  1. Well a few more days we're told because they're waiting to book him in for his test as it's very busy🙄, so the wait and worry continues. Thank you all for your support it helps and keeps me to keep moving forward. x Avril
  2. Good morning everyone. Dull, damp and overcast this morning and 3c. @lincslady I hope you're alright after your fall. As a regular 'tripper upper', I know wnat a shock it can be. Good that they changed your meds as that was some of my problem. There's no tablets for clumsiness though. Frank is still in hospital and waiting for the colonoscopy to try to find the reason for his low hb levels. It could be this morning as they stopped one of his tablets yesterday because of the test🤞 He's still cheerful and eating well, he just wants his own bed. I wish I could be the same. I've been putting on a cheerful front for everyone, but inside I;m quietly falling apart. At least I can be myself on here with my cc friends. Take care everyone and enjoy your day x Avril
  3. Good evening everyone. Well another fews days more we're told. His hb levels still are't high enough yet so he's booked in for a colonoscopy. Now i'm back to nattering again as to what the problem is. They keep mentioning this ruddy 'leak' and it's frustrating, I wish Frank had asked him. On the plus side he's still eating well and has gained a little weight and best of all, he's not on the heart monitor. I hope all the test results being waited for are back soon with a positive result and @Josy1953I also agree with Benecol drinks and also Benecol spread. they were recommend by our doctor and do help in lowering cholesterol. Avril
  4. Morning all. Feeling a little anxious today. As kalos says, the doctor will be discussing the results, treatment and hopefully his discharge. I'm sure we had the worst diagnosis with heart failure, so we're on the home stretch. @Josy1953 I hope your test results are good and that @lincslady you have a satisfactory discussion with your doctor tomorrow. Keep us updated. x The washer's just finished, so i'll deal with that and get ready for what kalos fondly calls the 'hozzie'😁 It's bloomin' cold out there this morning so wrap up well if you're out and about and take care. x Avril
  5. Morning. Dull and damp here too and a very pleasant 2c😬 Just having a quiet coffee before the taxi comes at 10.40am and I stay until 6pm. Long days I know, but we are missing each other so much. The visiting hours are 9am - 9pm so they don't mind. I get a coffee and a sandwich from Costa downstairs and then sit and have lunch together. We probably won't learn anything about test results, treatment, discharge etc until tomorrow so have to be patient. Frank's looking and feeling better(and slimmer) so everything crossed🤞 I've lost 12lb over the last 10 days, I know I wanted to lose some weight but there are better ways🙄 Have a good day everyone and keep warm. x Avril
  6. Good evening. Quick update . After Frank's endoscopy it appears he also has a hiatus hernia which were told is common, nothing to worry about and treated with meds, so thats one out of the way. Now just to see about treatment for his heart and hb levels🤞 Blimey, that man of mine won't do anything by half. His first time in hospital and he's making sure he gets his money's worth😊 @lincslady I hope your feeling well today and your treatment begins soon. Take care everyone and have a good evening.x Avril
  7. We always book our cruises in the colder months for some extra sunshine and warmth, so those of us who are still here would appreciate a bottle of sunshine on your return🌞 Have a wonderful cruise Bob. Avril
  8. Thank you. Frank has never had any heart issues before and has always been told, after his doctor's medical reviews, that he has a strong steady heartbeat, which is why it came as such a shock. We were only told he had suffered a heart failure. he had a echo scan yesterday and is still waiting for the cameras. After that things should be a little clearer. Other than that he's still eating like a horse and is begining to settle more into the hospital enviroment. I'm sure all will be well for you LL. Our NHS medical staff are amazing and aren't given the credit that everyone, from domestics to consultants deserve. I wish you a speedy recovery. Take care. x Avril
  9. Thank you so much kalos, it has eased my worries a little. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's not easy. Frank is just worried he can't do his gardening anymore. He could take up comedy like another person we all know and love. x Avril
  10. We finally had a chat with the doctor today and he told us that Frank had a heart failure last Thursday and it stunned us both. I am really worried now, more than before. Avril
  11. I hope all the results for both you and your dog are positive. Thinking of you and take care. Avril
