  1. How bizarre. I’ve tried same cruise and cabin grade as you Hattie to try it - comes up with same price for Cunard fare but no OBC appears. Anyway think I’ve figured it out now - I’ve got a VPN on my phone - set to UK - turned it off and OBC is now there. So just a heads up to others if you use a VPN.
  2. Just looking on the Cunard website - is it my imagination or has OBC disappeared (and also the alternatives for bus/car parking too) that go with Cunard fare. Tried a dummy booking (obviously stopped before checkout) and nowhere is the amount of OBC shown or alternatives. Either I’m just not seeing it or it’s just not there anymore? This was looking on my mobile phone at the website not on computer but shouldn’t make any difference. Am sure it always showed it long before the checkout stage. Any ideas - or is it just their awful website glitching ? Thank you
  3. Just seen a post on the book of visages that Carnival is looking to use Starlink for satellite connections on its fleet. Not sure who will receive first dibs but will include Cunard though not sure what queue position they will be in.
  4. Could you ask to be booked on two back to back cruises if there are any that might fit in with places you want to go ? I know they say cruise usually has to be higher value but could be worth asking as two cruises together would probably be high enough value if they allow it. I always think it’s a shame that even though P&O come under Carnival they won’t allow transfer within cruise lines in the group - seems bonkers to me !
  5. Wow wish I was onboard. Appreciate many will not be pleased but what an experience!
  6. Looks like filling in online is now dead and buried. You may have to do at terminal if required. Updated today on Cunard website.
  7. Thank you. Anyway hopefully it will be soon dead and buried for good ! Hope anyone affected manages to recoup any loss.
  8. Surely p&o have to refund if they cancel yiur holiday ? After all if you fill in the questionnaire and put Yes somewhere- it’s not you that’s cancelling of your own choice - it’s P&O cancelling your cruise. Perhaps academic now but their website does state - “In the unlikely event that P&O Cruises needs to cancel your cruise, we guarantee you an enhanced Future Cruise Credit (FCC). This can be used on any new booking on sale in that period or you can use it to upgrade an existing booking. If you’d like to upgrade, please contact your travel agent or our Customer Contact Centre if you booked direct. Please note, this FCC is not covered by ABTA's scheme of financial protection, although any booking made using this FCC will be protected up to the amount of the refund due on the original booking. If the enhanced Future Cruise Credit offer does not meet your needs, you can request a full refund instead.”
  9. I wonder if other Carnival brands eg Cunard will do same ? hopefully those who have been victims of the health declaration form will have been recompensed - silence may just mean NDAs I hope.
  10. Not that I’m aware of, other than the obvious prohibited items.
  11. Thank you. I have rung TA today and have note on the booking now to check flights when they come out in April.
  12. The laundrettes are free and they have a dispenser with free bags of powder - if you need a special powder type eg sensitive skin, you could bring your own. There are ironing boards also in the laundrettes to do your own ironing. In your room will be a bag with price list if you wish to use the laundry service rather than laundrette.
  13. It’s a Cunard flight booked with the cruise at time of booking - TA holds the booking. Will ring them and find out what info they have about it. Thank you
  14. 2024 we are booked on a WC segment on QV ending in Sydney then flying back from Oz to Manchester - flights are booked with Cunard. Just wondering if you can upgrade flight home from economy to business class ? If so at what point do I request option/price to upgrade (assuming it’s reasonable cost) - am booked via TA. thank you
  15. In UK if you put yes it will be denied boarding and no FCC I think. Not sure if you are US or Aussie booking site as will have different terms and conditions- you would be best to check with Cunard or TA for relevant booking site.
  16. And reading the P&O threads be aware that if it just a cough hanging over from a recent cold etc that no insurance cover is likely to pay - since they would require medical evidence you are unwell - which you wouldn’t be able to get. Beware !
  17. Anyone there now or who has been there - just wanting to get an idea of what Cunard offer as excursions in Auckland and Wellington? Any particular recommendations would be useful. Also Sydney - we have overnight there so one full day before disembarking but was thinking of just doing our own thing - harbour and Opera house etc. Thank you.
  18. TBH if you have to fill in the questionnaire 3 days or whatever before boarding, don’t bother with a LFT, the safest option is to organise beforehand and pay for an observed or in person PCR. As per Megabear2 advice - if it’s positive then insurer should pay up.
  19. TBH the whole Covid testing /deny boarding /questionnaire issue is a complete farce. All it’s doing is causing people to be dishonest. If the cruise lines want to stay in business they seriously need to do something about this. We don’t all have a bottomless pit of money to take the chance of losing the cost of a cruise given that no insurers will provide cover.
  20. No Randox near me. By time a kit was posted and used could well be not showing as positive. So not much good. Just looking at Megabear2 comments re current insurance situation if denied boarding.. Fair to say you’d have to have something to prove Covid and no doctor is going to see you with it! And no insurance companies seem to cover unless you can show claim under medical section it seems.
  21. In the event you test positive on a home lateral flow test, previous threads would indicate for insurance claim your best option to claim might be to obtain a PCR test to prove you have Covid - how would you go about it ? Given that you’d need to do it asap so probably still infectious ? thank you
  22. Absolutely- am with bank policy not Staysure. Not an issue at present for me but you can never predict these things and potentially leaves you with no insurance at all that’s of any real use. They are all sharks. I will be reading my policy very carefully! Sorry that megabear2 no longer posting. thank you
  23. Not sure if I’m understanding correctly but what happens if - you have declared existing condition A and booked a holiday - you then start to have symptoms of condition B but medics unsure exactly what condition B is, so you get referred to hospital for investigation. You are still under investigation due to long NHS waiting times so unlikely to know what B is before departure. So you might feel unsafe to travel in thst instance and want to cancel. Would insurance pay up if you cancel due to being under investigations (either deposit or full amount depending on how far away the holiday departure is) or would they class as disinclined to travel and likely pay nothing. Or would you have to get medics to declare you unfit to travel due to B for insurance to pay up in that sort of situation? Hope that explains anyway.
  24. Chat bots can often take you to a real person - type in ‘agent please’ - often works !
  25. I wouldn’t assume anything - I’d be asking if they have received it. If not then complete another and send by recorded post.
