  1. Have you been over to California Adventure?
  2. That's the question of the day! If it were me (which it is not) I would wait a few days and try again. Things are jammed up and that app never worked well in the first place. I will not be surprised to find out they change things, too, as the cruise gets closer. Different dining rooms, new time slots, etc. I keep hearing from Coral people that there is no clear designation for either of the two dining rooms. One of them will need to be half and half. Maybe both of them will. I guess the problem is similar for the Island people. If this app thing is a mess, imagine how it will be on board all the ships once real people show up to eat. I was one of the first victims of DMW after the pause, and they had no clue how to handle the mess. Let's hope they learned from that. In any case, my heart goes out to you, and fingers crossed things will improve in the next few days or weeks.
  3. What a great public service you started here, OP! I was wondering how the "little" DRs on Diamond and Sapphire would work.
  4. I guess I'm confused. I thought you were talking about fixed seating. You want reservation dining, right? So you are one of those people who already had the reservations you wanted and Princess cancelled them? What a nightmare. I still think waiting a few days (or weeks) and trying again might get you a better result. Everything is all jammed up today. Good luck.
  5. That might change in the future, This whole reservations thing sounds like such a mess, I won't be surprised if things get moved around. Another option is to select "shared" if that's all you can get and then try for a private table when you actually get on board.
  6. No one knows yet. You need to go into your own booking and try to figure it out. Princess is stingy with information about this.
  7. It seems to be the case that the DR designations are not consistent across the fleet. I figured all TD would end up in whatever aft deck 6 DR the ship had, but I guess that's not the case. So confusing--good luck everyone.
  8. On your cruise it will probably be in Skywalkers. I love that because of the great views. If there are too many PES guests on board, they might switch it to Vista Lounge (Club Fusion?) which is about 100% view free. Some of the food is good--shrimp cocktail, guacamole, California rolls, etc. Some of it is just cheese and crackers.
  9. This whole thing is a real cluster, huh? Glad I'm not booked at this point in time! Good luck, everyone!
  10. Well, that varies from ship to ship. The Coral is going to be an exception anyway with only the two dining rooms. The Royal class ships provided lots more two and four tops than were on the Grand class ships. Taking people from one dining room to another was never ideal, but it was a solution, and it was done for years, starting with the inception of Anytime Dining. In any case, I wish you luck in settling it all, and I can guarantee you will love the Coral. Prettiest ship in the fleet.
  11. I'm curious. Is this new time for making reservations for the new scheme or is it for those people sailing before that who got their already-made reservations cancelled? (I'm not doing any of this at the moment, and I feel pain for all of you fighting the app.)
  12. There are a lot more fans of TD than post here on CC. And if the TD dining room is not full and the walk up is crazy, they will direct some of those walk ups to the empty TD tables exactly as they used to do in the past, pre covid and pre DMV.
  13. My experience has been that times will vary from ship to ship. I think I'll wait for six months or so to see how it all shakes out before booking another cruise.
  14. I love crab cakes and I would prefer them to lobster for any MDR dinner. Those in Pinnacle are just yummy.
  15. I don't think anyone knows about that for any of the ships for the new dining scheme. If I had to guess, I would say it would be one of those midship, deck 5 or 6. But who knows?
  16. I don't know if that's the case, but the last lobster I had on a HAL cruise was small, dry and rubbery.
  17. So what became of the SHARE location when that place went belly up? I haven't been on Ruby for years, but I remember a Sabatini's at the back of the ship with great views and the Adagio bar next door. I never went to SHARE and don't really remember how it was set up.
  18. I have been on several of those coastal cruises, and never have I seen any spring break rowdiness.
  19. I guess I need to visit a Golden Corral sometime to see what the fuss is about. Is there a place on shore to have lunch before you board the ship? I guess that would vary from port to port, but it works for us in San Diego.
  20. I guess we have just been lucky. 40+ cruises over five lines, and we have only had maybe three bad experiences with tablemates.
  21. I got up and ran at the first glimpse of those horrible snakes!
