  1. Verizon user here that did Alaska in 2019 i had service in every port except icy point straight/Hoonah.
  2. i know, but i also still knew what she meant. i have been on the Jade, Gem(x2) & Jewel (x2). i have yet to sail on the pearl. she seems to do a lot of oddball routes and charters. that said the jewel class is my favorite.
  3. spending time with my elderly father, spending time with my elderly father as he enjoys himself, the food, the entertainment and just a relaxing vibe.
  4. in Michigan she would be facing a would be a felony charge.
  5. i would really like to do this as the jewel class is my favorite NCL class yet i have never been to the pearl. i have never been to Maine either.
  6. 62-year-old woman with nose candy. granny you are not 16 anymore. on my last NCL cruise (Portugal to new York) there was a gentleman who brought some marijuana onboard ( I resisted the urge to call it jazz cabbage) when i "caught" him smoking it, he was like? are you going to tell? no dude i am not going to tell.
  7. i love the jewel class ship; unfortunately, I have not had the chance to go on anything smaller. i do preferer these to the megaships. just a different vibe.
  8. when i took my dad on his first cruise (2019), i had the unfortunate event of finally convicting him to try the MDR (he really enjoyed the buffet on the jade) and well it was beyond awful for both of ours. my pasta was swimming in water his steak was boiled tasteless (and swimming in water) and our starters were yuk) we both walked out. it took some pestering to get him back to the MDR the next cruise. he now prefers the MDR to all other options.
  9. the epic has a lot of really good itineraries, just a dud of a ship.
  10. well since it was the MDR, if you don't like it just get something else. post covid downgrades are noticeable across all lines; with tens of billions in debt this is somewhat understandable.
  11. two 40 something siblings of the opposite sex was kind awkward.
  12. NCL's mdr food has seen a noticeable decline pre vs post covid ; i have sailed royal twice post covid (never pre so no before and after) and their MDR food seems roughly comparable, but i must say i think NCL edges royal out slightly. for the buffet; the Indian is usually VERY good, i initially chose NCL because i took my father on his first cruise a month before his 80th birthday. i chose NCL due to their support of solo cruisers (i normally cruise solo, so i was future proofing if you will). We are now platinum and the benefits are (still) good so i will stay with them as my primary cruise line. john
  13. i have found NCL's main dining room to be very good with the buffet being ok (it is a buffet) but there are always one or two stellar dishes available. i have seen tours of the new celebrity ships and if by wow you mean ostentatious, then yes.
  14. would you say the same thing is some "other" demiened your ingroup in anyway?
  15. i Love the MDR on a 7 night cruise i will eat there 4 times for dinner and 7 times for breakfast and lunch when it is open. that said i can say i really cant remember the menu. i basically never get the permanent menu though. the chicken cordon blue is good. OK i looked it up: beef medallions, bang bang chicken, i just wish they would bring back the croc madame (sp?) for breakfast
  16. how is that even possible? i am not joking. because it IS out of the ordinary.
  17. there is no way around it; the epic sucks. if you are going in summer it should be very easy to find another Mediterranean cruise by NCL.
  18. I read somewhere that there were going to be three ships in the epic class. originally
  19. i guess you have never lived in Northeast Wisconsin 🤪
  20. but hey it is a cruise ship with an escalator!
  21. @TopofWorld NCL is noticeably downgraded pre-pandemic vs post-pandemic. You giving a score of 5/10 for entertainment seams fair. In my opinion entertainment has seen the deepest cuts. NCL has maybe $12,200,000,000 in interest baring covid debt. As one Croatian waiter stated NCL is pinching its pennies; or as @IrieBajan54 said " that's the state of affairs now in the industry. Lower standards at higher fares and service fees." i am sure this downgrade is across the industry. I was sailed Royal Caribbean two times, both since the cruising restart and NCL seems better (for me at least). NCL Epic has a well-earned reputation for having a strange layout, and the bathroom/sink is the biggest complaint of the ship. I have always had excellent customer service with NCL; that said all cruise lines are still having staffing issues.
  22. i did a 21-night san fransico to new york cruise for my 40th birthday, right when covid was kicking off (the princess ship was having its woes when i was on my cruise). this was by fare my favorite cruise ever. NCL's entertainment (and food for that matter) has been heavily trimmed since coming out of the covid pandemic. this is understandable they are still billions in debt, and still have not turned a profit. even a croatian waiter on one of my cruise stated about NCL's penny pinching. i am going to go out on a limb, and say all cruise lines are cutting. it is noticeable on airlines too.
  23. i have so far sailed on: the getaway, epic, jew, jade, gem, and pride of america with several repeat ships. i have never sailed on bliss, and i am rather intrigued. on the previously mentioned ships they all shared the same premium restaurants*, were as bliss has the BBQ and Mexican restaurants among a couple of others* and i would love to try them. *i still feel guilty about rewarding cruise lines and up charging.
