  1. I agree Salisbury is beautiful the cathedral is even more stunning and famous.
  2. Yes when you think about it today she hasn’t really been moving that fast. I hope lots of people don’t kick off and make a scene. I would have rather done Cadiz and ditched Barcelona. Not having a good track record at the moment last 2 cruises missed port or completely changed itinerary 😀🚢
  3. There is not an obviously large number of children onboard. Aft pool not over run at all.
  4. I am onboard too. Easiest embarkation ever I was onboard by 12 30 . Lovely balcony cabin on deck 4. Has an extended balcony so half shaded and half open. Probably twice the depth of a standard one. Had very tasty gammon egg and chips in Golden Lion. My go to curry is now a special and will reappear in about 3 days I was told by the waitress. Service was slick and the chips were too hot to eat at first. Plenty of wait staff around pool. Only minor set back I was initially allocated a sharing table but swiftly had it swopped. Apparently there are not many 2 tops completely separate on deck 2 but he told me he would try and find me one. Alternatively the Maitre D’ from level 3 said he would be able to find me one. Managed to book Noir for tomorrow did have trouble loading app had to do it several times but I suspect the problem is that is still loaded from previous trips. So far really pleasant interactions with all crew that I have across and had seen no signs of any sullen or tardy attitudes. Sad to hear some guests are being poorly behaved within the first few hours and being rude to crew. Have not sorted WiFi yet but will buy package tomorrow.
  5. I have never seen the buffet open 24 hours whenever I have been onboard any of the 3 Queens last time as recently as May.
  6. Yes she is going to do that as her partner only has a 3 week wait for the type of visa he needs so they will do that unless they can get a family appointment at the same time as his.
  7. Hi where did you see the wait time as 5 weeks for London and less for Belfast. The website is saying 110 days wait for available appointments for both London and Belfast. My daughter needs a visa and was hoping not to have to pay extra to expedite.
  8. Thank you I am looking forward to getting onboard tomorrow and hoping for good weather. Looks promising for Southampton tomorrow and certainly lovely and sunny here a few miles away inland.
  9. Re loyalty scheme it’s not transferable so you would start from scratch and not receive any status match for your P &O loyalty status if any. Other main points to note gratuities are not included in the fare, currently 16 / 18 dollars per person per day depending on cabin grade. and there is a 15% gratuity added to drinks purchased around the ship not part of a drinks package.
  10. Also in port on 4th is P & O Arvia and Norwegian Prima. Still should have no problem with a taxi. I haven’t been to Winchester for years but it is a lovely city. It is only a short ride to the railway station and should cost you less than £10. In June I had to pay a surcharge as it was a Sunday so don’t be surprised if what the price the meter says is increased. Most taxis will take contactless cards too.
  11. In my experience wait listing is not helpful. Your best bet is to keep checking the website several times a day and then book online straight away. You can also ask to go on the waitlist as well but past experience tells me it’s better to check for yourself. Check first thing then several times during the day.
  12. Brilliant so excited for you. Well done .I am so glad you kept checking and sorted it for yourself. I don’t have much faith in the wait list system and as you proved constant checking can pay dividends. Good job too you didn’t go for the club upgrade, now you can all eat together. Have a fabulous cruise all of you.
  13. I have never had a problem getting a taxi when disembarking. I always need one to take me to where my car is parked. There are so many circulating about. When are you going and I can then tell you what else my be going on.
  14. You should be entitled to have the drinks package but the port fees and taxes in U K pricing are just subsumed into the cruise price and included. They are not refundable as separate items. We have no knowledge of their value.
  15. She was and I watched her sail away from Southampton.
  16. If it’s like the ballet workshops you did have to register to attend and there was limited capacity. Performances and rehearsals were on a first come first served basis. The ballet were only on one part of the TA so everyone had equal chance to book. I would image each segment would have separate bookings to give everyone a chance.
  17. I decided in the end with the weather as it is in the world at the moment to just wait and see when it comes. I have crossed BOB in October and December and it has been gone fine and in March and April not so. I wouldn’t have said either my T A on QM last summer was that brilliant. I may think differently if it’s rough but I going to be optimistic.
  18. I have booked that too. I am a bit more inland than you - New Forest but thought it sounded a good opportunity for a short break. My daughter lives by the sea in Devon so I am hoping we will go that far.
  19. I have bitten the bullet and booked this today. Seems like an interesting itinerary.
  20. I wouldn’t because unless your parents are also in club you won’t be able to eat together. The restaurant is the only perk for club so it would be a waste of money. I personally don’t think the premium they charge is worth it. I could have another cruise for that amount. Others may tell you otherwise. The cabins depending on ship may have a glass shower door instead of a curtain and a coffee machine other than that they are the same.
  21. Definitely keep checking minimum twice a day . First thing in the morning in case system updates over night for your first check. Good luck.
