It's a miscommunication on time but the same reveal. RCCL PR sent an updated tweet to a user asking this very thing and they said that it would be 10:00 am est but 4:00 pm in Papenburg so the website time is correct but the tweet's time is wrong. I just shake my head in how much miscommunication there is within RCCL's PR team and Twitter team.
It's probably one person for each and they sit in the same room... Lol

Based on how badly they seemed to fumble the Royal Wow Phone rollout with Oasis 5 years ago I have to wonder if they roll out any kind of app will the network just crash.
The one thing that I think they could handle would be to add rfid to the direction boards around the ship so that you could walk up, touch your seapass, and be shown your reservations and information. That would be useful to all and really accommodating. If they simply roll out a smart phone app I could see a lot of people complaining about not having access, especially if they lock some abilities down to just that. The combination of the two could be cool. Customize your items you want to attend from the compass on your phone and then touch the board and instantly get directions to your next location.
Mix what you have listed and place your set sail pass on your smart phone using nfc technology to finish the boarding process

You think it has something to do with North Star? There have been quite a few pictures of the cage floating around lately and they have yet to put the arm on the ship?
I think they are going to reveal more of the more to come areas.

I'm glad they gave ripcord some color, and not just plain old white.

It's still streaming for me and in the same place and angle. Maybe they lost the connection at some point.
And just as I send this it went down for me. The shots I saw were live though because I last saw them in the dark last night and it was now daylight again. Didn't grab a picture but there was a lot of odd white smoke or steam around the seaplex. Not sure what they are doing now.
I did see the same thing yesterday, they might me welding. I hope they get the feed back up
-
I would much rather bring a keurig with dd kcups, but I would definitely do a Krispy Kreme donut shop.
-
When did they drain the dock? That means the megablocks are welded together.
It doesn't mean they are welded together, it just means that they are in the correct place to be welded.
I believe they would have to wait until the blocks dry before welding. it's definitely a good sign to things to come.

Anytime I have seen anything with a helicopter they fly over head, lower the equipment down, hoist everything back up
-
I am ALL for it ..... and they NEED one ..... even if just for coffee .... I couldn't care less for the nasty artificial DD donuts ... but the coffee Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines serves is TOTAL disgusting crap ... horrible, burnt, garbage, frightening, nasty, harsh, battery acid coffee.
Bring Dunkin Donuts in JUST for the coffee (and maybe their bagels too) ,,, cuz RC coffee SUCKS BAD!!!
JetBlue did and its working well for them!
I'm all for it, just to stomach royals coffee I have to load it with sugar. You can remove paint with that crap!
Bring dunkin in

Maybe there are actually 2 ships here...
Perhapps they didn't really join the blocks at the midway point and the purpose of the "partial float out" of Anthem blocks was to do a proof of concept.
What they're really doing is modular cruising now.
So what will happen is half of the Quantum will go to China and half will go to New Jersey
They have to do virtual concerts, since the higher paying customers will be on the cruise with the actual talent.
The rest of us are on the other piece of the ship and get to take a quantum leap forward and watch the 'Virtual Concert'.
Next up, we'll all be cruising in lifeboats:D
Are you trying to say we will be in section that would be considered the tornado magnet ( or hurricane since it will be in the ocean). That will be our entertainment, how fast can you row?
-
Shhh things are very secretive, they are going to wait for the first revenue sailing to reveal the rest of the ship
-
There is an oasis class being moved to port canaveral, and also the port will be used when quantum comes down to visit

Steel cutting for both Quantum and Anthem started around 21 months before maiden voyage. With a "mid-2016" date for Quantum 3, that would say to me steel cutting should begin in the next few months. After all, we are 22.5 months away from July 1, 2016 (just picking the mid-point of 2016. I know the date of the maiden voyage may be a couple months off from that)
I see where you are coming from, it's going to be tight. Sit back and watch and see if the yard can pull this off
-
Steel cutting for Quantum 3 should commence in the next few months. I'll await the thread for that one, as it might be the first one we see home ported down here in Florida.
And if only there were an Oasis 3 forum or even thread. That one is moving along nicely and they're putting blocks together.
I don't think we will see the steel cutting for the 3rd quantum until sometime early next year since they have to build the two ncl ships. You could always create the quantum topic and post what you have found.

I love getting lost on the ship, it's even better drunk! I think one time I forgot I was on the ship and I went on a hunt for my keys, that made for an interesting night

I say we get a group cruise together, if we get 15 cabins booked all together Lloyd can get the free cabin. Some how arrange the behind the scenes tour.

The North Star will only hold 13 or 14 people at one time. It kind of looks like one of the capsules from the London Eye, but somewhat smaller.
I think the angle of the picture doesn't do it any justice. It looks small no matter what device I use

Others have offered him free drinks too. Someone else posted and said Royal should give him a free cruise for all the updates he's been giving us along the way, I agree :)
Lloyd, I am giving you a WOW card! Take care of those goldfish.
I agree royal should hook him up big time, I'm thinking a loft suite, the alcohol package, and airfare !!

I checked out the bottom name on the covering over the North Star. Turns out its Gangloff Cabins from Switzerland.
I found a pdf document that mentions...
The 4 ton North Star cabin/gondola, held together by a framework of tubes, was built by Gangloff Cabins in Switzerland. Upon completion it travels to Poland, where the cabin is coupled to the 40 meter articulated arm. After that cabin and arm are transported by special convoy to the Meyer Werft shipyard.
Nice find, looking at the pictures it doesn't look very big, it looks like the only people to fit in there are crib midgets !

Someone feed my goldfish for me please. Looks like I may be busy for a while ...

I can offer to buy you a few drinks, if we ever meet up on a cruise !! Lol

Not sure if you mean embark the lifeboats or embark QUANTUM for a cruise?
For the lifeboats, these are designed to be embarked from Deck 5, the same deck they are sitting on. Some designs have the boats loaded in the stationary position, and others the davits are designed to hoist the boats outward but not lower them and they are loaded from that position. In theory, once each boat is ready to be loaded the passengers will be brought from their muster station (usually a lounge) to the loading area on Deck 5. Once loaded, the boat is lowered to the sea. This is considered to be much safer and faster than the other method, which is to have the boats lowered one deck first before they can be loaded with passengers. The trade off is a loss of a true open Promenade Deck which QUANTUM and designs like her do not offer.
For passenger embarkation for a cruise, passengers will embark midship on Deck 5 in the hump section where there are no lifeboats.
Thank you ! I hope to never have to load into a life boat !! I was thinking more the day your getting on board.
