  1. CruiseQueen2, actually I was able (long story short, we were eating in one of the main restaurants (not the MDR), and I noticed 3 of the Captains people were eating at the table next to ours, the next thing I knew someone had said "There's the Captain", and I turned around and there Staff Captain Richard Dalton coming up next to me, and I ask him if he would mind taking a picture with me.) to take a picture with Captain Dalton, and when Captain Gavin Pears seen that I was taking a picture with him, he "insisted" that I take a picture with him also. πŸ™‚ Then the next thing we know, all 8 of us are gathering around the 5 of them at their table to get our picture, and it was great. Great experience that I never expected, or would have never dreamed in a million years.
  2. Startedwithamouse, thank you for your help, but unfortuantely under Regal, it was not Captain Gavin Pears, which I just found out.
  3. Rick & Jennie, I found out the Captain's name is Gavin Pears who was on the Regal Princess February 25th cruise. I did look at the pictures posted here, but none of those people look familiar to me.
  4. It looks like January, 2021 is the LAST time someone posted on this posting of the "Captains" names of the Princess ships. Does anyone know where I can find a list of the Regal Princess Captain's name, as well as the staff that are right below him? The reason I ask, I was able to take a picture with a couple of them.
  5. I am trying to find a list of the MAIN staff on the Regal Princess, as I wound up taking pictures with a couple of them. I was able to find the Captain's name was Ed Perrin, but I would also like to know the names of some of them that are "next" in line or command to him, "if??" there is a list?
  6. Dog, that is interesting. I gather??? if a person was staying at another hotel, they would have to be AARP members?
  7. TheMichael, that is interesting in regard to Lyft. We might check into that.
  8. If you have stayed at the Clarion Pointe Galveston Seawall, and used transportation to the ship from there, what was the name of the transportation? I know we can get Lyft or Uber, but just curious if there was another one cheaper, or around the same price?
  9. I'll be honest, I have no clue who my d-i-l got for transportation from the airport to the hotel, and to pick us up from the ship and take us to the airport.
  10. Checking on this too. The only difference, we HAVE transportation to the hotel. We just need transportation from the hotel to the ship.
  11. Just a heads up. I already went to the Galveston,TX area to ask this question, but thought perhaps someone might see it here as well. We have transportation picking us up at Hobby Airport, taking us to the hotel, and picking us up from the ship and taking us back to the airport. My question, it seems that NONE of the Galveston area hotels have any shuttle service. What/who would you recommend that we use, if you had done this recently?
  12. We have our transportation from/to the airport. Do you have any suggestions of transportation from the hotels in the Galveston area TO the Regal ship? It looks like NONE of these hotels have any shuttle service or anything like that.
  13. You probably already have your answer. We will be cruising a week from today. My son who lives about 30 minutes from us got their medallions about 4 or 5 days ago. We have 3 houses all next to each other. My son got his medallion on Friday, I got mine on Saturday, and my other son is STILL waiting to get theirs, and we ALL live next door to each other. Their medallion system is BAD when sending them out.
  14. We have the Premium package. I have never eaten gelato, and definitely want to try it. Hopefully (as someone mentioned) since I have no clue what it taste like, they won't give me something else to substitute it.
  15. So Tweetie if I understand right, even IF we have the Premier package, we cannot even order soda on the ship, while in TX, right?
  16. We did not book for 2025, but one reason we order the Premier package, as you had mentioned was because of the pictures. I don't know how you do your booking, but I decided to get a Princess Vacation Planner (PVP), and anything I had a question on, she was able to answer up front. So if you have not booked as yet, it wouldn't hurt for you to get one like us, and ASK a few questions before you book. We have had different questions during our process, and our PVP has been able to take care of anything that might need to be done, if someone was not right.
  17. Your question just CAUGHT my eye, and I have not read what others have posted to you here. I understand you not wanting anyone to touch any of your personal items, etc. I will say in over the 30 years of cruising on about 20 cruises or more, our room steward, we have NEVER had a problem with them in any way. Now if you are concerned about money, jewelry, etc. than DON'T bring any where you could not put it in the vault, than you wouldn't have a problem in that area. I will say the room stewards do NOT stay in the rooms long, as your room is NOT the only room they have to take care of, so they are pretty busy, most of the time. It does make it hard on them, but they DO go with the flow, if someone is in their room and do not want the room steward coming in to change the towels or sheets, and they just come back later. Sometimes they come in twice a day, and if a person only wants once a day, then they will do that as well.
  18. Cr8tiv1, I agree about the smaller ship. I have been blessed to do over the past 30 years, about 20 cruises, on different cruise lines. I just like the older/smaller ship as well, especially with the atrium they have in the middle, where I don't seem to see this any more on the new ships.
  19. I'm glad I seen this, as I had been advised the Champagne Tower was usually on the first formal night (I do understand if there are big waves, and things can change), around 6:00, which someone had posted or showed on the Platter. Then someone else posted the Platter, and it showed around 9:00, so that makes a big difference as well. Guess I will have to be on my TOESπŸ™‚ , just to make sure I don't miss this event. The reason I say this, it has been "24" years since I did my first one, and WANT to do it again. πŸ™‚
  20. Wallyj, sorry I missed your posting, and thank you for your input too.
  21. Reedprincess, thank you for sharing the walk (as far as it would go) on deck 7. Memoak, I know that while in Galveston/TX a person could NOT get liquor, but I was WONDERING why they would be charging for soda, while still in TX with the package?