  12. I agree totally Presto. I have always thought that this thread has been very important to us all in many ways for help, comfort and advice, but I have never appreciated this thread and my virtual friends as much as I have this past few days. I thank each and every one of you, and a special thank you to Host Sharon with a wish that you are soon well and back with us. Avril xxxx
  13. Hope everything goes well for DH tomorrow morning Josy. Avril
  14. His doctor says they think he has a small 'leak' somewhere in his stomach area and he's to have a camera both up and down to see where it is, so not quite over the hump yet but fingers crossed. I'm still a little worried tonight, but no more transfusions and he's now on oral antibiotics. He's eating like a horse now, so onwards and upwards🤞 Avril
  15. Good evening. It's pouring with rain here. Franks doing well. His last day of antibiotics tomorrow, and he's allowed to walk about now. No mention of more transfusions 🤞 so the last one must have been from @Eglesbrech He's also lost over a stone in weight in 4 days, mostly fluid I would imagine. He sees the doctor tomorrow so we'll know more then, but everything feels to be on the up🤞 I hope you all had a lovely new year's day. Avril
  16. HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS I hope 2024 brings you and your families, good health and happiness. all the best for the coming year Avril and Frank xxx
  17. Frank's on 1500ml too. The nurse said tonight that he would be coming home a new man. Which will disappointing for for him as he'll be coming home to the same old woman. Happy new year Mr & Mrs kalos.x Avril
  18. Good evening all. A quick update for those who asked. No more transfusions today, so I hope that's the last and no more needed. Still on IV antibiotics and heart and BP normal. He's sleeping a lot and his appetite is improving. I will know more on Tuesday A special thank you to @Eglesbrech for your post, it was very reassuring . You told me more in one short post than anyone else since he was first admitted, and I did ask. Thank you again.x Almost the end of another year, and I wish all my virtual cc friends A Very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous 2024. We have all had our troubles this year in one way or another, and we have come together to support each other as any real family would. I am grateful to @Host Sharon for this continuing thread which has been an important lifeline for many since 2020. ✨✨✨ A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE🍾🥂
  19. I got back home at 8.15pm and enjoyed a nice bowl of soup and a decent coffee, soa quick update. Frank's just had a 3rd transfusion. They're struggling to get his heamaglobin levels up which is worrying me more than anything at the moment. His appetite has improved and he's on a low salt diet and fluid restriction. It's all really confusing. Tomorrow will hopefully be a little clearer. Avril
  20. Good morning and thankyou for your lovely posts. they are very calming. It helps to post, even if they're scrolled past. I don't want to burden the children with all my personal worries, they're worried enough and I don't want to add to them. I managed 5 hours of sleep last night,I was exhausted. Now I need to try to eat more than a quick snack now and then. I know I need to eat. but I honestly have no appetite. I'm back at hospital for 11am and have some more washing to get done so I'll go. Thank all again.x Avril
  21. Ive just got back from the hospital' Frank was admitted yesterday morning at 5.20am and it's been hectic. After tests he has Pneumonia, and severe anemia.which needed 2 tranfusions. To top it off he probably has a heart murmer too, he's having a heart xray to see what it is or could be. In his 78 years it's the first time he's been in hospital and everything's come at once. Almost 59 years married and the first time we've not not slept in the same bed, it's really strange and I'm not sleeping. Sorry for the late post, but I needed to chat. I'll try and read though the posts tomorrow. Avril
  22. The remainder of ours will be stored in our outdoor cupboard. Also know as 'The Wheelie Bin'😁 Avril
  23. Good morning everyone from a dull, and miserable corner of South Yorkshire. It's pouring down and very dark and windy here at a the moment, unfortunately it's forecast for the rest of the week too😒 I shall cheer myself up by sorting out the seeds and planning the gardenand greenhouse for spring. I think many of us, myself included, will be taking a leaf out of Josy's book and clearing out the remainder of Christmas and begining a more healthier diet. I spent some time yesterday revising a new menu and I'm currently waiting for my first 'healthy' Asda delivery this month😁 Have a good day everyone whatever the weather. Keep warm and dry.x Avril
