"Elephant Island, which the ship is visiting for scenic cruising, is a geographic part of Antarctica administered by the Antarctic Treaty. While it is not the continent’s mainland, it very much is part of Antarctica."

Of these I would suggest the Encore or the Joy. Both have the forward observation lounge that is really nice to have on this class of ship.
Joy also has the Spice H2O which is a great space for warm weather cruises.
Yeah, I keep seeing all these reports of "NCL skips Antarctica on Antarctica Cruise" which really isn't correct since they're still going there, just a different region. Still annoying but not as TERRIBLE as it's being made out.
From Cruise Hive "Furthermore, Elephant Island, which the ship is visiting for scenic cruising, is a geographic part of Antarctica administered by the Antarctic Treaty. While it is not the continent’s mainland, it very much is part of Antarctica."
So the articles and reports online reporting that "NCL drops Antarctica from the itinerary" isn't correct?
Seems that way to me. I'd be upset like the rest of them had they switched at the last minute, but they're still technical going to Antarctica.
Technically it's still going to Antarctica (from what I've read). It's now going to Elephant Island, which is not the area they were originally supposed to visit, but it is 100% part of Antarctica.
Anyone heard what is being completed/renovated during the first dry dock? We just booked a Jan 2025 sailing. Just wondering what will have been updated on that sailing (first time sailing with Windstar).
What would the reason be for wanting the side with the slides? I assume most people would want to avoid the side with the slide so their balcony does have the slide going through? People lost their sh*t over those slides cutting into the balconies on the Prima/Viva lol.
Saw some news reports saying it should hit some cold water as it heads north this week, and will "likely just be a remnant of a storm by the time it makes it's way to Canada" and even a chance it could head back out to sea without making it to Canada.
Thought the same thing, seems very sus. Kinda hated this review for that reason. Seems like they're just trying to "go with the popular opinion" rather than form their own.
