  1. Thank you. I would think that the transport to Valparaiso was worth quite a bit. Also the Marriott looks pretty nice. Was it walkable from there to good restaurants, a few sites?
  2. @OneSixtyToOne How would you rate the pre-extension in Santiago? It seems like you were on your own for the duration and the only benefits were airport transfer, 2 hotel nights and the transfer to Valparaiso. Did you think it was good value, especially with the transfer to Valparaiso included in the pre?
  3. It must be an amazing trip because it sold out very quickly.
  4. Thanks much for this. One of our concerns is not having the time to adjust to the altitude and, therefore, not getting as much enjoyment out of the extensions. Thanks for chiming in.
  5. @OneSixtyToOne Just found it. Thanks.
  6. Thanks! After looking into it further, you're right about Patagonia. It's proving difficult to find reviews on any of the pre/post extensions. Could you please provide a link to your "live" trip. We both found it very interesting at the time and would like to read it again.
  7. Any information about your personal experience on any of the extensions would be very helpful. At the moment, we’re considering: Best of Peru Wildlife of the Galápagos Islands Gateway to Patagonia
  8. Pre-Covid, MVJ listed the menu rotation. Since then there has been a "sample menu coming soon". I agree with you, if they went back to posting the menus there would be fewer changes. We used to book Chef's Table on the dining reservation booking day for our cruise. We no longer do that. We always wait until we see the menu rotation once we're on board.
  9. And the dinging was not turned off on Orion either.
  10. Amazon.ca used to sell Rugby meclizine, but haven't carried it in a few years. I buy Rugby meclizine by mail from the U.S. I've had Nexus since the program started. We've also been pulled over a few times for a search. The Rugby meclizine is always with me when I travel and I have had zero problems.
  11. Barcelona is one of my favourites. Enjoy!!
  12. I think it’s all good, and a missing piece in the schedule is nothing to worry about. It’s just today’s snapshot. Happy packing 😊
  13. We are on the cruise on Venus just before you. We board in Auckland on the 6th of January. I don't see a reason to be worried.
  14. I don't look at them everyday. The promos Florida Flounder is posting are exactly the same as the promos we receive.
  15. We get the same promos almost every day, and we can use the same codes to book. To get the promos, we signed up with a different email address than the email address we use to book.
  16. Then they would have to define the term “ratty”. It’s in the eye of the beholder — sort of like how long can you vacate your lounger.
  17. On our recent Hong Kong to Vancouver cruise, there was a destination performance (Awa dance) the evening before passengers disembarked in Tokyo. It was repeated on the evening passengers embarked in Tokyo. This was one of the many highlights of our cruise.
  18. I think you can board the ship at 11:00am. Possibly your stateroom isn't ready until 2:00pm. We board at 11:00am and head straight to the Pool Grill for lunch, which we then take to the Aquavit Terrace. The Pool Grill opens at 11:30am.
  19. Same with us. We book directly with Viking and transfer to our TA. She's always surprised. We have done around 10 cruises with Viking also, maybe a couple more. We currently have 3 booked.
  20. I think that varies. We have cruises booked where PIF is 4 months out. I don't know why. We didn't ask for a later than normal PIF.
  21. We recently finished the Hong Kong to Vancouver cruise with Viking. Whittier was not one of our port stops, but I assume you'll be travelling down the Inside Passage. Our cabin was port side. The weather was so beautiful, we took photos from the bow outside of the Explorers Lounge. The scenery was gorgeous. Enjoy!
  22. Thanks very much. We are enjoying reading about your voyage and your wonderful photography. It looks like you're having a fabulous time.
  23. Definitely. We do that all the time. Very good advice.
  24. We spent a lot of time with Peter Mawby. He would be in the Explorer's Lounge every morning at 8:00 helping us to identify the birds and the sealife. He was very interesting and I hope he will be on your cruise. Guest Entertainers: Don Bryan: ventriloquist Doug Cameron: a rousing violinist Hayden Smith: singer Alexa Smith: dancer, singer Graham Seymour was the CD -- a really great guy and the best CD we've had on Viking
