  1. Your post is very true and made me smile😊 Your way with words never fails to amaze me. When I read through your interesting and incredibly written posts I often wonder if you were a journalist or something similar. 🤫 Kalos with his wonderful jokes and @Selbourne with his fascinating travel blogs are two others who have a way with words. Avril
  2. I'm glad you're both safely back home, I hated Woodhead even at the best of times, and if we had to use it I kept my eyes firmly closed. Not when I was driving I hasten to add😉 That was very nice of your neighbour kalos. Kind and helpful neighbours are becoming scarce. Avril
  3. I saw the comments on here earlier about Catherine and went to the news to see what I'd missed, needless to say I was totally shocked, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I saw her statement and and her poise and dignity bought me to tears. My thoughts are with Catherine, George, Charlotte, Louis and William, who also has the added worry of his father. I pray for their full recovery. After Catherine's personal statement I can only hope that the media etc will now finally leave them in peace. Avril
  4. Ne'er cast a clout 'til May be out Phil 😁 Avril
  5. We're well thank you kalos. I still scour Asda and check the salt content for new meal ideas, but I've a favourites list on there that I know are fine so it's getting easier. Breakfast is green, and I try to do the same for lunch, then I can use any amber for dinner. It seems to be working because Frank's feeling good and happy with his meals so that makes me happy too. Both you and Mrs K helped me understand what I thought would be a daunting task, and I thank you both. Have a lovely restful break, you both deserve it. Avril
  6. I have seen his posts on Selbourne's Aurora live thread, and also on Mrsgoggin's thread so he's still around. I don't think the posts are 'meaty' enough for our Harry😉, he enjoys a good newsworthy debate😊
  7. You can buy 'real' sausages that are lower in salt. I get some lovely frozen ones in asda. Avril
  8. Another chapter closed but a exciting new one begins. Have a safe journey home bro. Sis
  9. I wondered if they kept some appointments back for such things. Our GPs do phone consultations until 6pm. Pre covid the surgery always had 'emergency appointment slots'. Avril
  10. My daughter had the same problem last week. Phoned at 8am, 34th in the queue and was then told no appointments left for that day. However when she explained that the doctor had said he needed to review her new meds she put her on hold (possibly to check?) then came back with an appointment for that afternoon. Avril
  11. I was actually agreeing with you kalos, that the NHS do well with the resources they have. I know you weren't knocking the NHS and I'm sorry if it came across that you thought I was. Avril
  12. After our one and only urgent requirement for the NHS, I can't praise our hospital high enough. From the speed of the paramedics arrival,10mins, his assessment on arrival at the hospital, treatment and care were amazing. All this at a busy time, 28th Dec and during the doctor's strike. I know the NHS is struggling and many have issues with them but I can only speak as I find. Avril
  13. So pleased for you Josy. You can now look forward to your much needed cruise. I'm sure all the good wishes and crossed 'everythings' helped a little😊 Avril
  14. We have a soulangeana magnolia which is a tree, but prune it back every so often to keep it from becoming too large. There are smaller ones for small gardens or even for pots if you were interested in having one. . Avril
  15. @Josy1953 I hope you get the all clear from your GP today. I'm keeping my everything crossed for you🤞 Avril
  16. It will most likely be slugs Mb. The beautiful Camelia is a lovely reminder of your father. I have 3 surviving rose bushes that dad planted in 1967 and were moved into my garden when he died in 1991 Every spring when they come to life I feel a part of him is still with me. Avril
  17. Wow, that breakfast disappeared pretty sharpish Graham😁 Avril
  18. Our Magnolia is in full flower too and we hae a weeping cherry that has flower buds coming on as well. Seems Spring has sprung early this year. Avril
  19. There are some that are not accesible cabins but very few. We tried to book one in 2022 and were told that they book up very quickly on release. I'd ring them up and ask, it's worth a try. Avril
  20. @grapau27 A Very Happy Birthday to Pauline💐 She shares the day with my lovely sister who is also celebrating today. Avril
  21. Well we don't use salt any longer kalos so I have to do something with it 😁 Avril
  22. I take 25% of what I read in the media with a very large spoonful of salt.😏........ and the remaining 75% with a truck load😉 Avril
  23. Maybe they thought that not publishing any photo this Mother's Day would give the awful gossip mongers more fodder. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. They need to be left alone. Avril
