  1. Would it make me appear less slackish if I told you about my Bloody Mary ritual at breakfast??🥳
  2. Yep. Especially if the charges showed up on the Haven passenger's invoice.
  3. Cheapo "extras" to make you feel honored is what I've heard. Maybe a tote bag with an NCL logo or similar clutter that will take up space until it hits the landfill in a few years.
  4. I just hand them five bucks for our three bags. That likely puts me in the top 20%.
  5. Same thing. 🤣 disclaimer: that was a joke. Actually, I don't no nothin' about that stuff (and I can prove it!). I just drink what DD orders and am fine with it. Oddly, I have to order my own bourbons (but generally not at lunch).😎
  6. Chicken Noodle soup, Wedge salad and Philly Cheesesteak for this 🐀. And keep the cheap Prosecco coming. You're killing me my friend. 💀
  7. I think it is a big joke (and the joke is on us). Here's the base fare pricing for that Bliss sailing and the one a week later. The 10% only comes off of the base fare. It's like, sail Sept 28 and you'll save 10%!! Small print: sail a week later and you'll receive 20% (inside) or 30% (OV/balcony) off. I personally prefer the manly AK cruises at the end of October. ☠️
  8. They charge you full price for the excursion and then you get a $50 credit a day or two after the excursion is completed.
  9. Easy to spot. They have three NCL luggage tags on each bag and a copy inside for backup.
  10. I think Wild Spirits was on the Joy in Fall 2022. We sailed her a few weeks after @Sailing12Away and Marty did. Do you remember them @Sailing12Away? Female lead singer, good lead guitar and bass? Nice folks.
  11. That's what we did on the Pearl in November.
  12. DD used OBC to purchase some RayBan sunglasses on the ship. Those generally aren't discounted anywhere, so unlike most things they are not "overpriced" on the ship. Everybody should have a nice pair of RayBans, especially on a ship. Wear prescription glasses? No problem. Have your optometrist install prescription lenses. I actually have a pair of Wayfarer bifocals. 🤡
  13. Some have had success in working with the Shorex desk to cancel/rebook the excursions in order to have them consume OBC. I've done this twice but it is not necessarily painless. Also, as somebody else reported, if I buy a Shorex for full price with nonrefundable OBC, when they issue the $50 FAS credit a day or two later it takes the form of refundable OBC. I did this on my last cruise and wound up paying less than $2000 for 16 CNs.😎
  14. Yeah, but I'm still not seeing a "mess." @ChiefMateJRKisn't here? Oh well, we'll just take the next person in line. Where's the "mess?"
  15. Yeah. What goes on? You waste an hour that you could have been having actual fun. It was marginally beneficial when us folks in steerage didn't get free drinks back in the day. Now? I have no idea because I've avoided them like the plague for many years. Time to bridle that enthusiasm and just have a (free) drink at the bar.😎
  16. I don't know about any of that. I do know that trying to do anything productive on the NCL app while on the ship is more often than not just an exercise in frustration.
  17. We'll, I've never had a butler, so I don't know from firsthand experience. That said, I have read about it here on the forum. I think they do different things for different people. I hear things about gummy bears, nuts and cookies. It is very interesting to see how some derive value from a butler..... 🤣 Generally, when I find a great venue with outstanding music, I make friends with one of more of the fine folks who bring me drinks. I guess they are as close as I'll get (or want to get) to a butler. 😎
  18. Kiosks or designated place (Comedy Club?). Some may suggest the NCL app, but I prefer the easy/reliable approaches. Pro tip: if you book at the Kiosk, take a picture with your phone of each booking.
  19. Work harder and drink more. If that doesn't do it, find a fine group of 🐀's to learn from.
  20. Yeah. I eat. I drink. I find the good music. I nap. I enjoy the views from the observation lounge. I absolutely hate long distance air travel, so almost all of our cruises sail from US ports (we do have an exception with Iceland booked in the future). We'll be visiting HI for the second time (in many years) next year and will certainly enjoy a few of the better Shorex experiences. Then it's back to AK, where other than the train in Skagway I find little reason to leave the fun ship. I'm not particularly interested in different cities, foods and cultures. Probably a character flaw, but as the saying goes, "I yam what I yam." (see my avatar)
  21. Shore excursions are great for those who take cruises to see new places. That's really not why some of us cruise. "See, I've already gone places. I just want to stay where I am."😎
