You do realize this is a Super Bowl cruise.
Yup. We did that this year.

Good morning all. We're a couple of age 60+ retirees, and have only been on one Carnival cruise (so far); to the Caribbean the 2nd week of February. I was a little nervous because everyone told me that it would be a crazy party vibe. It was fine, no more of a party vibe than NCL or Royal. Carnival had the friendliest passengers I've ever met.
Now I'm thinking of booking a Mexican Riviera cruise, also the second week of February for next year. So, my question is, how crazy an atmosphere should I expect this trip to be?
Thanks.

I've sailed on NCL twice and Carnival once and I have more cruises planned on both. NCL food, entertainment and ship condition were better. Open bar is nice. My fellow passengers on Carnival were the friendliest by far. On one of my NCL cruises, people were downright anti-social, and on the other they were slightly better.
Don't sweat it; you won't regret sailing on NCL.

They need to give up on MTD, that is what is not working. Early or late TD is a breeze.
I liked the way Carnival handles it. One dining room for fixed dining times and another for MTD.

We've done 4 post-restart cruises and have not had an "problems".
Which ships were you on?

I recently switched from MTD to early dining on my next cruise because of all the recent horror stories about MTD.

Are you looking for an invoice for a booked cruise. If so, you should have received invoice/ confirmation automatically. Many times, I get more than 1. Call Customer Service. By the way I've called CS and other departments many times over and never got a sales pitch.
Ps. If you know your booking number you can get information on Royal's website.
Nope, I never automatically get an invoice. That would be ideal...just like NCL and Carnival!

That is a different number than the one that has been published previously:
RCL Automated Invoice #:
866-562-7625, press #4.
That one is broken too. "For security purposes please say or enter your Agency number." 🤬
Thanks anyway.

Has not worked in almost a year now.
But I've been using it all along up until about a month ago, by calling directly at 888-307-8413.
Just another reason why Royal has the worst user experience of all the cruise lines I've booked with.
-
I used to call Royal's automated assistant to get cruise confirmations, but lately when I try, I'm asked for my agency number. When I say "I don't have one" I'm routed to a live agent who first has to try to upsell. I always thought it was strange that Royal doesn't send a confirmation after booking anyway.
Anyone have any better luck with the automated assistant?

I prefer to put cash in an envelope and mail it to Carnival's corporate office in Miami.

I've been trying to pay for something in my cart for a few days and still no luck. Is anyone else still having website issues?
-
I've been trying to pay for a shore excursion all day. The message I get over and over says: "Hmm, make sure the card information is correct or try using a different card."
I'll stop trying different credit cards now.

Someday, testing will end- but that will be when the number of people getting sick would end up less than the number of people getting sick with testing.
Testing positive and "getting sick" are now two different things. Covid-22 is not Covid-19. If everyone is vaxxed, then who really cares?

I sail Celebrity a good bit, I was not aware of an online cancellation that customers could initiate…not that I ever want to cancel.
Yep, it's there. Unfortunately, I've done a few of those.
-
I called this morning to cancel one of my reservations, something I've done countless times over the last several months. Except, this time the "process" took the agent 51 minutes to complete! Then she told me that there was a penalty...nope...then she said it would be issued as a credit...nope again...finally the light went on and I was told I'm getting a refund. I can do this whole process with one or two clicks on Carnival or Celebrity!. 🤬

That's a big price hike, but I would still pay it. 😎

At 3 am I heard one of them go on their balcony apparently to smoke some weed
Balconies should have smoke detectors.

Just taking a wild guess here but I don't think they realize they are inconsiderate. I think they're just morons with limited social skills.
Or both.

I also just don't understand the people who loudly yell their goodbyes/goodnights to friends down the cabin hallways at 2:30 am as they return to their cabins.
Booze.

Don't sweat it. I just booked an oceanview 7-night from Seattle for my wife and I and paid less than $700. They'll make money when we're onboard!

I have been curious about this, we are cruising next May from San Francisco to Alaska on the Miracle and there are no excursions listed for Tracy Arm or Icy Strait Point. I keep wondering if excursions will be offered later? Can you explain how the excursions work for Tracy Arm and at what point can I book them? Thank you!
The excursion I booked was actually listed under "Seattle".

You may not be aware but there are smaller boats that go farther up to the glaciers. They are excursions that are booked from your starting port, such as Seattle. (Not Tracy Arm) Just an FYI….
Thanks for the info. I just booked it!
