  1. Yes, I contacted where I rented. Top Drive responded that it would be dropoff in the lockbox regardless. We are there 8am-10PM. The absolute latest we would drop it off would be 8PM and most likely 7PM. Don't want to take chances getting back to the port area.
  2. Best thing to do is either pay the high rates for an Uber or take Uber to TriRail. TriRail to WPB, then Uber to PBI. It is all going to take time and money. It just depends on whether the $ difference is worth not just taking Uber directly.
  3. Since the Finals are near or over the weekends, wanted to see what the impacts may be when there right before the cruise.
  4. Do self assist off the ship and hop the first cab you see. I have an 11AM out of FLL. Talked with many off the cruise this past weekend. Everyone that did self assist and went to FLL were there by 8:30AM. Now, this doesn't take into account delays getting into port or anything else. In those cases, a lot of people are going to have issues anyway.
  5. Check on 1-way rentals. Some rental companies have dropoff in PC. Might be a better option and give you time.
  6. What's reasonable to you is not to someone else. What price range? There are literally about 1000 hotels between Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
  7. A big part of it is the islands are so close. Watching pics and vids from people on it now, there is lots to do right at port in the evening. Lots of them at Lucy's doing scorpion shots.
  8. This week is the first Southern itinerary for the Celebration. Hoping someone on the cruise posts the Fun Times.
  9. A 9:40 arrival, I would stay at the cheapest and safest place near FLL. We booked Rodeway Inn based on price, proximity to FLL. You can stay near FLL if you want or head to Miami for Saturday. It really comes down to what you want to be around and spend. Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale is probably better than Miami. We have an early departure out of FLL as well. We will do self assist, passport, Uber, and TSA Precheck. Many, many people make it to the airport well in time for flights before noon. You just have to be open that there is a chance you could miss it. Several a few weeks ago had an 11:30 flight out of FLL, had it changed to the 1:30PM flight, they were at the airport at 9AM watching their original flight go out waiting an extra 2 hours.
  10. It is 4 hours. So a 4PM flight you can check luggage at noon.
  11. I always recommend getting TSA Precheck. It is worth the money regardless. You will be fine. I have an 11AM flight out of FLL from PoM. Many people make it there with plenty of time. You need to do self-assist, be near the front, have passport for easy Customs, and be on your way.
  12. If you need to be one of the first ones, then taxi. The bus station is just up the road as a guy showed in a video. Very easy and no real issue.
  13. MCO can be long any day of the week at any time of the day. My daughter was there at 5AM with a group. She went through TSA Precheck. 90 minutes later others from the group got through TSA.
  14. Based on this year, I would not take a chance.
  15. Whatever you book, make sure you have free cancelation this far out.
  16. Getting in at 6:30PM gets you to a hotel about 7:15-7:30. It really depends on what you want. There are tons of options. It also depends on the dates you are going. If not meeting up with a group and it is just your family, I would consider the Doral area. You may pay a little more for Uber the next morning. I looked for Feb 9 for 1 night, 2 adults. It was $175 for the Staybridge Suites Doral. Miller's Ale House is right next door. Great food and atmosphere, wallet friendly and convenient. You are also SO far out from your trip that many deals are not available yet. When you get near October, you will see different deals every day. Check until you find something that works. I use Hotwire and Priceline often.
  17. From what I hear it is a dump and the breakfast many times is not included. So be sure before you go to it. They also don't honor their price online. Booked there, paid on their website, week before going they sent an email canceling the reservation because of a pricing issue.
  18. The Heat making the Finals will only really affect hotel prices. They will start to skyrocket.
  19. I don't think it is even permitted to walk in.
  20. There are a few factors on that decision. The first being what time to you arrive to FLL. If it is later in the evening, just get a cheap hotel near FLL. Saves time, gets you to bed earlier, and easy to get to Port of Miami in the morning. If you arrive earlier, that decision is entirely on what you want to do.
  21. You were an hour late. In April, the cruise was on daylight savings time and Bonaire is on Atlantic time. You showed up at 8:45am ship time which was 9:45am local time. The filled spaces available from people at the resort because you were technically a no-show to them. Since most ships don't port there until 8AM ship time, I think you got caught up in the time change.
  22. There are very specific rules for it and it is spelled out in the contract. Getting the lower fare has to be with the same VIFP offer that it was booked under. Since it is not the same offer code, it was not granted. What could be tried is cancel and rebook under the new offer code. This is a where a TA comes in handy. Booking through Carnival or a PVP is more difficult in this situation.
  23. Login and check the price for the general population. If you book on a discount, the fare match is for the same discount. There are so many things that have to be done to get them to match, it is not worth it at the end of the day for what, $66? I know the principle behind it, but the headaches aren't worth it.
