  1. In the working world outside of travel blogging there is a saying —Safety First My point was that if NCL isn’t aware of safety incidents, they can’t do anything about them. Maybe nothing needs to be done, but at least with information the risk can be properly assessed. We don’t know if OP is the only person who has been injured at this beach and it’s just a fluke, or if someone gets hurt regularly. It’s not my job or anyone on CCs job to decide what, if any, actions should be taken, but I’m pretty sure NCL has people who look at these things and would want to know when passengers are hurt.
  2. Thanks for the advice, OP. I think it is smart to bring this type of issue up with NCL so they can do whatever is needed to help prevent future injuries. Improvements can’t be made without information. The change may be something as simple as adding a statement to the excursion disclaimer that there are sharp rocks and water shoes are recommended so that future cruisers are prepared.
  3. It is not the greatest website ever, but it does allow you to sort excursions by port and the duration is listed on the right side of the listing for each excursion.
  4. My experience from the Encore Vibe in December. I did not see a food menu and there was no onboard credit for our cabana purchase.
  5. Ocean Blue > Cagney’s on the Breakaway. Food was slightly better at Ocean Blue, but the service and overall experience was way better.
  6. All of the excursion options that conflict with excursions already booked are removed. That’s why you saw the number drop.
  7. We were given our cabana number when we checked in at the pier. Not able to select our own number (Breakaway December 2022). I didn’t even consider requesting in advance so I’m not sure if that is an option.
  8. I’m pretty sure you aren’t a three minute walk to port. You will embark at the Pan American port and not Old San Juan.
  9. The math is a bit flawed because the amount of time it takes to do a full room cleaning in the morning and the amount of time for turn down are not equivalent.
  10. They called guests with priority boarding before general boarding, but there was not a specific line.
  11. On the BA in December you had to go to the theater box office to make show reservations. Deck 7 in the theater.
  12. You have a 9am check in time, not boarding time. Haven will board first, but I would be surprised if it is any time before 11am.
  13. Don’t engage the troll. This is obviously a BS post.
  14. My experience on the 12/11-12/18 Breakaway cruise echos yours. All aspects of the FAS+ package were acceptable other than frustrations over the beverage package upgrade. I was mostly interested in having bottles of better wine during the cruise. We had issues every time we requested a specific bottle of “premium plus” wine. They never had what we requested. Not a single time. It’s not like we kept ordering the same elusive wine. We asked for something different each night. Most of the time the wine steward would come and try to assist with the selection of another bottle, but we were often halfway through dinner by the time we finally got a drink. Le Bistro and Ocean Blue were exceptions with the wine steward coming to the table with suggestions prior to us ordering anything. They were also much more aware of what was actually in stock. At Moderno there was zero effort to try to find us a premium plus option and in the Manhattan Room we were made to feel like a burden for the amount of time that had been spent attempting to find the bottle we ordered. I would probably get the upgraded package again, but only if I knew the supply issues were resolved.
  15. We just disembarked the Breakaway and I can comment on the Spice Farm and the Chocolate Tours. The Spice Farm (and Ruins) excursion was fantastic. It is a beautiful property and you get to smell, feel, and taste spices along the tour. I wasn’t impressed with the Chocolate tour. Our tour also went to a tequila tasting and bee farm, but we spent way too long at each place and the requests for tips were pretty heavy-handed. I imagine there are better tours in Cozumel.
  16. There is a “library”, but the selection is small. I would bring your own books.
  17. I’ve never had anyone check my name or ship card at the start of an excursion. As long as I had the ticket no one cared about anything else.
  18. Unfortunately there is not a way to predict which of the 14 rotating menus will be used each night on your cruise. I believe it is at the discretion of the head chef.
  19. There is no cost to prebook. You are just making a reservation. You can reserve restaurant times even if you don’t have a dining package.
  20. It is probably worth it if you swim with the dolphins. If you just go to see the animals and shows you will have a LONG day ahead of you. Just a heads up, the “buffet” is the worst food I’ve ever had. Like half as good as school lunches.
  21. If you put the reservations in your cart, but didn’t check out, the hold time probably expired and they went bye bye.
  22. The fine print on the image of the promo says that no additional gratuities will be charged.
