  1. We have a Jeep reserved through Top Drive. Great price for the day at $160 including insurance. We have it the entire day. Since we leave at 10PM, we will get a good 10+ hours with it.
  2. From my research, the best snorkeling is Mangel Halto, Tres Trapi,
  3. 100% dependent on what you want to spend.
  4. Everyone has the option to manage their own luggage. Handing it over YOU accept the risks. It is the port authority that is responsible for the luggage. You are left to their requirements to receive an unclaimed bag and their requirements. Carnival is the passthrough.
  5. Places to stay range from about $100 - $4000 per night. A budget is a significant piece of information needed.
  6. Someone from my area flew Avelo on Friday. Instead of going to FLL, they routed to PBI. Avelo managed all travel arrangements to Fort Lauderdale and Miami for them. They didn't specify, but it sounded like a bus to a common location where they could get the exact transportation they needed.
  7. Publix is in Downtown Miami near the Hilton. There is a CVS as well
  8. We are renting a Jeep. Our plans are to snorkel Tres Trapi first, then to Arashi Beach. Depending on time and recommendation, we may head to the secret pool by the gold mill then down to Baby Beach and San Marco for the murals.
  9. Even if you have a rental car reserved from Orlando, don't assume you will get it for a 1-way rental. Still shortages and with what everyone is trying to do, the cars would be in South FL. They may allow 1-week round-trip rentals, but don't expect 1-way. Hope everything works out. This is why everyone has a driving option in plan.
  10. Boarding starts around 10:30-10:45 for P/D/S. FTTF right after that followed by Boarding Group numbers. This assumes no delays getting passengers off and the ship arriving in port on time.
  11. On Mardi Gras and Celebration it is a free option. There are items that have an extra cost like the Prime Rib, but the others are all included. The P&A place that is like a walk up counter on the outside deck is included on other ships, but only open on Sea Days.
  12. Losing a pet is very heartbreaking. But life does has to move on.
  13. That is neat for an open can. I am talking about opening and completely resealing with no leaks. In other words, people putting something else in the cans and avoid paying for Cheers. Each 12 pack is 2.5 big bottles of liquor.
  14. If only they made a device to re-can drinks. Makes for a lot of savings on Cheers.
  15. We are a bit different. We don't spend too much money other than our excursions. Our next cruise is 3 port days. The total for excursions/car rentals is $500. We don't spend much on other things other than dining an small souvenirs. Maybe $1,000 for the excursions ($500 of that is for dining, drinks, excursions). $500 or so to gamble.
  16. If not looking for a Limo or shuttle service, Amtrak is another option. Brightline won't be operating by then.
  17. For 3 hours, I am guessing you are in port for 8 hours. You can walk around the port area neighborhoods and see the sites. Just ask a local at a shop for a good restaurant.
  18. And just the same number if not vastly more, they debark earlier. You'd be kicking yourself more spending that extra $1,000 more for the flights while you see the 11AM flight take off 90 minutes after you make it to the airport. Sitting there wondering how you let $1,000 go like that. The downside for missing the flight is you have to do standby. You deal with it and live with it. For $1,000, I can do a lot of dealing with it.
  19. Hey, just offering options. Obviously, if momma lives in PB, they can fly to PBI, rent a car, and drive to Port Canaveral all together.
  20. Its maybe about 2-2.5 hours drive. I know she doesn't drive, but maybe find someone that does and would be willing to drive her there. Otherwise a flight from PBI to MCO is an option. There may even be a bus service. Greyhound has a bus from West Palm Beach to Orlando for about $35. Based on the timing it shows, it is a direct route.
  21. We are stuck with a similar situation. Ours is based on money and need. I was hoping to be able to cancel FTTF, but with the 11AM flight we are keeping it. There are so many people here that will say "never", "you'll be sorry", "why vacation with so much stress". When you speak to the people that did it and how simple it is, it is refreshing knowing you are going to make the 11AM flight out of FLL. Everything hinges on the ship arriving to port on schedule. If that doesn't happen, many of the 1PM people may miss their flights too. This is what we have done to be prepared: Self Debark with FTTF Uber/Lyft TSA Precheck Boarding passes ready on your phone Assuming no marathons, road closures, asteroids taking out the highways, etc, 11AM is very doable and not much stress. Just be mentally prepared in case something happens and you have to deal with Standby.
  22. I'm in an Interior in 2 months. Since I don't vacation to stay in a cell, it was fine with me. We had 2 years of that already. We chose Deck 9 because it was close to everything. Probably the same thinking as Deck 5, but just go down to 6,7,8.
  23. Watched the part where they got there at 9:10. Not outrageous if you have a 9:30 Arrival Time. Based on where they were at in the Terminal and have the Priority Boarding card, they were either Suites, Diamond, or Platinum.
  24. My experience was completely the opposite. Contacted my TA, told them I had gift cards to pay for the cruise. They can only process on GC at a time, but that is easy. I gave her the number, she processed it in the system, Amount Due went down by $500. Did this 5x in a row. Cruise was paid off and drink package. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I do get your frustration on the refunds. Carnival cannot and will not refund to the gc used to pay. They will mail a new gc to you.
