  1. Please.......what was the good and what was the bad as compared with Celebrity? I'm considering an A1 extended balcony cabin on Marina or Vista.
  2. Any lawyer I know would not take the case but sending a 'letter' to Celebrity might bring a little satisfaction....at quite a reduced cost.
  3. This is starting to become a "who's on first" issue. I think the OP has all the answers needed from us and definitely has Celebrity's requirement. Get the letter....there may be questions or not; a surprise is nice, but having peace of mind is better.
  4. It's a shame you're diverted elsewhere. The ships were designed for 'x' number of cruisers and the dining "room" should have allowed proper space accordingly. When the ships are full, as they are now, everyone is jammed into a space which doesn't allow any semblance of privacy. If you're in a family/friend group, fine, but 2 diners wishing to dine 'alone' feel part of a 'stranger' group. Even going to Specialty restaurants isn't the answer. They're full as well with usually no reservations available during prime hours; although the Tuscan does allow good space between tables. IMO the Oceanview is not an alternative. Not sure there is an answer, just have to accept the situation?
  5. So long ago I sailed M class. Can't remember their storage. No overhead but more cabinets?
  6. Good morning....read your review and agree with most of it. You mentioned it's been a few years since your last X cruise, but the first comment re 'storage' confused me. All S class have had these overhead bins since inception. You didn't remember that from your prior cruise on this class? or was it another ship you're comparing this to. There are drawers which I find enough for our needs along with the overhead. I'm not tall but can reach these, however I do use packing cubes and it's easier to access these than individual folded items. Sorry you had a bad experience...we also felt that after our last cruise. Something is indeed 'off'.
  7. Do a search on 'move up' and you'll find many comments to help you.
  8. Off the Silhouette last month, concierge cabin. yes, footstools and reclining chairs mostly fully. Would be the same as the Infinity. Celebrity does not have same chairs on E class, they're small and not made for sitting long or relaxing .
  9. OMG...what was the purpose of the long table? Did they think that was accommodating anyone wanting a table for two? Which restaurant was that? Thanks for the other info, we usually dine around 6pm so that will probably work out.
  10. I think you said you were in 9312? Did you like the cabin and balcony space and did they provide a lounger?
  11. Thanks for starting your review on the Apex. Nice to know what's ahead. However guess you didn't notice you were telling us "A little over a week ago, I pointed you to my Royal Liver". Was that an over enjoyment during your Royal cruise imbibing? LOL!
  12. Are the 2 tops on E class as close together as S class? If anything had a negative effect on our dining, aside from the lack of menu choice, it was the closeness of the tables for 2 on Silhouette. We were placed 2 on the rail, but table beside us was for 6. They had a wonderful party between them with no recognition we were inches away and our conversation was drowned out. Full cruise and no other table available as select dining seems to have a policy that on the first night they assign a table and that's yours for the duration - for tip purposes I guess - unless you arrive at a different time. In any event it was a spoil for us. I also noticed other two tops were placed in a row so you actually almost had a table for 6 or 8. I'm hoping the Apex, with 4 dining rooms, the tables for 2 will be placed with more space between?
  13. Can you share how MSC differs from Celebrity in business practices?
  14. It's interesting how many posters say "never again will I cruise with Celebrity" then a few months later they're posting often on this board about the cruises they took and will take.
  15. I have seen these on S class in the past. I was asking about the E class shows' names?
  16. Any recollection of the names of the shows? That would give me a comparison to the S class (yes, Silhouette, Equinox, etc; E class - Edge, Beyond, Apex etc). You'd think they'd update but maybe their thinking is more younger cruisers are now onboard and not up on the 'vintage' of these shows and they're new to them. So the Apex and Beyond have different production shows? Looking forward to something different on my next X cruise.
  17. Did you have AI before they removed the grats? If so, you pay the difference between original cabin and sky suite at the time of bid acceptance. It'll show on your Visa in the total. If your AI was after the change and it didn't include grats (and you didn't prepay), you will have a daily grat charge applied to your onboard account.
  18. From what the CD told us, the shows are not changing for some time. Very expensive to put on. We've been seeing the same ones for about 10 years. Some posters have said the E class has updated shows so perhaps they'll move some over to S class.
  19. Yes...can't remove/replace the blonde desk, overhead cabinets, etc, but carpet, drapes, bedclothes all replaced. Bathroom the same. Still have the lounge chairs and footstools on the balcony not the idiotic little muffin chairs and tables on the E class. FYI...chairs, carpets replaced in dining and all other public areas SEEM to be replaced (didn't visit all areas on the ship).
  20. Just left her in Nov. Same LIFE show but updated choreography/costumes. No other production number in 10 days. Now that there are shorter 3/4/5 day cruises, I imagine they still will only have 1 production plus other acts. We had a comedian, magician, trio singers, solo singers. All good. As for refurbishment...updated info on X site under Ships/Silhouette.
  21. That could be the reason. I always book refundable so cancellation, if necessary, is available. But SVs to not be booked on E class is 'different' from every other cruise we've booked (E+), especially E class with an actual verandah.
  22. I'm questioning the Apex January '25 pricing....lower than other E class Jan. cruises and many SV cabins are available - unusual for the SV; they're generally taken as soon as the cruise opens. I'm wondering if someone knows something I don't.........as in.....will this cruise be cancelled? My last E class booking had the same situation and it was cancelled (days reduced, ports changed). Any TA's with an opinion?
  23. Just wondering.... would there be complaints if X ADDED to the cruise experience instead of taking away just after final payment? This is business today I suppose and nothing is static. BTW...there are the same type of 'complaints' on other boards so 'go somewhere else for your cruise or even land holiday' isn't really a satisfactory option.
  24. Maybe wait until you cruise. Negative comments are others findings...yours may be different. I think HQ will respond better to the incidents which you've actually experienced.
