  1. Reminds me when I was told my grandaughter was having a baby. I was so excited and told my eldest grandson that I was going to be a great-grandma. 'You've always been a great grandma,' was the reply. Bless him☺️ Avril
  2. We have two great-grandchildren. A girl 11 and a boy 4. I thought being a Grandma was the best feeling, but a great-grandma is even better. Wonderful times ahead kalos for you and Mrs K. Avril

Two in row, we are being spoilt and it's only August😁 I've read @Purdey16 plans for the day and we've nothing as interesting planned, just usual chores and continuing the garden revamp. 6. Good morning all. I hope everyone is well and that the sun is shining for you🌞 A much better morning in my small corner on God's Own Country. Not too warm at the moment,13c, but hey, the sun is out and the sky is clear. I know it's been a terrible summer so far, but on the bright side for us, it's been good for sowing grass seed. We've been busy getting rid of the flower beds and borders and incorporating them into the lawn. Much easier to cut the grass than weed and maintain flower beds as we get older. We've transferred all the perennial plants into large pots which will be much easier to look after. We can still manage the greenhouse an raised vegetable beds for now🤞 How times change. When I look back to when we moved to this village, we rented a large allotment, kept a few chickens, and grew fruit and vegetables. Our daughter took it over when it got too much for us. I hate this getting old lark, but it's much better than the alternative😁 Have a good day everyone whether on land or sea.x Avril
  7. Thank you bro😙 Nice compliment☺️ I think🤔 Sis
  8. Good morning all. It's still raining here, not quite as heavy as it was, and the sun is bravely, but not very successfully, trying to fight it's way out. A cold breeze too. Max of 12c today for us😒 Have a lovely cruise @SarahHben Looking forward to reading your posts and enjoy the sunshine🌞 Avril
  9. Even though he annoys me by digging up the plants, I do worry about him crossing the road. not enough to adopt him though. He's a pretty savvy cat though, better road sense than some youngsters. Avril

  15. Gemma was cremated too. She was also in an oak box, with her name on a brass placque on the top. We kept her in a drawer for a whiile, and she now resides under her favourite apple tree where she used to rest after her long walks or have a sleep out of the sun. We never had another dog bro, Gemma was our first and last. Sis.
  16. Our beatiful border collie, Gemma, had a stroke at the age of 15. That was 23 years ago and reading Michelle's post and the replies has me in tears. It brings bring back our own loss. Gemma wormed her way into our hearts and and never left. She is unforgetable, and as you say Josy, irreplaceable. Avril
  17. We have also had to make that hard decision Michelle, as have others on here, so can understand how you're feeling. Take comfort in knowing that he was a happy, loyal, loving and much loved member of your family for many years. You know in your heart that you couldn't let him suffer, and that you have done the kindest thing you can to repay him for all the years of trust he had in you. You, and your family have my heartfelt condolences. x Avril
