  1. I agreed Club Balcony Suite shouldnā€™t include Suite in the name. Noticed Club Balcony Suites approx. $800 less than Suites; and Suites approx $960 less than some Haven Suites on the Joy. Thereā€™s probably more cabin/balcony square footage in Suites to justify it costing $800 more than a Club Balcony Suite. The first time I cruised in a MiniSuite I was disappointed that it only had a larger walk-in shower; but I must say it was a nice shower on the Escape.
  2. I saw a 10 day cruise on NCL Getaway to 6 ports from New York, Bermuda, San Juan, Dominican Republic & St. Maarten Apr 2024. This itinerary sounds interesting since Iā€™ve never visited aforementioned islands. Is April a good time to go and is it safe. Do you have to worry about Caribbean Pirates? Sort of joking about the piratesā€¦
  3. I was noticing on the NCL Joy staterooms goes from Inside to Oceanview to Balcony to Club Balcony Suite to Suite to Haven. The Joy charges more for Suites than Club Balcony Suites. I wonder what staterooms categories will exist after changes taking place in January 2024 on the Joyā€¦I hear they are adding more Balcony staterooms by decreasing the size of the Observation Lounge.
  4. Sometimes itā€™s for the nutritional value. I use to not like liver either but my Mother would cook liver smothered in onions/gravy and it would taste like a steak. I think a good cook could make anything taste good.
  5. I was wondering when MiniSuite was divided into Suite and Club Balcony Suite on many NCL ships. The last time I reserved a MiniSuite was in 2019 on the Escape. I figured they came up with new categories to make more money. COVID really hurt a lot of businesses financially. Do anyone know when the new categories came about. What is the differenceā“
  6. My first cruise cabin in 2016 was a balcony on the Breakaway, 2017 MinSuite on the Gem, 2018 MiniSuite on the Escape; and, Iā€™ve only experienced the Haven once resulting from winning an upgrade from MiniSuite into a Penthouse Courtyard Suite on the Escape in 2019. As you see I am new to cruising but I know what I like. MiniSuites on the Escape was nice and I discovered was a balcony cabin with a larger bathroom; but, I did loved the larger walk in shower. I donā€™t remember much about the Gem except for the tiny 13ā€ TV in the cabin and that I never will cruise on the Gem again! Cabin feel is important to me and the Haven felt like home (without a butler šŸ˜†)ā—ļøI had reserved the Haven on the Bliss in 2020 but Covid HITā€¼ļø. What I enjoy mostly about the Haven is the Suite decor and the Haven restaurantā€¦no crowds and satisfying meals. I wanted to try a Haven Suite with a separate bedroom outside the Haven complex but then on disembarkation I would not be able to take my luggage onto the service elevator in the Haven complex. As a result from my experiences, I decided to reserve a Haven Penthouse Courtyard Suite with a large balcony on the Joy in 2024ā€¦the large balcony should make the experience different since Iā€™ve only had small balconies on previous cruises. Iā€™m saying all this to say many who talks about the Haven is because it is a wonderful experience. I love hearing different opinions about cruising no matter what cabins cruisers are occupying. The only negative about the Haven is the price but itā€™s worth it to some. I could save $900-$1200 if I reserved a Haven Suite outside the Haven complex but I like convenience. Since I will only be cruising with my adult daughter I wouldnā€™t feel right to even consider bidding on a two bedroom Suite in the complexā€¦there are those who probably could use a larger Suite for parties of 4-6. Not to mention Iā€™m paying a lot as it isā€¦as I said I know what I like and I like the Haven. Happy Cruising šŸ˜ŽšŸ·
  7. You will love the ship šŸ›³ļø and Bermuda šŸ‡§šŸ‡² island. Enjoyed on a 7 day cruise that NCL ship stays at port for almost 3 daysā€¦donā€™t have to be afraid of missing ship & rush back for a couple of days.
  8. Found some earlier pics of my first NCL cruise to Bermuda in balcony cabins with collapsible storage Found some earlier NCL cruises pics in 2016 with collapsible storage cubes and hanging shoe rack in my balcony cabin.
  9. Funny thatā€™s what my daughter says šŸ˜†. Thereā€™s favor with all the onions, garlic & peppers I use.šŸ˜‹
  10. Yes, I like my food medium well to well cooked. Hopefully it will destroy any bacteria that may exist.
  11. Some of my earlier 2016-2018 cruises to Bermudaā€¦love the island ā¤ļø
  12. I love going on a cruise from NYC to Bermuda! The only difference is I would be boarding NCL. Cheers šŸ·šŸ˜Ž
  13. This is why I prefer NCLā€¦the food is at least cooked and much better!!!
  14. Yes, if you paid for something take advantage of it. Thatā€™s why when I stay in the Haven for the second time next year I plan to eat as many breakfast & dinners in the Haven restaurant; not to mention lunch on embarkation day. I want filet mignon & lobster tails everyday! In 2019 I won a bid for a Haven Courtyard Suite which was my first experience but I spent more time exploring the Escape ship & port in Bermuda. I didnā€™t know how to fully embrace all the perks that comes with the Haven; but, that will not be the case the second go round. Happy cruising šŸ˜Ž šŸ·
  15. Starbucks coffee sounds pretty stronge!!! I guess I will have to add lots of milk to try it šŸ˜†
  16. Yes, tea is everywhereā€¦Iā€™ve never had a cup of tea ā˜•ļø I didnā€™t enjoyā€¦especially when I add cream. I just want to try Starbucks coffee since itā€™s free in the Haven restaurant and Horizon Lounge. Thanks I will try your suggestion to try milk with espressoā€¦that sounds tolerable.
  17. Wowā€¦the nerve of some peopleā€¼ļø You canā€™t judge a book by its cover. I use to be Seven Stars from gambling in Atlantic City & use to get looks from some (quite often clerks working in the establishment) that I couldnā€™t be Seven Starsā—ļø Some are better at managing their finances and can treat theirselves to gifts they want from time to timeā€¦you donā€™t have to be rich.
  18. Congratulations on the weight lost šŸ‘!!! I enjoy food in the specialty restaurants and luckily not a dessert šŸØ loverā€¦Iā€™m more into meat, potatoes & vegetables with a glass of wine šŸ·. I hope exploring the ship/port will help burn off some of the calories gained during the cruise.
  19. Haven Suite bedroom looks nice. I wondered if they will configure other suites in the Haven complex.
  20. I often wondered what the fuss was about concerning Starbucks! I guess because Iā€™m a tea (with cream/milk) drinker I canā€™t relate. On my cruise on the Joy next year I plan to try an espresso, cappuccino or latte since I believe itā€™s available in the Haven restaurant & Horizon Observation Deck. I donā€™t like the taste of coffee but maybe Starbucks is different.
