  1. I recently switched from MTD to early dining on my next cruise because of all the recent horror stories about MTD.
  2. Nope, I never automatically get an invoice. That would be ideal...just like NCL and Carnival!

  4. But I've been using it all along up until about a month ago, by calling directly at 888-307-8413. Just another reason why Royal has the worst user experience of all the cruise lines I've booked with.
  5. I used to call Royal's automated assistant to get cruise confirmations, but lately when I try, I'm asked for my agency number. When I say "I don't have one" I'm routed to a live agent who first has to try to upsell. I always thought it was strange that Royal doesn't send a confirmation after booking anyway. Anyone have any better luck with the automated assistant?
  6. I prefer to put cash in an envelope and mail it to Carnival's corporate office in Miami.
  7. I've been trying to pay for something in my cart for a few days and still no luck. Is anyone else still having website issues?
  8. I've been trying to pay for a shore excursion all day. The message I get over and over says: "Hmm, make sure the card information is correct or try using a different card." I'll stop trying different credit cards now.
  9. Testing positive and "getting sick" are now two different things. Covid-22 is not Covid-19. If everyone is vaxxed, then who really cares?
  10. I called this morning to cancel one of my reservations, something I've done countless times over the last several months. Except, this time the "process" took the agent 51 minutes to complete! Then she told me that there was a penalty...nope...then she said it would be issued as a credit...nope again...finally the light went on and I was told I'm getting a refund. I can do this whole process with one or two clicks on Carnival or Celebrity!. 🤬

  14. Don't sweat it. I just booked an oceanview 7-night from Seattle for my wife and I and paid less than $700. They'll make money when we're onboard!
  15. The excursion I booked was actually listed under "Seattle".
  16. I was just there last month on Breakaway. They used Carnival's pier at Amber Cove. Could it be related to the cost/availability from Carnival?
  17. Actually, neither happened. I tried to delete them, but there was no option for cancelling. I called Royal to have the MTD reservations deleted and was on the phone for an hour! I was told there was a major error, and IT needed to fix it. I got a ticket number; they said it may take 2 weeks to resolve. Jeesh!
  18. Good morning all. I had My Time Dining when I booked my cruise and chose specific times each night. All those times appear in My Calendar in my reservation. This morning I called and switched to early dining at 6:00 p.m. All my reservations under MTD still appear in My Calendar, and nothing shows for 6:00 p.m. I've never tried fixed time dining...is it normal for them not to show up in My Calendar? Thanks.
  19. I just booked a crazy low fare to Alaska on the Splendor in an inside cabin. Day 3 on the cruise is scenic cruising past Tracy Arm Fjord. Since I won't have a balcony, is there ample viewing area from exterior areas on decks 3 or 4? Thanks!
