  1. Flatbush, if you get a chance email me. Johthomas100z@gmail.com
  2. Have done around 60 cruises all over the world. Had only one port cancelled on RCL, Nassau, due to extreme weather. Can only base my comments on my extensive cruise experience. Can't just be luck. Yes in the past, missed ports for whatever reason were in the news. Maybe you just didn't see it. That doesn't mean it didn't happen.
  3. Ok guess they all do it post covid, but why? Pre covid when cruise lines were in the "green", it rarely happened, when it did, it was in the news.
  4. And yes Vancouver and Victoria as well as prince Rupert, all Canadian.
  5. Yup I agree. Next is Nov, 20 day TA BCN to MIA. With 6 more following into Dec of 2025. In 2025, pretty much staying on the continent, can't handle the long flights anymore.
  6. Hope to meet up with you again. Didn't get to spend much time with you.
  7. Yes I'm sorry too. You very busy. We had a wonderful time, a great cruise. As for what I have, I met "Flatbush flier" and was surprised to find out that we deal with the same agency. The most savy, knowledgeable cruiser I have met thus far. Very impressive and he gets ALL there is to get.
  8. You may be paying a hefty price for those results, as some of them do not give you rebates. Middle of the road is best. A reputable agency, well connected with O and a seasoned agent.
  9. Got a quick response from my O contact. He said O keeps this information "internally" and therefore he cannot send it. He also said, this 250 SBC policy has been around for a long time for those silver and up. They keep it internally so they can grant it at will and not write it in stone. Translation, just another shady practice. I say that because not long ago I was fighting an issue that also wasn't written in stone and of course I lost. We had been told by the Ambassador on the ship, that the 30 day rule also applied post sailing and we counted on it. Got home and tried to use it, only to be asked, where is that in writing. Of course it was nowhere to be found, making me look like I had made it up. Later I was told a policy like that did exist for a short time, but no longer. Many things like this are kept internally so O can giveth and O can taketh away and say, what where did you see that?
  10. I know from our talk that we use the same agency, so I am assuming we are good. In March, we become silver, at that point this may become an issue.
  11. Awful how haphazard Os policies are, when you have to depend on luck, when you can't find anything current in writing, directly from O. I will contact my O rep to see if he can dig up anything about this that is clearer than mud.
  12. What if the agent asks the ocapp for SBC instead of prep grat and get the prep grat from loyalty? Yeah, I know the answer.
  13. Thank you for this. Looking forward to meeting you.
  14. So then we are still in limbo?
  15. The doc we got yesterday, is one month from sailing. It says Barcelona not Tarragona. We will go with that. Hotel booked for two nights.
  16. Did it say Tarragona on the docs O Sent you?
  17. So far we think it will be Barcelona not Tarragona but not sure of dock.
  18. We embark Nov 13, still don't know where. The paper work that came today only says Barcelona. Hope to have O tell us soon.
  19. These changes don't make sense to me, but plenty of others are saying changes/cancelations are NOT happening. Thank you for posting that they ARE.
  20. Thank you for the above post.
  21. Most of our cruising has been done pre covid, with 2 on O. In all that time, with all those cruises, we have rarely had port times changed and only once a port was cancelled, Nassau, due to a storm. If a port was cancelled, it became big news, engine trouble etc. It is NOT news any longer, but more of an expectation. So what is driving all these changes, on ALL lines? Only someone on the inside, like a captain, a top exec etc would trully know. The rest of us can only speculate. Of course many of us suspect it has a financial aspect, dont most things? Just follow the money...but we debate how and why.
  22. I did not mean this to be funny, or that someone should not cruise. To most it is clear the disappointment many feel when a cruise line appears to be making significant changes to published itineraries. It may seem like bait and switch, definitely switch. I add this for for those to whom it is not clear.
