  1. If and when you booked, it all evens out, it just a state determining how they market.
  2. I believe it is extra room keys only, not swapping people's accounts in rooms.
  3. you would be correct, but it is interesting to see how people react.
  4. Cruises for life for free….
  5. Curious, what better deal are you trying to get?
  6. Never seen that without it being an upgrade offer, or occupancy issue. Sold out ship does add the dilemma.
  7. We agree on all of that. I was not trying to drag this into a Covid discussion, rather, more of a comment on this experience called life, as opposed to a cruising experience.
  8. IT is your vacation after all. Maybe there would be another solution....just saying.
  9. Not sure he/she did. If it happened that morning or whatever the circumstances are/were. 32 cabins to turn over in a couple hours puts all on a tightrope to get it all done. Things happen.
  10. Back to back, meaning they stayed on for two cruises.
  11. I have seen more than a couple movements that have me scratching my head, but I am sure there are a lot of dynamics to the equation.
  12. I am confused, which did you dislike more?
  13. Of all the things I want to think about bringing, cones are fairly down on the list.
  14. Standards and following them are fine. Anything covid related gets a pass from me. Extraordinary times, no experience in dealing with it and for ed lockdown and treatment WAY beyond anything else in the world. Free pass.
  15. Thanks for the review. Bingo is the same on every Carnival ship, IMHO a waste of time. The Sunshine is in her twilight days, obviously not the same experience as sailing their new ships.
  16. The insurance that Carnival offers covers weather and illness. It will not cover things outside of the cruise such as transportation and lodging or other key essentials pertaining to your trip. One would need to think how much there are and if you need insurance to cover them (vs the cost of the insurance). There are MANY threads here on travel insurance.
  17. We have done three Alaska cruises in July. It is the top if their season and ports may be busy. The inside passage is a rainforest (nota tropical rainforest) and there is fairly good chance you will get some weather, so keep that ion mind. For us, layers are the key. It will be a great cruise, enjoy it.
  18. Before sailaway (or after debark) or during a cruise?
  19. I have seen that as well. THAT is a whole different topic. I have NOT seen dog sniffers on cruises tho.
  20. Obviously we do not know what the actual details are for each decision (and using this one as the discussion point). I have no idea whether they would come to a decision differently if you supply different information. It is the nature of the beast. The point of this thread is A customer chose to leave the cruise line for the vendor stating they did not think his rationale for meeting the price guarantee (for a relatively small amount). Obviously, we can all make decisions for whatever reason we want. Would you leave if they did not come back and grant you your request? From my viewpoint, the policy is what it is. I keep thinking of the sales pitch joke about guarantees regarding the butcher in Tommy Boy. I prefer to take their word for it. YOMV.
  21. Please do. You can set your expectation level however you want. The facts are still the same.
