The locals also claimed that they dropped anchor and at one point were stuck. I am not sure any of this is true... Was this a Hawaii ship size violation or the fact that they had more than 15 people on board? Or both?

Yep. I just took a peek again. The circle Australia cruise hit Indonesia for a couple of stops. Celebrity does have an Australia only Sydney to Great Barrier reef cruise. That would give me half of the circle. I would then need to cruise up the left side.

I find high inflation to be nibbling away at everything that I purchase these days. My DW reminds me 😁 Now that I am looking at other lines I am seeing similar complaints on other boards. I will have to try them out to see for myself. For my last cruise it was the charging for room service and elevated wine pricing that changed right before the cruise...

In my last cruise search, I found out that the E class is taking over some itineraries. Which is nice if you are in a suite, but rather pricey. It is looking like my next cruise will be on Princess.

The last time I checked there were a few cruises that circled Australia. But only a few. I would like to circle Australia before I go back to New Zealand again.

Oh my lying eyes... Replay the video from a cruiser on this cruise. I will take video/photos over opinion and spinning any day. Perhaps there is a reason that they are not allowed to do this on the next cruise?

I would agree with this. It was a PR nightmare for Royal and the other cruise lines. When you see parts of the ship with water running through or tables moving and glass banging and breaking being recorded by the cruisers, it cuts down on bookings. In the case of this cruise, they could have avoided the whole incident by slightly delaying the cruise. However now days cruises tend to avoid the worst of the storms vs. heading right into them. It seems like having Captain Obvious on board could have solved this situation also. The cruisers on this cruise had a bad experience because the start of the cruise was the storm and then they came right back for repairs... We can observe the video and see that the ship was close to reefs. Very beautiful by the way. I suppose that they will not fare well covered in sand. Dang video... We also have fish finder sonar depth readings of other boats in the area. The boats in the area are incredulous that a cruise ship would come in this close. These are people that are sailing the area on a daily basis and know the depths by experience..

Provide CURRENT depth contours (if they exist) and the ship's position over time and we can laugh about this later... We can talk about how close they came to beaching it... They are close. How close is the question... From passenger video it looks like they were very close ... Dang videos ... The passenger reports of sand in the wash also mean that they were rather shallow... My escapades are on a much smaller boat. There is no way that I would go this shallow with this large of a draft and unknown dept contours with this big of a ship. You can roll the dice, but eventually you lose.

The captain was not the captain on the next cruise (our cruise). Please provide documentation and news stories ... This was widely talked about amongst the crew and cruisers...

Eventually is the key word here. The uproar will have died down by then. I never did figure out what happened when the RCL ship went out into 30 footers and burned out the azipod... I agree 110%. Were they both blind and deaf? Time for Captain Obvious to be hired...

They will not admit liability ... We will likely not know what caused this mess up...
