occupancy cabins allow the beds to separate in case two people that are not interested in sharing a bed have booked the cabin together.
  8. That's most likely a door (multiple egress routes are needed and the only other access point[s] for that hall are at the other end), but I can find out this weekend as I board the ship on Saturday and I happen to be staying in a Studio!
  9. That's at double occupancy (except for the Studio cabins), there are a lot of rooms that will hold 3 or 4...
  10. There's one other option - just rent a car. The rental agencies are well aware of the one-way desire to rent a car for this and have even set their hours for the drop-off location near the port accordingly. It's a tiny car (not quite a Smart car, but a small Mitsubishi) but I did a one-way rental for a day as I'm flying in the evening before the cruise and it was under $100. The drop-off location has a free shuttle to the cruise port. It kind of works out for them - people getting off the ship will often want a one-way TO the airport, and spend time at one of the parks before their flight, so the one-ways FROM the airport facilitate stocking the port side with cars for that.
  11. Correct. I've even had an airline re-book my second flight because something at the airport changed after I booked the flights and the original connection time no longer met the minimum.
  12. No, @NW Pacific mentioned asking to have the reservations linked, which means they are in different rooms with different reservation numbers.
  13. The T&C's - https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions - say 150 per person for two logins per stateroom.
  14. Per the T&C's, 75 days before the cruise is the deadline for booking the cruise to include the air and any date deviations must be made prior to that same deadline so I assume you can add the flights up to that point as well. Reservation must be made more than 75 days prior to sailing to qualify. Date deviations can be added up to 75 days prior to embarkation.
  15. Making it even MORE confusing is that NCL actually offers a 'standard' flight booking service where you pay full airfare for both passengers and you get choice as far as what flights, when, etc, similar to what the other lines offer with the cruise line just acting as a TA for the flight booking. The BOGO is a promotional perk. The terms of that one actually DO spell out NCL's responsibility (or lack of) when it comes to delayed flights - https://www.ncl.com/freestyle-cruise/premium-air
  16. Yes, but @DCGuy64 was saying that they didn't believe even people in the same cabin were assured the same flight and that NCL had never had it in writing. Re-read what I quoted.
  17. and yet it's right in the T&C's for the promo - https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions All guests booked within a singular reservation will be booked on the same flight.
  18. I believe the thread linked by @kitkat343 actually had some discussion of that.
  19. If you self-book flights to arrive 2 days in advance do you feel comfortable that you'll enough of a buffer to get there? With a couple days of padding, either self-booked or cruise line-booked, your limitation still comes back to airline schedules.
  20. I think I know the spot, the other BA+ ships have the same spot, forward on the port side...
  21. The current trip (3/10 sailing) isn't scheduled to be in Bermuda until Thursday...
  22. Yup. When I was on the Bliss in 2019 we were in Puerto Vallarta at the same time as a Princess ship. The Princess ship had the "inner" berth while the Bliss was berthed at the harbor entrance. If we had any delayed excursions (or pier runners, which we DID have and they were too late) they weren't going to be able to wait long as that would have not only impacted the 4,000 on the Bliss but the 3,000 on the Princess ship as well since the Bliss blocked enough of the harbor entrance that the Princess ship couldn't get out. Oh, I just thoroughly read the terms for the airfare promo - nothing in there indicates NCL is providing a guarantee of getting you to the ship or that the ship will wait if you booked airfare through the cruise line.
  23. All of the Breakaway and Breakaway+ ships have both, except the Encore which dropped Spice. I loved the Bliss and Joy and I embark on the Escape (which gets tons of praise on this board as a favorite) on Saturday!
  24. It's almost as if there have been other threads about this recently...
  25. Actually, that's probably referring to special rates that TA's get for their own travel.
