  1. Full year revenues of 21.6 billion, an all time record. Amazing.
  2. Wait, according to the negative nellies, nobody was booking Carnival. How do you erase 6 billion in debt if nobody books cabins? How do you have 65 percent of 24 slots filled? Loving CC today. 😅
  3. We used to do it every cruise. Dropped off some in recent cruises. The only issue we have ever found is when they do not have a wine that we really wanted (available early in the cruise but less so as cruise goes on). Pretty good deal.
  4. Well, I would agree with the OK. Certainly not in the top 5, but it has grown so so much, there is a lot to offer there in terms of amenities near the port. The number of stay and cruise as well as the parking options are among the best in the industry. The food options for day before is also impressive. Sail away is nice but does not rival NYC, Miami or even Tampa. Lastly, as and important, the options to sail from there are VERY iimpressive.
  5. Extremely, despite what the bashers love to preach on, it shows the strength of the product. Even more meaningful, it dramatically shows that you do not need to be monstrosity of the seas to attract clients.
  6. It is a meaningful step in the process, my guess is as soon as they possibly could they would. Whether it is feasible when still so far in debt is something beyond me.
  7. And yet they are still 30 billon in the hole, due to being mandated closed by the feds, not of their own doing for over 19 months. No other industry had to endure what this one did, all others were fed subsidized. The nerve of them….😱
  8. Carnival’s gem of homeports. One of the most unique sail aways in cruising.
  9. This is great news for a company that needed some, https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2023/12/carnival-corp-reports-record-2023-revenue-and-fourth-quarter-earnings/
  10. Just to echo my stance on the status of things. https://cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/2023/12/carnival-corp-reports-record-2023-revenue-and-fourth-quarter-earnings/
  11. As it is on most Carnival ships (and it has been a while since we sailed Sunrise, but was the same then also).
  12. And from a loss of life perspective, the granddaddy of all hurricanes. https://www.history.com/news/how-the-galveston-hurricane-of-1900-became-the-deadliest-u-s-natural-disaster
  13. A while back a hurricane hit galveston. The existing cruise returned to New Orleans and the cruisers were bussed back. Their was significant news coverage of the piled up cars at the lots near the terminal. Storms and hurricanes specifically take horrendous tolls on possessions and loss of life.
  14. I would bet a new class, think it had been in the works before the Mardi Gras, agree on some of the older ships, their days are numbered.
  15. While I might argue the dates you mention, we agree on most things.
  16. We agree on the last point. Nobody said they did not need to control their debt. I did not say they were going out and build out of control like RCCL has done (which is also in great debt , both not of their own doing but s forced shut down that All agree was a WAY overstepped knee jerk reaction). I am also aware of what the Carnival Corp brass said at the time they were WAY upside down on horrendous debt. They have done a really good job of refinancing what was terrible debt to a dramatically better situation and reduced their debt substantially in one year. Possibly a best bet scenario. They certainly are not out of the woods. All that said, my post stands. There will be an order placed by the end of 2024 and it will be for CCL. Doing that, will boost sales even further, and reestablish their plan further back to normalcy.
  17. I would guess it is more for sales and marketing to prolong life span of the product. I get your point of what is required vs that. How do they inspect hull?
  18. I agree that was their intent. It becomes much more of a marketing thing than a cost. There will be a new ship signing and it will be be for CCL. Count on it.
